The Woodland Trust is looking for a Site Manager - North East. This role will be responsible for Woodland Trust Sites in Durham and wider north-east England. This includes Low Burnhall a woodland creation site in the heart of Durham, Ragpath Wood a Plantation Ancient Woodland Site in the Deerness valley, several woodlands around Washington and other Woodland Trust sites across north-east England.

A company vehicle will be provided for this role. Please note that out Company Vehicle Policy is also under review as part of our Job Families and Contract Review project, so the eligibility criteria therein are subject to change in due course.

The Role:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of high-profile woodland sites in line with the UK Woodland Assurance Standard, including ancient woodland, designated sites, veteran trees and high-biodiversity areas.
• Lead on specifying, tendering and managing contracts, ensuring high-quality delivery through effective on-site contractor monitoring.
• Carry out Woodland Condition Assessments and use findings to develop, write and implement long-term management plans.
• Ensure site safety and compliance, including tree safety inspections, risk assessments and implementation of Woodland Trust health & safety policies.
• Plan, deliver and monitor a programme of woodland management work, collaborating with foresters, engagement teams, communications specialists and external partners.
• Build positive relationships with local communities, stakeholders and visitors, representing the Woodland Trust professionally and promoting understanding of our work.
• Support delivery of regional projects, fundraising, VIP visits and communications, providing compelling estate-based information and helping secure funding.
• Coordinate and support volunteers and manage budgets, grants and resources to deliver effective woodland management across the region.
• This is a homeworking position. Occasional travel to offices and remote locations will be required.

The Candidate:

• You’ll have experience in forestry, conservation, land or woodland management, including sites of high conservation value.
• A background in strong project and contract management skills, including budgeting, tendering, monitoring and coordinating multiple workstreams.
• Knowledge of woodland ecology, legislative requirements, H&S procedures and safe working practices in varied and remote environments.
• Experience working with stakeholders such as government agencies, contractors, and deer managers to meet conservation and statutory objectives.
• Ability to manage tree safety inspections, tree pests, diseases, and invasive species.
• Leadership or people-management experience.
• Understanding of Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certification or willingness to develop this knowledge.
• Possess a HND/Degree in forestry, land management or related field (or equivalent experience) and a full driving licence with ability to travel.

About the role:

The prospect research and pipeline management role is pivotal to fundraising at Sue Ryder – you will sit within the Philanthropy and Partnership team and will be working across the Corporate, Trust, Major Donor and Regional teams. We are looking for someone who can support our fundraisers through prospect research, network mapping, lead qualification, and due diligence checks.

Most importantly you will be a proactive member of the team, joining us at an exciting time as we embark on our newly developed 5-year fundraising strategy. You will be a member of the team with the skills to review and develop the pipeline management process on our CRM (Raiser Edge NXT) ensuring the teams have access to dashboards, tracking their donors across the stages of solicitation. You will also provide insight reports into how well we are moving prospects through the pipelines and will have a voice to make recommendations. This role will also ensure we are working within data protection and fundraising regulations and both deliver and track our due diligence checks.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or with equivalent relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with prospect research tools and the ability to identify and recommend the best tools to support our work using the budget as cost effectively as possible.
• Thorough working knowledge of GDPR as it relates to major donor fundraising and the Fundraising Codes of Practice.
• Experience of undertaking due diligence checks on prospective donors and of setting up and implementing policies and processes to ensure regulatory compliance.

Role Purpose

The Head of Philanthropy is accountable for delivering significant philanthropic income for Justice & Care, including through personally secured major gifts, alongside building and leading a high-performing philanthropy function.

The postholder will design and execute the philanthropy strategy, hold and actively manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, and personally secure five- and sixfigure gifts through direct relationship management and solicitation.

This is a hands-on income-generating role: the Head of Philanthropy will lead from the front on donor cultivation, stewardship and asking, while also setting direction, prioritising effort and building capability within the team to maximise long-term philanthropic income.

They will work closely with the Global Director of Fundraising on key relationships and strategic opportunities, supporting the growth of philanthropy across the UK and expansion into the US and emerging markets.

This role combines senior-level leadership with significant personal income delivery; candidates should expect to spend a substantial proportion of their time directly engaging donors and securing major gifts.

Global Scope

This role will support the growth of philanthropy across multiple markets, including strengthening the UK portfolio and developing opportunities in the US and emerging markets (e.g. Middle East), working closely with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver market-specific approaches. 

Main Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

1. Strategic Leadership and Income Delivery

• Lead the development and delivery of the philanthropy strategy, with a clear focuson generating major donor income in the UK and driving growth in the US and emerging markets
• Be accountable for achieving philanthropy income targets, including through personally secured major gifts, working closely with the Global Director of Fundraising

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

This is a specialist youth work role with two complementary areas of practice focus: (a) gender-responsive work with girls and gender-diverse young people experiencing or at risk of violence, harmful practices, exploitation, and coercive control; and (b) inclusive practice with neurodivergent young people whose support needs are routinely missed by mainstream youth provision.

