About the role:
For someone who has spent years moving between the streets, temporary accommodation and services that have not worked for them, having a home of their own can be life changing. But getting the keys is only the beginning. As our Specialist Housing First Worker in Redbridge, you’ll provide the intensive, persistent and highly personalised support people need to make that home feel safe, sustainable and genuinely theirs.
Housing First does things differently. You’ll work alongside people who have experienced repeated homelessness and multiple disadvantage, including people who may be mistrustful of services or have found traditional approaches difficult to engage with. Rather than expecting people to change before they can access housing, you’ll start from the belief that everyone has a right to a home. You’ll build relationships over time, work creatively around barriers and use active engagement and harm reduction approaches to support people towards the goals that matter to them.
Your work will stretch across housing, health, benefits, safeguarding and wider support. You’ll help people prepare for and settle into their accommodation, navigate rent and benefits, manage risks and build greater independence within their community. Just as importantly, you’ll bring together the professionals around each person, advocate firmly when systems get in the way and keep looking for another route when the obvious one has failed. This is a role that calls for sound judgement, patience and real tenacity: knowing when to challenge, when to adapt and how to remain alongside someone through setbacks as well as progress.
You’ll be joining a team committed to delivering Housing First with integrity and giving practitioners the flexibility to respond to people as individuals. We also have an extensive collection of online resources and guides. We attend as many Pride events as we can and our work supports thousands of people every year. This support is provided by an active base of FFLAG volunteers who are parents of LGBT+ children themselves, supported by other volunteers and allies.
What this job is all about
As Volunteer Coordinator, you'll make sure FFLAG's volunteers are properly recruited, trained and supported, so they can continue doing this work well. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:
Identify what volunteers FFLAG needs, then recruit, induct and train them, including DBS checks and references
Maintain training, the volunteer handbook and the Code of Conduct up to date
Maintain regular contact with volunteers, so they stay engaged, safe and supported
Act as FFLAG's Safeguarding Lead, providing regular supervision to support volunteers
Keep accurate records, liaise with Trustees, and report on volunteer activity to the Board
Be a member of the Services and Support Committee
Provide support to the Operations Manager with events, as required
What are the skills and attributes you will need?
This role needs someone who's organised, approachable, and motivated by helping people do well - but it also needs real, hands-on experience of volunteer coordination from day one, since it's a small, part-time role with no one else to lean on for this work. We're specifically looking for candidates who can point to evidence of previous experience in:
Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers in a paid or voluntary role
Keeping volunteers engaged and retained over time
Handling safeguarding matters sensitively and appropriately
Working independently and comfortably in a remote-working setup
A genuine interest in equality, diversity, and the LGBT+ community
Please note: this role isn't suitable as a first step into volunteer management - we're looking for candidates who already have relevant, demonstrable experience in this area.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
This role is responsible for delivering a high-quality, trauma-informed and gender-informed support service for women living in the Complex Needs service. The post-holder will hold a caseload of women residents who may be experiencing multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, rough sleeping, domestic abuse, mental ill health, substance use, exploitation, offending histories, social isolation and complex trauma.
The Women’s Support Worker will provide persistent, compassionate and practical support to women who may find it difficult to trust services, sustain engagement or accept support consistently. The role requires someone who can build safe, respectful relationships at the woman’s pace, while maintaining clear professional boundaries and supporting women to stabilise, feel safer, reduce risk and work towards their own goals.
The post-holder will work as part of the wider frontline support team, leading on support planning, advocacy and multi-disciplinary working for women residents. They will also support colleagues’ day to day to apply gender-informed practice, strengthen engagement with women and ensure support is coordinated, responsive and centred on women’s safety, choice and wellbeing.
This role forms part of a seven-day rota and will include some evening and weekend working.

As Deputy Outreach Manager, you will help lead services supporting young people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or experiencing other complex challenges. You will be comfortable working around dogs, including beagles with different welfare and behavioural needs, and able to balance compassion with practical decision-making. Strong communication, organisation, collaboration and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is experience in supporting continuous improvement.
You will also need a UK manual driving licence and be comfortable driving our van. Experience in a kennel or animal welfare environment would be advantageous, but above all you will share Beagle Welfare’s commitment to improving the lives of beagles and supporting the people who care for them.
Working pattern and location
This role is based at the Rehoming Centre and offers employment that includes employer provided accommodation (3-bedroom cottage) as part of the compensation package.
The centre operates between 08:30 and 17:00 every day of the year, so weekend and bank holiday working will be required on a rota basis.

About you
They’re looking for someone with solid hands-on finance experience who enjoys working collaboratively and supporting non-finance colleagues.
You’ll ideally be part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA, or Level 4 AAT, with experience of management accounts, purchase and sales ledgers and financial reporting. Knowledge of accounting standards and Charity Commission guidance would be useful.
Previous experience managing or developing a small team would be particularly valuable, alongside strong Excel skills and the ability to build positive relationships with people at all levels.
Most importantly, this role will suit someone who is helpful, approachable and comfortable getting stuck into the detail, while also looking for ways to improve how things are done.

About the Role
Our small Fundraising team has benefitted from significant investment in recent years and this maternity cover role will provide vital continuity as EIA develops and expands its network of philanthropic supporters and strategic partners. About the role
This Debt Advice Case Manager role combines both technical and pastoral elements.
