Project Coordinator – Mobile Dignity Hub, South-West England 

Job description 

This is a role based in the South-West of England, working across the region to deliver a new mobile refugee clinic. The Project Coordinator is responsible for setting up and running the pilot project: coordinating a rented van, a small cohort of trained volunteers, and a rolling programme of visits to areas where people seeking asylum have been dispersed. The primary services will be dependent on the availability of other services in the local area but are non-specialist advice and referrals, and the distribution of welcome packs, clothes and hygiene items. The Project Coordinator can be based anywhere across the South-West.

The mobile model exists because widening dispersal is moving people seeking asylum further from city-centre services, often to rural areas with little existing support infrastructure. Fixed premises are a poor fit for many people's reality – low incomes, limited transport, childcare, language barriers and poor health can make a city-centre appointment practically inaccessible. This project takes support to where people are, building trust through co-hosting with local organisations and the use of refugee peer supporters. 

The Project Coordinator will work closely with the CEO and Back Office, collaborating on volunteers, budget management, partnerships and the development of the project. This role starts part-time (3 days per week) and is expected to increase to full-time (5 days per week) from January 2027. Extension beyond the pilot period will be based on performance and funding, and decided by mutual agreement between the Project Coordinator and the CEO. 

Role specification 

Setting up and running the mobile clinic: 

• Lead the practical set-up of the pilot: sourcing and maintaining a rented van, developing a network of partners across the South-west to coordinate operations and facilitate storage 

• Plan and deliver a rolling weekly/monthly rota of visits to different areas where people seeking asylum have been dispersed, working towards the target of 200 members served in the three-month pilot (800 in the first six months). 

• Oversee day-to-day delivery of non-specialist advice and referrals, and the distribution of welcome packs, clothes and hygiene items, ensuring services operate efficiently, safely and in line with organisational procedures. 

• Create and keep up to date a directory of local support services (health, legal, housing and other) so members can be referred accurately and quickly. 

• Identify and monitor the evolving needs of members and suggest new or improved ways of working to best serve the communities the project works with. 

• Identify and realise purchases needed to run and develop the project. Pay suppliers or ensure the Back Office knows when to pay. 

• Undertake any additional ad hoc tasks or responsibilities as directed by the CEO to support the effective running of the project. 

Member support: 

• Assess member needs and identify local service gaps to ensure relevant and suitable support is provided. 

• Support members to access and enrol with appropriate service providers through effective referral pathways. 

• Collect monitoring and evaluation data on what and how the project is delivering, including member feedback. 

Volunteers and safeguarding: 

• Recruit, welcome, train and manage a small team of volunteers, ensuring everyone is well supported and clear on how to help members within eligibility criteria. 

• Ensure all volunteers, visitors and any other relevant party understand and adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures, including photos/media. 

• Manage safeguarding, including reporting concerns, incidents and disclosures immediately. 

• Ensure a safe environment for members, volunteers and visitors, maintaining appropriate health and safety standards on the road and at any partner venues. 

Partnerships and stakeholder management: 

• Develop partnerships with local organisations across the South-West (including hosting arrangements at hubs and other venues) to build trust and extend the project's reach. 

• Maintain and nurture relationships with partners through clear, timely communication and attendance at relevant meetings. 

Budget management, reporting and accountability: 

• Manage and keep to the project budget. 

• Ensure careful management of financial resources and account for all expenditure on Xero. 

• Maintain regular communication with the CEO and Back Office, responding to queries and carrying out tasks as required, including participating in regular meetings. 

• Contribute to a full evaluation of the pilot project to inform decisions about extension or expansion to other areas. 

Essential Criteria 

• At least two years' experience (paid or voluntary) working with displaced and/or marginalised people. 

• Ability to stay calm and work under pressure in a highly emotional environment. 

• Very clear communicator, able to lead and motivate a team of volunteers and clearly enforce rules. 

• Understanding of professional boundaries. 

• Ability to stay emotionally resilient and practise self-care while remaining compassionate to the needs of others. 

• Proven ability to improve services within limited resources. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and tech literacy in general, most importantly with Excel, Teams and digital file management. 

• Eligibility to work in the UK. 

• Strong spoken and written English is essential. You must be confident working in a multilingual environment where not everyone shares the same language. 

• A full, valid UK driving licence, and confidence driving a large van. 

• Willingness to travel regularly across the South-West of England and to work outside the formal hours of 9am–5pm occasionally, as the work demands. 

• Understanding of the UK asylum system and dispersal policy. 

