Our EDIA Officer is responsible for the implementation and delivery of our equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) strategy. Working in partnership with senior staff, our EDIA committee, and Trustees, you will advance the Society’s EDIA aims and objectives, providing expertise and knowledge to ensure the development of evidence-based EDIA programmes of work.

Today, we are a world-leading communicator of Earth science – through publishing, library and information services, cutting-edge scientific conferences, education activities and outreach to the general public. We have a membership (Fellowship) of c. 12,000, more than 2,000 of whom are based outside the UK. Approximately 3,000 are Chartered Geologists or Chartered Scientists - professionals who have demonstrated a high level of technical competence in their field and a commitment to professional ethics.

What you’ll be doing …

You will be designing, planning, and delivering projects aimed at improving outcomes for our fellows and student members, other key stakeholders, and the wider geoscience community. In line with our EDIA Strategy, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on activities and progress alongside the EDIA Committee, producing an annual report.

Beyond this, you should expect to be fostering relationships with key stakeholders and external partners to ensure that the Society continues to embed itself as an inclusive and equitable role model, and leader throughout the wider geoscience community on a global scale.

Overall responsibilities / requirements …

Main responsibilities:

• Manage the implementation and promotion of EDIA related activities across the Society, aligned with our EDIA Strategy.
• Oversee the implementation and evolution of the Society’s EDIA Strategy, working with the Director of Science & Engagement to secure support from senior stakeholders across the organisation and the wider geoscience community.
• Ensure that EDI requirements remain fully linked and part of the Society’s overall strategic vision.
• Work collaboratively with, and support, relevant stakeholders to deliver existing EDIA programs.
• To act as the custodian and liaison for Society EDIA matters, representing the Society externally where required.
• Manage relationships and foster engagement with external EDIA focused organisations, affiliations, networks, committees and groups (including but not limited to the D&I Progression Framework, DiG-UK, UGUK, AGU Inclusion and Representation in Geoscience Task Team, TIDE, the Equator Project, and Hidden Histories).
• Ensuring that the Society is at the forefront of EDIA as a leader within the global geoscience community.

Activities:

• Work alongside the Director of Science & Engagement to develop interventions and outcomes for specific EDIA Strategy objectives as ascribed.
• Review policies and procedures to enhance EDIA opportunities, ensuring all relevant guidance documents, policies, and processes are reflective of current legislation and supportive of a culture of inclusion.
• Monitor and report on EDIA Strategy progress to key stakeholders, when appropriate, celebrating success, and identifying key opportunities for improvement.
• Working with other team members, research on current and emerging trends in the EDIA landscape to apply and promote initiatives and share best practice.
• Update and develop EDIA resources for internal and external stakeholders, in a variety of formats, on key issues and/or developments as appropriate.
• Attend, lead and/or develop meetings relating to EDIA.

Collaborative working:

• Networking appropriately, maintain and developing relationships with EDIA professionals and organisations, sharing best practice and new ideas.
• Lead the coordination of EDIA related projects with external stakeholders and partners to support the delivery of key deliverables (e.g. AGU Task Force, Equator project etc.)
• Working alongside the EDIA Champion on Council, attend and provide secretariat support for the Society’s EDIA sub-committee, reporting into our External Relations Committee where required.
• Policy – working with the Head of Policy and Communications in developing EDI related consultation responses, briefings, public statements.
• Progression Framework - engage in working groups of the framework and carry out the benchmarking process at the Society in partnership with the Director of Science & Engagement.
• Funding – working in partnership with the Funding team to administer our EDIA and Community grants
• Working alongside the rest of the ‘This is Geoscience’ project team at the Society, contribute to the project’s aims and objectives ensuring that EDIA is appropriately centred in the campaign.

Other responsibilities and expectations …

• Attend external training and personal development events to keep abreast of developments in equality and diversity across the Earth science sector and any changes in relevant legislation and policy.
• Arrange and participate in meetings, conferences, and project team activities where appropriate.
• To ensure that positive working relationships are created with other departments at the Society.

The role may require some travel in the UK, and occasional weekend and evening working, however, agreed out of hours working will be compensated by time off in lieu (TOIL).

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Greenhaw Road Community Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. To lead and grow Cruse’s community fundraising and events programme, maximising income from existing activities/events while developing new fundraising opportunities. The postholder will take ownership of event planning and delivery, supporter engagement and volunteer and Branch fundraising coordination, helping to increase unrestricted income. • Full professional membership, registration and accreditation with UKCP, BPS, BPC, BACP or equivalent.

• At least five years’ post-qualification experience.

• Experience of working therapeutically with people who have experienced childhood trauma.

• Experience of clinical management or management within an organisational setting.

• Experience of working across different cultural contexts and a strong commitment to culturally sensitive practice.

• Experience of collecting and measuring clinical outcomes, including CORE.

Role Context

Recovery in Community is a collaborative initiative delivered in partnership between Gaddum and Manchester Mind. The service supports people to leave inpatient mental health settings and return to their community with the support they need to recover and remain well.

As a team, we deliver psycho-social interventions, advocacy, housing and welfare rights advice, peer support to adults as well as tailored support to young people (those under the age of 25).All we do is underpinned by listening and ensuring people feel heard – because we know that when people are listened to, they recover. The team works with colleagues within the mental health, primary care, inpatient and community sectors.

Role Purpose

As a Peer Support Worker, you will have lived or living experience of receiving mental health care or treatment in hospital. Using your expertise gained through this experience, you will support peers in their mental health recovery who are ready to leave hospital or are already in the community. Receiving support from your colleagues, you’ll develop and manage your casework practice and hold a small case load. 

You will walk alongside people to set achievable goals to ensure they get the support that they need, ultimately feeling connected to their communities – the right services and support network.

This role will work with a small but intensive caseload (max 12 cases for a full-time peer support worker) to focus on: 

• Repatriate: when people are sent to an out of area placement (OAPs) advocate to get them back to Greater Manchester so they can recover in their community. 

• Discharge: Supporting people when they’re ready to be discharged from inpatient mental health services to get back to the community and recover. 

• Prevent re-admissions: Work with people, post-discharge, to ensure they continue to get the support they need to make informed choices, stay well and ultimately thrive.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• To provide bespoke support to people that are ready to be discharged from inpatient psychiatric care to return to the community, building (with support) packages of care so they have a positive and sustained recovery. 

• To work alongside people post-discharge, in their community setting (e.g. home or supported accommodation) to ensure they get what they need to stay well. 

• To effectively manage a small caseload (about 7 people), being flexible to people’s needs and short-term changes in schedule. 

• To work in a person-centred, trauma informed, empowering and culturally appropriate way that enables people to feel listened to and heard.

• To help people engage with services and make sustainable links with their communities. 

• To use and develop your knowledge of community care, policies, legislation and services to get people the support they need to recover and stay well. 

• Identify when cases need escalation or onward referral and keep your line manager aware of case developments. 

• Independently visit people in inpatient and community settings in Manchester and across Greater Manchester, adhering to lone working and risk management procedures. 

• Occasionally visit people out of the Greater Manchester area who need to return to their community in Manchester (all travel expenses will be paid and non-commute travel time will be part of your working day). 

• Build relationships with colleagues within services (e.g. inpatient staff, social care, CMHTs etc) to enable improved collaborative working 

• Take part in multi-disciplinary meetings, representing the views of people, and their aspirations on returning to community settings. 

• Support the ongoing service development, drawing on your role as an ‘Expert by Experience’ and using what you hear from the people you support to contribute to the development of the services by reviewing and contributing to improvements.

Creative Collaboration

The Creative Collaboration department is at the heart of the Barbican’s engagement with its communities, breaking down traditional arts boundaries and contributing to a diverse and dynamic artistic programme.

Creative Collaboration aims to be a catalyst for the Barbican’s artistic vision, working across the centre with a multi-artform approach using all venues and spaces. The department champions interdisciplinary work that connects new audiences to the Barbican, engaging with creatives, participants and users that reflect the rich diversity of London.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Producer, Learning and Participation to join the Creative Collaboration team at the Barbican Centre.

The role of Senior Producer is instrumental in the development and delivery of dynamic programmes which engage young people and communities underrepresented in arts and culture as participants, audience, makers, workforce, and artists. 

With a primary focus on the City of London and surrounding boroughs of Camden, Islington, Tower Hamlets, and Hackney the Senior Producer will manage the learning and community team, while collaborating across Barbican artform departments to deliver participatory focused events and programmes.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
•    Significant experience of community arts, youth participatory or arts education work. 
•    Strong track record of delivering large-scale, public participatory or educational arts events across art forms.

•    Significant experience of managing complex budgets.
•    Experience of preparing, presenting, and implementing business plans and strategies.

Are you an experienced fundraiser who enjoys building relationships and wants the opportunity to shape a role around your skills and experience?

We’re looking for a Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser to join Enham Trust and help grow our corporate fundraising. You will manage and develop our existing partnerships while also building new relationships and identifying opportunities to bring new supporters on board.

This is a role where you will have the opportunity to take ownership, bring your own ideas and help shape how our corporate fundraising develops.

What you will be doing

You’ll build and maintain relationships with our corporate partners, while also identifying new organisations and opportunities to grow our income. You’ll work closely with businesses to develop fundraising, sponsorship, volunteering and other ways they can support Enham Trust.

You’ll also:

• Manage and develop existing corporate partnerships, while building relationships with new supporters.
• Identify and secure new fundraising and partnership opportunities.
• Develop corporate fundraising programmes and activities that encourage businesses to support Enham Trust.
• Develop effective processes and workflows to support corporate fundraising and supporter engagement.
• Meet with corporate partners, volunteers and other stakeholders
• Coordinate corporate volunteering opportunities and support positive experiences for our partners.
• Work closely with the wider fundraising team and contribute to wider fundraising activity where needed.

There is plenty of scope for the role to develop, so we’re looking for someone who is confident working independently, takes ownership and happy to bring new ideas to the table.

About you

You’ll already have fundraising experience and understand how to build strong relationships with supporters and develop those relationships into fundraising opportunities. Corporate or partnership fundraising experience is important, as you’ll be managing existing relationships while also looking for new opportunities.

You will be responsible for growing income to support Enham Trust’s fundraising targets.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Confident, organised and able to manage their own workload.
• Comfortable building relationships with businesses and other stakeholders.
• A strong communicator, both face to face and in writing.
• Confident presenting, networking and representing a charity externally.
• Able to spot opportunities and take them forward independently.
• Passionate about fundraising and motivated by making a difference.

Experience of working within the disability sector would be useful but isn’t essential. Fundraising training and support will be available, so we’re looking for someone who has the right fundraising experience and wants to develop their career with us.

You will need to be based within or near Hampshire, as we’re looking for someone who can work from our Enham Trust office around 2 to 3 days a week. You’ll also need to be comfortable travelling to meet corporate partners and attend external meetings, so you’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
