Breakthrough T1D is the UK’s leading type 1 diabetes charity, dedicated to funding research, advocating for change, and supporting the T1D community. A year into our exciting rebrand from JDRF to Breakthrough T1D, we’re looking for a Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer – Devolved Nations to help us build on this momentum. 

The role of the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer - Devolved Nations is vital to achieving our UK-wide advocacy mission: to reduce health inequalities in type 1 diabetes, to widen access to type 1 diabetes treatments and technologies and to ensure that people with type 1 get access to emerging new treatments and future cures in the devolved nations.  

You will lead on projects with key stakeholders and high-level Parliamentarians, such as our access to treatments and early detection work, as well as people with type 1 diabetes, policy makers and researchers. You will help to deliver Breakthrough T1D’s influencing plans, improving access to and choice of type 1 diabetes treatments and technology in the devolved nations.  

Experience required 

• Experience of working successfully with politicians, their offices, Government departments, and other public affairs audiences to influence policy and to influence public/stakeholder discourse  

• Experience of leading public affairs delivery in one of more of the devolved nations  

• Experience in analysing Government policy in-depth and creating policy briefings   

• Experience of drafting briefings, reports and policy submissions   

• Experience of communicating across a range of parliamentary and professional stakeholders at all levels

Youth Development Coordinator

Location: Hybrid – some time at our office in Chopwell, delivery at various regional woodland sites, and some home working

Purpose of the role

Community Action Redbridge is looking for a dynamic Funding and Development Lead to work alongside VCSE organisations in Redbridge to strengthen their resilience and impact. You will provide tailored one to one support on fundraising, governance, and organisational development, helping organisations to secure and diversify income, embed good practice, and plan for long term sustainability. 

This role sits at the heart of our mission to support a vibrant and thriving VCSE sector. You will build strong relationships with funders and create opportunities for VCSE organisations and funders to connect, fostering trust and mutual understanding, and improving access to funding opportunities. A strong, connected, and sustainable VCSE sector is essential to building resilient communities and driving lasting social change.

In this role, you will design and deliver high quality training courses with a particular focus on fundraising. This includes developing detailed session plans and clear training overviews for communications, consistently applying RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement) to monitor learners progress and outcomes, and gathering and analysing feedback via evaluation forms to continuously improve training quality and relevance. 

You will build and maintain positive, proactive relationships with existing and potential funders, including using data and insight to identify and engage funders who are currently under investing in Redbridge. Organise and facilitate regular Meet the Funder events and other engagement opportunities to connect VCSE organisations with funders, fostering strong relationships and enhancing access to funding opportunities. 

Working collaboratively with funders and statutory partners, you will champion and co design accessible and inclusive funding practices that reflect the needs and priorities of VCSE organisations and the communities they serve.

The Marketing Officer/Senior Marketing Officer (Retention) at CBM UK is an important role in making our life-changing work possible. Advertised at Officer or Senior Officer level (subject to experience), the role delivers direct and digital fundraising appeals to existing individual supporters, high value donors, and churches to drive donations and grow awareness, through creative and impactful fundraising communications.

Key responsibilities:

The position holder is responsible for developing fundraising campaigns for individual supporter audiences; supporting the development of the annual public fundraising plan; building supporter journeys and testing new channels and messages.

Working closely with the Head of Marketing and across the Fundraising & Communications team, the Marketing Officer/Senior Marketing Officer (Retention) is responsible for planning and delivering a significant marketing programme, carrying out fundraising campaigns to existing supporters across multiple channels, including direct mail, email, and telephone.

Cultivation appeals (60%)

a. Deliver regular and inspiring off-line direct marketing campaigns to existing supporters on time and within budget. The role holder will plan, co-ordinate and prepare fundraising appeals. This involves creating briefs, working alongside freelance copywriters and designers, and managing print and fulfilment suppliers.

1. Lead on the delivery of online appeals and updates, including the planning and coordination of mass supporter emails.
2. Optimise the performance (traffic and income) of website fundraising pages, including appeal landing pages and donation platforms. Ensuring pages on the CBM website are engaging to existing and new audiences and utilising Search Engine Optimisation tools.
3. Lead on the planning and implementation of feeding back to existing supporters on our work as part of their donor journey, through leading on CBM UK’s supporter newsletters, e-news and prayer diaries.
4. Prepare internal marketing materials for CBM UK colleagues and provide briefings for supporter facing teams ahead of each campaign.
5. Develop excellent working relationships with existing and new agencies and suppliers, including marketing agencies, writers, designers, print suppliers and mailing houses. Source new agencies and suppliers as appropriate.

High donor fundraising (20%)

1. Lead on CBM’s high donor fundraising programme, through planning and managing regular communications and fundraising asks to this segment of supporters, working towards achieving annual income growth targets.
2. Work alongside the Supporter Relations team to develop and carry out a donor journey for high donors, including personalised communications through phone, email and post.

