Your role 

This role sits in the Philanthropy & Partnerships Directorate, a high performing team that is responsible for all areas of high value fundraising including major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners and special events/high value committees. We play a vital role in delivering a stewardship and communications programme to support the wider Directorate with the knowledge, tools and expertise to recognise, thank and update our highest value supporters.

We will need you to: 

• Maintain and manage data lists and mailing processes for key communications, including biannual newsletters, season’s greetings cards and the Charity’s Impact Report.
• Support fundraisers to coordinate and deliver correspondence to donors and partners, including sharing news from the hospital or preparing routine updates, ensuring all communications are accurate, timely, and properly recorded.
• Upkeep all donor recognition information, including tracking members of the Charity’s stewardship circles and auditing donor recognition across the hospital.
• Coordinate donor recognition pages for the Charity’s annual Impact Report, working closely with the PR and Communications team.
• Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure donor recognition is accurately recorded, appropriately displayed, and installed on schedule.
• Support the delivery of donor stewardship projects by managing administrative tasks such as researching and sourcing suppliers or products, managing orders, and coordinating logistics across teams to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.
• Oversee stock levels of materials and assets – order, receive, store and distribute materials to the team as required.

The Senior Philanthropy Manager (Maternity Cover) will play a pivotal role in the delivery of its major donor programme. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this role sits at the heart of the philanthropy team, combining hands-on major gifts fundraising with oversight of systems, processes and pipeline management. The postholder will shape and steward a growing portfolio of high-value supporters during a critical phase of the Hall’s capital appeal, while ensuring that donor engagement activity is coordinated, consistent and effective.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will:

• Report to the Head of Philanthropy and line manage two direct reports – Senior Prospect Researcher and Philanthropy Coordinator – fostering clarity, structure and confidence within your team.
• Manage a personal portfolio of major donors, stewarding relationships typically in the £20,000–£500,000 range.
• Work to a team income target, generating funds from HNWIs through major gifts, mid-value gifts and legacies.
• Own and drive the major donor pipeline, ensuring clear next steps, momentum and follow-through across cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
• Be donor-facing, through regular face-to-face meetings, cultivation activity and events, including evening engagement as part of stewardship.
• Ensure robust processes are in place for tracking, thanking and income processing, with delivery support from the Philanthropy Coordinator.
• Act as a central coordinating figure for major donor activity, working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, Development Director and selected Philanthropy Board members.
• Lead on the rollout of donor communications, including tailored donor stewardship and wider impact reporting.
• Work closely with other development colleagues who focus on the Hall’s Friends and Patrons programmes, Trust and Foundation approaches and Events.

Essential skills and experience:

• Demonstrable experience of managing and stewarding high-value individual donors, ideally within a major gifts or upper mid-value context.
• Experience of personally securing c.£50K+ donations from HNWIs – please ensure that examples of personally secured gifts from HNWIs, including £value, are included on your CV. It would also be helpful to include context e.g., uplift, new donor
• Confidence working with fundraising databases and systems (ideally Tessitura), and a strong understanding of GDPR and DPA 2018.
• Strong organisational and process skills, with the ability to keep complex, multi-strand activity moving and well-tracked.
• Experience of working collaboratively in a matrixed environment with senior stakeholders and volunteers.
• Some line management or mentoring experience, with the ability to provide clear direction and practical support. However, this is not a heavily people-management-focused role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging donors in a range of settings.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach, combined with sound judgement and professionalism.

Desirable:

• Arts, culture or heritage fundraising experience.
• Experience of working on or alongside a capital appeal.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller with experience of running the day-to-day financial operations of a dynamic charity. We are an ambitious charity with ambitious goals that needs a Financial Controller to support the charity in achieving these goals. This is a broad role that will include a wide range of responsibilities. The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the daily and weekly tasks of the Finance team, as well as periodic tasks that are less frequent.  These tasks include (but are not restricted to) all aspects of bank and cash, raising of invoices, generating BACS payments, all Finance input into payroll, VAT returns, Gift Aid claims and response to ad hoc queries from our front-line staff.  The Financial Controller managers one Finance Assistant and reports into the Head of Finance. The Head of Finance leads on budget setting, forecasting and monthly / quarterly / annual reporting, and the Financial Controller will support where needed.  The Financial Controller will also be the lead contact with external auditors following year end.

The Cathedral has a particular responsibility to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults in the Cathedral community. It shares this responsibility with the Diocese of St Albans. This work is wide‑ranging, and the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) plays a central role in maintaining good safeguarding practice.

This part‑time role (15 hours per week) becomes vacant as the current postholder retires after four years, with time planned for handover with the person appointed to the role now. The CSO works with senior staff and the governing body to help lead policy development, training, reporting, and compliance with Church of England guidance. They report to the Canon for Mission and Pastoral Care and receive regular professional supervision from the National Safeguarding Team, with occasional networking with other CSOs.

