Working Hours & Location 

This role follows a 37 hours, over a 7 day working pattern. This is a site-based role, requiring occasional travel to meetings with partners, other attractions and to our main hubs for collaborative meetings and team activities.

Role Overview 

The purpose of the post is to manage and lead the day-to-day operations, business development and visitor experience at our Canal Museum Stoke Bruerne. The Visitor Services Manager (VSM) will lead the site team at Stoke Bruerne (colleagues and volunteers) on a day to day basis to focus on the visitor offer, striving for excellence in experience, achieving financial sustainability around income generation and charitable giving and delivering a consistently high-class visitor welcome across the board. This includes managing a range of front of house functions including food and beverage, retail, events and commercial boat trips. The Visitor Services Manager plays a central role in overseeing, coordinating and championing the experience of every visitor from site presentation, to large/small scale events and programming, making the site a must-see attraction, acclaimed internationally, nationally and loved locally.

As a key member of the Destinations and Attractions Management Team the VSM will work strategically with colleagues in other attractions and with other teams within the Trust such as, Operations, Fundraising, Collections, Marketing and Volunteering teams amongst others to promote, drive and deliver excellence in customer service and a visitor centred approach. The VSM will work collaboratively with teams and volunteers to ensure focused visitor activity which will help build our audiences and increase visitor footfall whilst building engagement for the Trust brand.

A key accountability of the role is managing and reporting on financial performance, delivering on KPI’s and leading and motivating teams to deliver income targets whilst effectively managing costs.

The Visitor Services Manager will manage a range of stakeholder relationships including representing the Trust at local partnership groups, representing the site at relevant external meetings as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

About you

You will have extensive experience of working operationally in a customer-focused environment, ideally in a visitor attraction, delivering financial targets and creating dynamic and innovative projects and programming that will engage and inspire audiences. You will have experience of leading teams, including volunteers to deliver successful initiatives and keep them motivated and involved. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to create safe working environments and understand the importance of compliance in day to day operations. Skills & Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Knowledge/experience of customer care and visitor services preferably in a museum context
• Knowledge / experience of managing staff rotas over two sites
• Successful track record in recruiting and developing volunteers
• Knowledge of heritage and interpretation issues
• Experience of managing staff and dealing with customers
• Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
• Considerable people management and hands-on team leading experience including managing volunteers
• Proven experience of planning operations & staffing in a visitor-based attraction
• Ability to work in partnership with internal and external staff and organisations.
• Experience of managing budgets.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety Policy, Principles, Standards, Procedures & Guidance.
• Able to creatively & innovatively develop solutions to obstacles and challenges
• Ability to Travel between sites
• Demonstrate an interest and competency in effective museum management.
• The successful candidate will require a DBS check

The Director of Finance will be an integral part of the Senior Management Team, with responsibility for the strategic and day to day management of Cathedral Finances. • Trial door drops, phone campaigns and reactivation to establish which methods have the best ROI for recruiting new members
• Create and trial other ideas and initiatives to grow audiences and recruit members

• Instigate welcome calls to new members
• Review and take responsibility for the welcome journey for new members, ensuring Direct Debit compliance as well as outstanding supporter engagement
• Organise and host in-person events for new members
• Organise and host online events for members as well as taking advantage of and communicating details of relevant national events
• Arrange long-standing member recognition and telephone thank-a-thons
• Research and trial other methods which may have a positive impact on membership retention and/or lifetime value
• Instigate a semi-regular survey so we can gauge members’ interests and satisfaction levels

Responsibility 3: Analysis and Administration

• Establish metrics and data reporting to monitor the success of each initiative.
• Conduct an annual targeted uplift mailing

The Communications Department inspires, informs and engages the public by showcasing Alzheimer’s Research UK’s mission, impact and scientific progress across all channels. We lead the charity’s media and strategic communications activity, ensuring clear, accurate and compelling storytelling that supports research, fundraising and organisational priorities. The Strategic Communications Officer will be part of the Corporate Communications team – one of several specialist teams in the wider Department.

The Strategic Communications Officer will play an important role in delivering high‑quality campaign and communications activity that supports ARUK’s strategic goals. Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, this individual will mainly work collaboratively with colleagues across Brand and Strategic Marketing on our big impact campaigns, as well as supporting the corporate communications team when capacity requires – this could be working with the CEO office, Fundraising or filling a need from the wider team.

About the role

This new role is to manage the bursary and welfare services of Marine Society. This requires an in depth understanding of seafarer’s needs and the training and certification they require to progress in their careers, both at sea and ashore. The manager will also oversee wider aspects of careers information and guidance and assisting with fundraising activity

Responsibilities

· Assess and process all bursary applications, including Slater Scholarships, Worcester, Hanway and Green Skills bursaries against clearly defined eligibility criteria

· Authorise the award of financial bursaries and approve beneficiary claims and expenses

· Maximise the use bursary funding and ensure successful outcomes for beneficiaries

· Identify new bursary funding opportunities and devise bids in collaboration with the fundraising team

· Manage the bursary and Coming Ashore programme restricted funds. Monitor and report on expenditure and activity

· Manage the operation of the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and ensure its sustainability

· Produce statistical reports and analysis pertaining to bursaries and welfare services for internal and external stakeholders.

· Put in place and maintain online and physical resources that provide seafarers with information, advice and guidance and supports maritime career development.

· To lead the annual Matrix accreditation process

About you

You will love autonomy and will enjoy working collaboratively across the fundraising department and wider organisation. You’ll be a retention specialist with plenty of experience leading digital and traditional direct marketing programmes, and you’ll be able to take a strategic approach to delivery, independently taking on key areas of the retention and upgrade programmes.

The Department

The Hurlingham Club Foundation was established in 2021 and its mission is to harness the collective strength of the Club to create spaces and opportunities that improve the health, well-being and social connection of people living in underserved areas of our borough.

The Role

Volunteers play a pivotal role in supporting every aspect of our vital work – from fundraising and events, to our retail shops and the hospice itself – with over 350 individuals generously volunteering their time, skills, and passion.