New product testing (10%)

1. Proactively test and develop new fundraising ideas, channels and messages to engage with and raise funds from new and existing audiences.
2. Maintain awareness and anticipation of charity sector trends relating to direct marketing and keep abreast of competitor activities to enable CBM to respond and adapt quickly where appropriate.

Planning and reporting (10%)

1. Analysis and reporting of appeals and projects, providing learnings that will enable informed decision making around future activities.
2. Develop a good knowledge of the CRM system (Salesforce) and ensure appropriate recording and reporting of direct marketing activity.

Other

1. Ensure the consistent implementation of CBMs brand, key messages and style guide in fundraising activities.
2. Awareness of, and compliance across direct marketing, of Fundraising Regulator and Data Protection legal requirements (GDPR and PECR).
3. Work with other teams, including the CBM Global Federation, to maximise collaboration opportunities and integrated working.

About The Role

We are looking for a passionate and organised Time for Dementia Officer to support the delivery of our innovative Time for Dementia programme across Northern Ireland, on a fixed term contract until July 2028, working hours can be considered between 28 - 35 hours. 

Time for Dementia is an educational programme that connects undergraduate healthcare students with people living with dementia and their carers, helping students build a deeper understanding of the lived experience of dementia.

In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting and supporting people affected by dementia to take part in the programme. You will work across communities, building relationships with local services and organisations, and ensuring participants feel supported throughout their involvement.

This is a community-based role requiring regular travel across all the NI Trust areas with a large focus on Western, Northern and Southern trusts, so access to your own transport is essential.

About you:

- Demonstrates compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach.

- Is confident working independently across a large geographical area.
- Able to communicate with the ability to engage sensitively with people affected by dementia.

Key Responsibilities

- Recruit people affected by dementia and their carers into the Time for Dementia programme.
- Conduct one-to-one home visits to explain the programme, gain consent and build relationships.
- Provide ongoing support to participants throughout their involvement.
- Build strong relationships with NHS services, voluntary organisations and community groups to promote the programme.
- Develop innovative approaches to engage people affected by dementia across diverse communities.
- Work closely with universities to support the smooth delivery of the programme.
- Deliver and support student-facing sessions, including introductions and end-of-cohort events.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates and reports to the Project Manager.
- Develop and support local engagement opportunities for participants.
- Act as an ambassador for Alzheimer’s Society and the Time for Dementia programme.

Our Net-Zero & Grant Enabler will take the lead in advising, supporting and encouraging our Churches and Circuits across London in accessing and securing funding to aid the development of our Mission Plan, but with a strong leaning towards net-zero initiatives. You must have knowledge of securing funding grants (that’s a given), but you’ll also need to have experience or a strong passion in supporting net-zero schemes. We are looking for a Prospect Development Manager to lead the Prospect Development Function. The successful candidate will work with Philanthropy & Trusts, Events, Corporate and Regional fundraising teams to drive forward activity in four key areas: prospect research and identification; prospect management; due diligence; and data management. The postholder will primarily support high value fundraising teams to develop robust supporter pipelines, looking for key areas of growth and opportunities to maximise supporter lifetime value to the organisation. 

How you'll help to create brighter futures, by:

• Working with Fundraising Heads and Leads to develop prospecting strategies for the identification of new high value prospects.

• Line management responsibility to deliver prospecting and pipeline activities to a high standard.

• Identifying new prospects via data mining, press scanning, peer networks, and prospecting projects to develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects for fundraising teams.  

• Managing a prospect management system on Raiser's Edge to track and manage the movement of Philanthropy prospects.

• Leading prospect portfolio reviews for the Philanthropy & Trusts team to assess the health of the pipeline.

• Working with the Leadership Teams to manage the process involved with the Charity's Donation Acceptance and Refusal Policy from end to end. 

• Acting as data champion for the Philanthropy, Events, Corporate and Regional Fundraising Teams.

Let's talk about you 

• Experience of prospect research including identifying and prioritising prospects, network mapping, ethical screening and developing gift capacity ratings. 

• Excellent standard of written communication with the ability to produce accurate and concise briefings.

• Experience of using and interrogating relational databases, ideally Raiser's Edge.

• Ability to interpret large volumes of data, synthesise information, present findings objectively and make recommendations. 

• Excellent inter-personal and relationship-building skills.

• A thorough understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR for prospect research and data management.

About the role

We are excited to be recruiting for an International Advocacy Advisor to join WWF-UK at a critical moment for people and planet.

This role sits within our International Advocacy team and will help deliver WWF-UK’s strategy for effective international influencing in a changing world. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering advocacy approaches that help secure ambitious outcomes on climate, nature and people across major global forums including UN climate and biodiversity processes, the G7, G20 and other international arenas.

A particular focus of the role will be building strong partnerships across the WWF network, especially supporting partner offices in the Global South and enabling multi-country collaboration. You will also help drive work to end deforestation by 2030 through the connected lenses of food, forests and finance.