Safeguarding is recognised as a shared leadership responsibility. The CSO meets weekly with senior clergy to review cases and will also work with the newly appointed non‑executive Safeguarding Lead on Chapter, the Cathedral’s governing body.

A core part of the role is promoting safeguarding awareness across the Cathedral community and understanding all activities involving children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The CSO provides professional advice on concerns raised, ensuring responses follow law and national policy, and works closely with diocesan and national safeguarding teams on complex cases. They also ensure appropriate support for survivors and proper management of those who pose risk.

About You

The Cathedral is seeking candidates with strong knowledge and professional experience in relation to safeguarding issues and proven experience working collaboratively in teams.

The post will require some flexibility in working patterns and will therefore require occasional weekend working and the ability to respond to urgent cases.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification and relevant experience and expertise in child and/or adult protection.

This newly established Director of Income Generation & Business Development role is designed to bring together income generation, marketing and communications, and retail under one strategic umbrella to shape the next chapter of LWA’s development and impact. 

As Director of Income Generation & Business Development you will set the strategic direction for all income related activity across the charity, ensuring LWA develops a sustainable, diversified income portfolio that is aligned with the charity’s purpose and values. • Strategically lead a multi-year income generation and business development strategy, setting key objectives and enabling diversification that aligns with LWA’s values and new organisational strategy. 
• Provide strategic leadership for marketing and communications, ensuring organisational-wide narrative building that reflects the values and impact of LWA, while championing the voices of women and children. 
• Ensure strategic leadership for LWA’s retail function, developing growth strategies that balance community impact alongside financial performance. 
• Develop compelling, adaptable cases for support that reflect LWA’s impact and ambitions, ethically and meaningfully embedding survivors’ voices. 
• Strengthen organisational resilience through income diversification beyond statutory funding, establishing strong communities of support and identifying opportunities for growth. 
• Work collaboratively with the Director of Services & Engagement and Director of Strategy, Partnerships & Influence to identify and develop new commissioning and business development opportunities, ensuring viability and strategic alignment. 
• Represent LWA with authenticity, integrity and sensitivity to ensure the values of the organisation are upheld and that organisational decision making reflects women-centred principles. 

The role would best suit:

• A senior income generation leader, with broad multi-stream experience and a proven track record of strategically driving growth and diversification of fundraised income. 
• A strategic leader with the ability to develop a team across income generation, marketing and communications and retail. 
• An individual with experience of developing income generation strategies that intersect with organisational strategies and ambitions. 
• Someone with the ability to balance income generation with ethical storytelling/responsibility, public accountability and regulatory considerations. 
• An individual who demonstrates commitment to LWA’s values and the Nolan Principles: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership. 
• Someone with demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of, women-led and women-centred support services, including the importance of trauma-informed, inclusive, and empowering practice for women and girls.

Our Low-Fly Future Campaign Manager will play a key role in our aviation workstrand, which focuses on climate justice and reducing aviation fairly by targeting the most frequent flyers and private jets, while offering a green alternative in the form of more accessible international rail travel. The Low-fly Future Campaign Manager will deliver exciting, innovative, ambitious campaigns and projects to tackle the high-carbon and highly unequal aviation sector. 

This role offers a diverse and varied workload including campaign planning and delivery, communications, public engagement, political engagement, press, and working with our supporters and the wider public. As well as delivering currently planned campaign outputs, the role will provide scope for creative work and the development of new projects, ideas and tactics within the aviation workstream.

We’d love to hear from people with experience (paid or voluntary) of developing or delivering campaigns and public engagement centred on fairness, whether that’s climate justice, tax campaigning, or social justice work. Previous experience of aviation or transport campaigning is very much not essential, as we can support you to get up to speed on that.

The basics

• Contract: 12 month fixed term contract. We hope to extend the contract dependent on funding. We are not accepting applications for job shares for this role. We are unable to provide sponsorship for a work visa.

• Salary: £34,845 for 0.8 FTE (£43,556 full time equivalent) and band C3 on our pay scale. We are unable to negotiate salary.

• Location: Hybrid working: Camden office and home working/remote. You’ll be in the Camden office at least one day per week but you’re welcome to be there more often.

• Working hours: 0.8 FTE, which is 28 hours or four days per week. Our core working days are Tuesday and Wednesdays when all staff are required to work.

Abianda is a London-based charity that works with young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation and violence, and the professionals who support them. We exist to ensure young women are no longer hidden in our communities and can live free from harm and abuse. Abianda is seeking an experienced and collaborative Young Women and Girls Practitioner (1:1) to work with young women and girls aged 13-25 affected by criminal exploitation and violence as part of our flagship service, the Star Project.

As the Young Women and Girls Practitioner (1:1), you will take young women and girls through a tailored programme of activities, supporting skills development and critical thinking. You will work with young women and girls over a period of approximately 6 months, or up to 24 sessions. You can read more about the service on our website.

Job Details:
