If you're interested in hearing more about this opportunity, please send your CV to Alice at Charity People in the first instance.
We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability, and potential; please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so we can help make the application process work for you.
Charity People is a forward thinking, inclusive organisation that actively and deliberately promotes equity, diversity and inclusion. We know organisations thrive when inclusion is at the forefront. We evidence our commitment by matching charity needs with the skills and experience of candidates irrespective of background e.g. age, disability (including hidden disabilities), gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. We do this because we believe that greater diversity leads to greater results for the charities we work with.
Could you jointly lead an organisation with bold ambition to end homelessness in Bristol - and put inclusion at the heart of how you lead?
This is a rare opportunity to share leadership, accountability and impact for Caring in Bristol - an ambitious, independent charity working towards a simple but powerful vision: 'No one is homeless in our city'.
We're looking for a Co-Director to take the lead on Finance, Fundraising and People functions.
Location: Hybrid, Bristol (60% onsite, open to negotiation where adjustments may be required)
Salary: £54,550-£61,245 FTE, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, 0.8-1.0 FTE (30 or 37.5 hours)
You'll also receive 33 days' annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata if part time), flexible working, an enhanced 5% pension contribution, an individual learning and development budget, clinical supervision and group reflective practice.
Caring in Bristol believes everyone should be treated with dignity, respect and fairness. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation where people feel they belong and can thrive.
We're looking for a Co-Director who will champion equality, diversity and inclusion through organisational culture and practice - someone who values lived experience, listens to different perspectives and creates a safe, supportive environment where people can do their best work.
You'll join at an exciting point in Caring in Bristol's development, sharing leadership of an organisation that believes homelessness is not inevitable and is working across the city to prevent it, respond to housing emergencies and create lasting change.
About the role
This definitely isn't your everyday, run-of-the-mill Director or CEO role. You'll have a unique opportunity to co-create and collaborate on your own leadership model, alongside the existing Co-Director, with joint responsibility for strategy, performance and culture.
Taking a lead on finance, fundraising, people and HR, internal operations and governance, you'll make sure people, systems and resources are working effectively to deliver on mission and maximise impact.
Together, you'll make co-leadership work by building trust, challenging each other constructively, bringing complementary strengths and sharing accountability. Alongside the Board, team and people with lived experience, you'll build the confidence, capacity and resources Caring in Bristol needs to deliver its ambition and create lasting change.
We're looking for a different kind of leader
You might be an experienced charity leader, or have come up through finance, operations, organisational development, HR or income generation. You may have taken a less conventional route into leadership. We really don't expect you to tick every box.
We're looking for senior leadership experience, the ability to build a sustainable organisation with strong income and people foundations - plus a genuine passion for developing inclusive, high-performing teams. But just as importantly, we want to understand how you lead.
You'll be someone who:
Knowledge of homelessness, housing or Bristol's voluntary sector would be useful, but it isn't essential. What matters most is your leadership style, values and desire to end homelessness.
Inclusion really matters
We know some groups are under-represented in our workforce, and we're committed to changing that. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of homelessness and those from backgrounds under-represented in the charity sector.
We're committed to making recruitment inclusive and accessible. We can offer flexible working and reasonable adjustments throughout the process, and if written applications don't allow you to show your strengths, we're happy to accept audio or video responses too.
Interested?
If you're excited by the chance to help create a Bristol where no one is homeless, we'd love to hear from you. And if you're thinking "I'm not sure I'm the typical candidate" - please don't let that stop you getting in touch.
To register your interest, a CV or draft profile is a great first step. You can send this to Amelia Lee at Charity People directly through the application channel on this website, or just get in touch to request the full job pack.
Closing date: 9am on Monday 14th September
Interview dates are currently being agreed, likely to happen early-mid October.

Salary: Starting salary £32,604 rising to £36,796, plus London weighting of £4,000
Hours: Full time (32 hours per week)
Contract type: This is a fixed term role for 12 months

What does the role involve?

Having this CRM Officer role in post for a year will support the ongoing business as usual data processes, whilst increasing capacity in the team to support efforts to increase the amount of automation of processes and integration between systems. The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate vetting procedures (proof of eligibility to work in the UK, proof of residency and satisfactory employment screening, including a Disclosure check and two most recent references) along with 3-year renewals of Disclosure checks. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this post, you must be able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK.

Please ensure you attach an up-to-date CV and statement of suitability answering all points of the person specification. Applications will close at 9pm on Wednesday 2nd September and we are unable to accept late applications. Interviews are planned for w/c 14th September.
We believe our people should represent the communities, organisations and individuals we work with. Kingston University has spent over 125 years transforming lives through education, innovation and opportunity. With TEF Gold recognition across the board, and a Town House Strategy that's rewriting what a modern education looks like, we are focused on helping students develop the skills, networks and experiences to thrive throughout their careers. Integral to this ambition is our global community of more than 280,000 alumni, who's futures have been shaped by the university.
As Head of Alumni Engagement & Operation, part of the senior leadership team of our Development, Alumni Relations and Engagement (DARE) team, you will help us build lifelong relationships with our alumni to support future growth and success.
About the role:
We have a 3-year strategy in place to develop alumni engagement, increase participation and embed philanthropy more deeply across the University, with full support of senior leadership across the board. What matters most is your ability to build communities, create meaningful engagement opportunities, use insight to drive decision-making and inspire people to connect with a shared purpose.