VAWG specialism is the primary area of expertise for this role; SEN-aware practice is a complementary area of focus, supported by mentorship and consultation from Angel Shed Theatre and external SEN expertise where deeper input is needed. The role is designed to ensure that the cohorts most often underserved by violence-reduction provision — particularly neurodivergent girls — are reached and supported well.

The post holder will work within MGWT's trauma-informed practice framework, in close collaboration with the Dahlia Project on harmful practices, and within Andover's operational vision.

KEY AREAS AND OUTCOMES

Specialist practice — VAWG and gender-responsive work

• Lead on the design and delivery of a weekly girls and gender-diverse group at Andover, with structured progression and trauma-informed group work practice

• Provide 1:1 keywork to young people experiencing or at risk of gender-based violence, harmful practices (FGM, forced marriage, breast ironing), online and image-based abuse, and coercive control

• Hold a clear understanding of safeguarding pathways for harmful practices and serious youth-on-youth violence, working closely with MGWT's Safeguarding Lead and the Dahlia Project

• Support the wider Andover team to develop gender-responsive practice across all sessions

• Contribute to safety planning for individual young people in collaboration with the Safeguarding Lead

Specialist practice — SEN-aware and neurodivergent-inclusive work

• Co-design and deliver a sensory-aware parallel offer for neurodivergent young people, in partnership with Angel Shed Theatre

• Provide adapted 1:1 support to neurodivergent young people, including those with and without formal diagnosis

• Build and sustain referral relationships with SEN services, schools' SENCos, and partner organisations including the LYTP SEND project

• Support the wider Andover team to develop SEN-aware and trauma-informed practice across all sessions

Outreach, engagement, and youth voice

• Build and sustain trusting relationships with young people from the cohorts the role is designed to reach

• Lead on outreach and engagement activity to reach young people not currently accessing the service, particularly girls, gender-diverse young people, and neurodivergent young people

• Support the embedding of youth voice in the design and review of the specialist offer, with paid lived experience contributors where appropriate

Safeguarding and partnerships

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding pathways relevant to VAWG, harmful practices, and SEN-related vulnerability

• Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead in line with policy

• Work in partnership with the Dahlia Project, Angel Shed Theatre, and external specialist organisations to maintain the quality of practice

• Participate in multi-agency meetings as needed for individual young people

Reporting and learning

• Maintain accurate records of 1:1 keywork, group sessions, and outcomes

• Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the VRU Stronger Futures programme and other relevant funded streams

• Contribute to learning and reflective practice across the Andover team

As Legacy Executive for Battersea, you will have the opportunity to gain further skills and experience of the fast-growing charity Legacy sector. In this role, you will ensure the fulfilment of the wishes of those animal lovers who have been kind enough to remember Battersea in their Will and in turn will be of direct help to some of the most vulnerable animals in our society.

In this role, you will:

• Provide administrative support to the Legacy Administration team, who are responsible for the legacies left to Battersea.
• Manage your own caseload of pecuniary legacies, including corresponding sensitively and effectively with family and friends of the people who have left a legacy to Battersea.
• Have the opportunity to manage a caseload of non-contentious residuary cases, maximising the gift to Battersea.
• Build relationships with supporters, executors, family members and co-beneficiaries to maximise Battersea’s legacy income and protect the reputation of the charity.

• Lead WaterAid’s presence at global events and conferences, building a network of contacts amongst companies and actively cultivating this network.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Proven experience in generating six-figure strategic, new business partnerships from cold in the charity sector or in a commercial setting and proven ability to meet and exceed personal targets.
• An externally focused and proactive attitude, with the energy and passion to engage people and excite them about WaterAid, alongside the ability to forge effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including internal and external C-suite.
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for writing high-quality and engaging proposals for a corporate audience.
• Strong working understanding of charity-corporate partnerships, corporate sustainability, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

St Giles is expanding its delivery of hospital-based projects; this service is aimed at vulnerable 12 to 25-year-olds who attend the adult or paediatric emergency department or Urgent Care Centre at Northwick Park Hospital. We will work alongside hospital staff to proactively identify vulnerable young people and help them to access and engage the support they need to prevent any potential escalation of violence and reduce the risk of repeat victimisation or exploitation.

About this key role

You will be embedded in the hospital, providing support for those young people admitted to emergency departments right through to their discharge back into the community. You will have experience of working with ‘high risk,’ vulnerable young people, be part of a multidisciplinary team, and have a flexible, empathetic approach to your work.   This support extends post-discharge from the ED or Hospital with our Caseworkers working with the CYP and the professional networks to ensure the CYP voice is front and centre, this is to support the betterment of the CYP and their future, as well as reducing risks. This is done through providing 121 support in formulating the support plan with the CYP. This can also include supporting the family and advocating for them and CYP within the wider professional network.
