This is an exciting opportunity to join the Freshwater Habitats Trust’s New Forest team, delivering practical, landscape‑scale freshwater conservation projects across the National Park.

The role will focus on identifying, developing and delivering habitat creation and restoration projects to improve freshwater biodiversity at a catchment scale. This will include undertaking catchment walkover surveys to identify issues and opportunities, and working closely with landowners, technical specialists and a wide range of stakeholders to design and implement effective interventions—including habitat creation, restoration and nutrient management.

The postholder will lead on developing project work plans, securing necessary consents and licences, and managing contractors through delivery. Alongside this, the role will involve full project and financial management responsibilities, including budget oversight, reporting against targets, and liaising with funders.

Strong stakeholder engagement is key, with the role also representing the Trust at meetings and contributing to partnerships across the New Forest. This is a varied role combining practical conservation delivery with project leadership, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on freshwater environments.

The People Matter Trust is a Christian Charity based in Eastbourne helping job seekers reach their full potential.  The organisation gained the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2022 and is Matrix accredited.  The Board of Trustees are seeking to recruit a Director of Operations to take up a position that will become vacant due to retirement during the second half of 2026.  The post will be full time (35 hours per week).

This key senior management role is responsible for the operational delivery of services, in line with the Christian ethos and values of People Matter. The Level 6 CIAG (or equivalent) qualified post-holder will hold responsibility for overseeing the delivery, management and reporting of funded contracts, managing the team of advisers, and overseeing all Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and write compelling applications to charitable trusts and foundations who have the capacity to make five and six figure gifts towards the charity’s work.
• Prepare and submit scheduled applications and reports to current funders, ensuring that we hit deadlines and develop relationships with the trusts and foundations currently supporting Villiers Park.
• In collaboration with the Senior Leadership team, and colleagues in Fundraising and Communications, create engaging and accurate reports to current funders that share the impact of their support, including trusts, major donors and university partners.
• Work with colleagues in the Fundraising team to develop and implement targeted stewardship strategies that bring current donors closer to our work.
• Identify new prospects and propose engagement and cultivation strategies.
• With the Head of Fundraising and Chief Executive, develop the trusts and philanthropic strategy to support the organisation’s 'Beyond Barriers’ strategic growth plan.
• Work closely with the Fundraising Operations and Data Manager to prepare pipeline reports to inform budgeting and forecasting.
• Support the Head of Fundraising to identify and develop fundraising channels, including family trusts, corporate foundations and legacy giving.

Purpose of the Role

The fundraising team at Breaking Barriers generates income from a range of sources: trusts and foundations, statutory and lottery, corporate and major donors. We sit within the wider Income and Engagement Directorate, alongside communications and public fundraising, and work closely together to drive income and engagement from funders, partners and supporters who share our vision that every refugee can access meaningful employment and build a new life. 

The Development Officer manages our portfolio of small trusts and foundations (grants up to £10,000), securing income and developing relationships from existing donors and new prospects. The role involves writing compelling funding proposals, delivering effective stewardship, and meeting all reporting requirements to a high standard.

Alongside portfolio management, the post-holder co-ordinates our fundraising events programme, ensuring both online and in-person events deepen engagement with our cause. The role also provides active support across fundraising appeals and the statutory, lottery and major donor income streams, including prospect research. The post-holder will also contribute to the operational efficiency of the fundraising team through effective administration.

This is a varied, fast-paced role that will suit someone with strong writing skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to our mission. It offers real scope to develop knowledge and skills across a wide range of fundraising disciplines within a supportive and ambitious team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Income generation (60%)

· Manage and develop a portfolio of trusts and foundations awarding grants of up to £10,000, delivering tailored stewardship and relationship management across both warm relationships and cold prospects.

· Plan, write and submit compelling funding applications based on a clear understanding of Breaking Barriers' programmes, funding needs and funder requirements.

· Manage all reporting requirements within your portfolio, ensuring reports are completed accurately and to deadline.

· Undertake research to identify new prospects, gathering relevant background information including funding interests, grant levels and connection points with Breaking Barriers.

· Ensure all income and pipeline activity is accurately recorded and kept up to date in Salesforce.

· Act as the philanthropy lead for the Big Give Challenge Appeal.

2. Fundraising Events and Stewardship (20%)

· Co-ordinate Breaking Barriers' fundraising events programme, working across the fundraising team and wider Income and Engagement Directorate to shape a calendar that inspires and engages funders, supporters and senior volunteers.

· Manage event logistics including venue sourcing, guest list coordination, on-the-day support and follow-up.

· Lead on the development of stewardship materials for philanthropy audiences, including impact updates, newsletters and event collateral.

3. Prospect Research and Fundraising Administration (15%)

· Carry out prospect research to support the major gifts, statutory and lottery fundraising pipelines, producing clear, well-structured briefings for senior colleagues.