• Knowledge of the South-West of England, particularly Dorset and Bournemouth. 

Desirable 

• Interest and knowledge of the NGO sector and humanitarian movements in the UK and Europe. 

• Existing network of or knowledge of various services and providers across the South-West 

• Additional language skills are desirable but not required. 

• Passion, initiative and creativity to constantly improve what we do.

Offered Benefits 

• Salary of £30,000 per annum (FTE). This role is part-time (3 days per week) for four months, potentially rising to full-time thereafter (5 days per week), with salary pro-rated accordingly. 

SOS UK is looking for a Project Manager to deliver our engagement work with a focus on our Climate Action Fund programme – Student Energy Action for Life (SEAL).

Role details

Location: Home working in (or close to) London, Midlands or Manchester

Working patterns: 1 FTE (35 hours per week) with typical working times between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. The role includes weekly travel with early starts and late returns, and approx. 6 overnight stays a year. 

Salary: Starting salary £32,289 per annum, rising to £36,843, plus London Weighting of up to £3,655 pro rata where applicable. We also provide up to a 6% pension contribution and life assurance.

About the role

This role will be primarily focusing on our Climate Action Fund programme – Student Energy Action for Life (SEAL), with opportunity to contribute towards our wider engagement programmes. SEAL has a twofold vision; to support students navigating the home energy system and to improve access to student energy efficient properties via landlord engagement and student campaigning. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Engage, maintain and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders particularly landlords and students' unions, as well as students, volunteers, universities, local authorities, and other key organisations. 
• Support landlords, student letting agencies and students’ unions to improve the energy efficiency of student accommodation, focusing on implementing energy efficiency initiatives, advice and support.
• Plan, design, and deliver engaging training sessions to a variety of audiences.
• Provide support for students’ union officers and other student campaigners working on housing energy efficiency campaigns, including the design and implementation of a national student home energy campaign.
• Support with the creation and management of sector wide student energy efficiency advisory groups including a home energy efficiency network, student advisory group and stakeholder advisory group.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of programme resources and communications, including social media and website updates. 
• Recruit, coordinate, and support student volunteers including line management of student staff when required.

The Position

The Opportunity:

We are recruiting an Investment Manager to take a leading role across BSC’s client investment mandates, playing a central part in how we mobilise capital at scale to deliver lasting social impact. 

A significant part of this role is supporting the management of BSC's client investment mandates, including the Schroder BSC Social Impact Trust, a listed investment trust for which BSC acts as portfolio manager, giving investors access to private market impact investments addressing some of the UK's most entrenched social issues. You will support portfolio management, reporting and investor engagement for the Trust, working closely with senior colleagues.

You will own a portfolio of impact investments spanning both BSC's own capital and the mandates we manage for others, taking direct responsibility for how these investments perform against their financial, social impact and systems change goals over time. What you will do:

Support investment management for BSC's client mandates

• Contribute to portfolio-level investment management across our client mandates, helping shape how we think about multi-asset allocation and performance, and building the cashflow, liquidity and return models that underpin these decisions.

• Bring the analysis and insight behind our client reporting to life, from regulatory reporting and accounts to due diligence questionnaires, giving investors a clear, compelling picture of how their capital is performing.

CHOICE IN HACKNEY is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Coordinator to develop and coordinate our volunteering programme and support a diverse team of volunteers across the organisation.

You will recruit, induct, train, place and supervise volunteers, including gardeners, befrienders and administrative assistants. You will also support disabled people who want to volunteer, helping them develop their confidence, skills and employment prospects through meaningful volunteering opportunities.

A key part of the role will be matching volunteers with disabled people living in the community. You will assess individual needs, skills, interests, experience and availability to create appropriate and rewarding placements. The role:

Every year CSE's advice service helps thousands of people to cut their energy bills, improve their homes and stay warm. Thousands more struggle with cold homes and unaffordable bills without ever knowing that free, expert advice is available. This role exists to change that.

As Marketing Manager, you will grow awareness of, and referrals to, CSE's energy advice services across both B2B and B2C audiences. You will build relationships with the professionals and community organisations best placed to refer people to us and develop campaigns that reach householders directly.