· Build and maintain funder profiles, recording prospect activity, research findings and pipeline information accurately in Salesforce.

· Support colleagues in the finance team with gift administration and thanking processes.

· Contribute to the directorate's approach to data quality and CRM best practice.

4. Other Responsibilities (5%)

· Participate in cross-team projects to build a thorough understanding of Breaking Barriers' work and wider activities.

· Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required within the scope of this role.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Fundraising Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract.

Working closely with the Director of Fundraising and the Senior Fundraising Lead, you will ensure our high-value corporate partnerships run smoothly, our high-net-worth events are a success and our external pitches are sharp and well-researched.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and opportunity generation

• Support the team by researching and keeping abreast of new funding opportunities across trusts, foundations, and corporate prospects.
• Compile background research to help the team evaluate and pursue new business leads.

Funding applications and pitch support

• Assist the Senior Fundraising Lead and Director of Fundraising with writing funding applications.
• Help structure and draft compelling pitch documents to support the team’s new business goals.
• Design and adapt templates for various fundraising documents and pitches.

Partnership coordination

• Take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of our corporate and institutional partnerships, ensuring exceptional donor care and seamless communication with external stakeholders (e.g., tracking partnership metrics, coordinating meetings, monthly data reporting and managing external communications).
• Deliver external logistics, such as school visits and workshops for corporate partners.

This role is offered on a permanent basis, on a full/part time or flexible basis. The salary is £24,000–£29,000, depending on experience. The role is hybrid, with staff attending the Woking office on Mondays and working remotely on other days (with occasional evening/weekend commitments for events, with time off in lieu).

As the Fund Development Officer, you will work closely with the Fund Development Manager and wider Partnerships/Development colleagues to support a relationship-led income programme. You will help to grow and steward a portfolio of donors and fundholders, strengthening engagement across corporates, professional advisors, and Trusts & Foundations. You’ll play a key role in prospect research, meeting and event administration, and producing donor-facing communications (including newsletters, social content and impact reporting) that showcase the impact of giving across Surrey.

To be successful in this role, you will be highly organised, detail-focused and confident juggling competing priorities in a busy, professional environment. You will bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent IT capability (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases/CRMs), and some experience in fundraising, philanthropy or the charity sector. You’ll be motivated by community impact, comfortable building rapport with a wide range of stakeholders (from grassroots groups to senior professional advisors and corporate partners), and interested in developing a long-term career in the not-for-profit sector.

Job Summary
Working closely with the Senior Corporate Partnership Manager, this role will support the delivery of high value corporate partnerships, including stewardship and engagement activities, as well as business development, identifying opportunities with aligned brands and up-coming charity of the year applications, to develop new corporate partnerships. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with one day a week in the office in West London, and expectation to attend partner events where required. 

You will be a creative, organised and reliable individual, ideally with experience in a fundraising team, supporting corporate partnerships or community fundraising. An excellent communicator, able to manage your time effectively and build good working relationships, you will support the Income team to deliver and secure corporate partnerships, working with colleagues across the charity to identify opportunities for engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support with high value corporate partnerships, including the delivery of employee engagement activities and communications, fundraising events and challenges
• Manage a portfolio of corporate partnerships, delivering first class stewardship and identifying and maximising opportunities for wider engagement
• Support the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager to steward and engage partners and prospects, including thought leadership, communications, events, volunteering and fundraising activities
• Support with business development, utilising Salesforce, Pearlfinders and LinkedIn to identify and track opportunities
• Support the Senior Corporate Partnership Manager to create proposals, offers and presentations for new and existing partners
• Support with challenge events, including fostering corporate participant journeys, organising cheer points, being familiar with various fundraising platforms, coordinating event logistics, resources, and post-event wrap-up reports 
• Support with stewardship of a select few high-value donors and ambassadors throughout their fundraising challenges, helping to deliver an engaging, bespoke and positive supporter experience 
• Manage team administration, including merchandise orders
• Build excellent stakeholder relationships, keeping key contacts updated and ensuring partnership renewals

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience developing and managing corporate partnership relationships.
• Proven ability to write compelling, creative, and tailored partnership proposals.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, including delivering pitches to external stakeholders.
• Demonstrable experience identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities.
• Flexibility to support at challenge events, office fundraisers and awareness campaign activities.
• Ability to contribute and help develop creative ideas for challenge events and awareness activities.
• Ability to work proactively and manage multiple partnership opportunities simultaneously.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience using CRM or database systems to manage partnerships and supporter information.
• Experience supporting or managing challenge event participant journeys

About the role

As Senior Partnerships Communications Officer, you will be the communications lead for CARE’s growing portfolio of corporate, trust, foundation and philanthropic partnerships. Sitting within the Communications team and acting as a key business partner to the Partnerships & Philanthropy team, you will develop a deep understanding of partnership priorities and provide expert communications support that helps grow income, strengthen engagement and showcase impact.