You will own a sustained marketing plan, produce high-quality materials and measure your impact. Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will work closely with colleagues across Communications and our Household Energy Services team. It is a creative, fast-moving environment where good ideas get acted on.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Develop and maintain a sustained, practical marketing plan for CSE's advice services, covering referrer engagement (B2B) and direct-to-public activity (B2C).
• Work with Household Energy Services project managers to set clear objectives and targets, and report on performance.
• Research and map the professional referrer landscape, identifying the right intermediaries for each project area.
• Build and maintain a segmented referrer database and lead a proactive outreach programme, re-engaging lapsed partners.
• Develop messaging and materials that help referrers understand our advice services and promote them confidently to their clients.
• Deliver public-facing campaigns across print, community and digital channels, including activity reaching people who are digitally excluded.
• Work with the Digital Communications Manager on project-specific digital activity, including Google Ads, website content and email campaigns.

The Opportunity:

This is a dual-remit role combining ownership of our office environment with high quality support to our Core group.  The Core group is the c.40-person team that brings together the firm’s central support services

The successful candidate will be the person who keeps our single-floor, c.60-desk open plan office running smoothly day-to-day, and who provides reliable ‘EA-type’ support to the CFOO and the heads of the Core group’s sub-teams.  The role is fundamentally service-orientated: you will be the first person colleagues and visitors turn to, and your standards will set the tone for how the Core group serves the organisation.

This is a varied, high-trust role for someone who wants to be the person that makes things work and who has a desire to provide service that delights. It is a fully on-site role based at our Old Street office, five days a week – and that’s by design. As the person responsible for our workplace experience, your presence is what makes the difference. You’ll build relationships across every team, respond to needs in real time, and take genuine ownership of an environment that our team relies on each day.

What you will do:

Office Management

• Act as the day-to-day owner of our leased office floor, ensuring it is safe, welcoming, well-presented and fully operational at all times.

• Manage the relationship with the landlord and building management on all matters relating to the premises, including access, maintenance, repairs and building-wide communications.

• Manage relationships with our sub-lease tenants.

• Manage relationships with office-related suppliers (cleaners, maintenance contractors, security, plants and caterers) including contract renewals and service level monitoring.

• Manage department budget in line with our Responsible Procurement Policy, carrying out annual budgeting and reforecasting in collaboration with Finance team.

• Oversee office supplies, stationery, kitchen consumables, print and postage, maintaining appropriate stock levels.

• Manage front-of-house: greet visitors, handle deliveries and couriers, and ensure meeting rooms are prepared, tidy and appropriately equipped.

• Support onboarding for new joiners, coordinating with People & Talent, IT and the relevant hiring manager to ensure a smooth first-day experience.

• Manage ad hoc desk bookings for staff and room lends to our sector partners.

• Appointed Health and Safety Officer, coordinating health & safety compliance for the office, including fire safety, evacuation plans, first aid, DSE assessments and relevant risk assessments, working with the People & Talent team as required.

• Support internal events and client hospitality held in the office, from set-up through to catering and clear away.

• Identify and deliver practical improvements to the office environment, employee experience and operational efficiency.

Support to the Core Group

• Provide high-quality ‘EA-type’ support to the CFOO, including diary management, meeting coordination and project support as required.

• Provide proportionate similar support to the senior leaders of the Core group sub-teams (Finance, IT, Legal & Compliance, Middle Office, Transformation), prioritising the activities where your involvement adds the most value.

• Coordinate recurring all-Core Group meetings, working closely with the CFOO and sub-team leaders.

• Organise internal and external meetings on behalf of the group as required, including booking rooms, arranging hospitality and liaising with external parties.

• Prepare and format documents, presentations and correspondence to a high standard, often involving sensitive or confidential material.

• Help plan and run Core Group events, offsites and social activities that bring the team together.

• Act as a discreet, trusted point of contact, handling confidential information with complete professionalism.

Other Support

• Working collegiately within the BSC Support Network team, providing support during busy periods and annual leave and collectively ensuring support needs across the organisation are met.

• Other duties as required.

• Participate in at least one ‘BSC Citizenship’ activity, helping to make BSC a great place to work. This could be helping to organise our summer or winter social, joining the Staff Council or helping across other champion roles

What you will bring - Qualifications & Experience:

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in an office management and/or EA role, ideally in a professional services, financial services or similarly regulated environment.

• Experience of health and safety delivery including office-based risk assessing, trained first aider and/or fire marshal certification and general H&S operational knowledge.

• Prior knowledge or interest in social enterprise, charity or impact related work.

Desirable

• Experience in an FCA-regulated firm or familiarity with the expectations of working in a regulated environment.

• Experience managing external suppliers and budgets.

The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to assist academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Role & Responsibilities 

Casework 

• Signposting prospective applicants to the application form. 

• Manage own caseload, preparing cases for eligibility review, including arranging calls to speak with applicants, booking English language tests, and gathering all relevant documentation.
