The Volunteer and Events Manager will develop and implement a volunteer strategy and annual RLSS UK plan of events, for all Directorates, which evolves to include opportunities as they arise. To do so successfully, you will be a proactive, dynamic and experienced Volunteer and Events Manager who will lead our centralised management function with passion, excitement and dedication to RLSS UK’s purpose, mission and vision.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a professional volunteer and events function ensuring supply and demand needs are met across RLSS UK and supporting all teams to embed a consistent and coordinated approach
• To develop, implement and oversee the delivery of the volunteer strategy
• To develop and implement effective strategies, polices and processes to engage and retain volunteers and ensure a high-quality volunteer experience at all stages of the volunteer cycle
• To develop and implement effective event management strategies, policies and processes incorporating all health and safety requirements
• To lead and continuously improve our support to volunteers across the UK and Ireland
• Develop, implement and review an innovative volunteer recognition and reward offer
• To integrate an increasing number of volunteers into RLSS UK’s initiatives and activities, enhancing their experience and maximising their impact regardless of geography and circumstance

• To lead the delivery and implementation of our annual National Presentation of Honours Event, annual conference and national lifesaving sports events

• Approximately 7+ years’ experience in a volunteer management role

Operation Christmas Child UK (OCC) has implemented a strategic volunteer ministry, investing in teams of volunteers who will multiply themselves and hugely extend the reach of OCC’s mission.

OCC is the world’s largest shoebox appeal where Samaritan’s Purse, together with local churches here and overseas, distributes from the UK 1/4 million gift-filled shoeboxes annually to children in need overseas and in so doing demonstrates God’s love in a tangible way while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

A resourceful and energetic Regional Manager is needed to recruit, select, equip, and lead teams of volunteers throughout the greater West Midlands area and Wales. You will be passionate about developing others towards highly effective ministry, teamwork and increased personal competency. You will also directly engage churches to participate in OCC in areas not yet covered by Connect volunteers.

You will be confident to take initiative with people and projects and also have good administrative and organisational skills. You will also enjoy envisioning the numerous volunteers who participate in the OCC shoebox appeal each year.

The Third Age Trust is seeking to appoint a Training and Volunteering Officer who will work with the Senior Training and Volunteering Officer to support the recruitment, training and management of 400 Trust Volunteers who support the work of the Trust. The role will also provide advice and guidance to staff who work with Trust Volunteers and develop and deliver training online and in person to members who run u3as.

The Role

The Volunteer Recruitment Officer will lead structured volunteer growth and engagement across REMAP’s national branch network. Routine administrative onboarding processes sit within the wider team. This role is focused on delivering measurable growth in active volunteer capacity and engagement.

Recruitment and the Volunteer Cycle 
Lead on drafting volunteer role descriptions in collaboration with the recruitment
lead. 
Undertake advertising of volunteer opportunities across multiple platforms
ensuring best practice in relation to safer recruitment and equal opportunities

The Silver Line Helpline is recruiting for a Helpline Volunteer Co-ordinator to join their fantastic team providing a vital service to older people across the UK. The Silver Line Helpline is a free, confidential telephone service offering friendship, conversation and support to older people, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As a Helpline Volunteer Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting and growing a valued team of volunteers who deliver a high-quality, safe and compassionate service to older people. You'll ensure volunteers receive a good onboarding experience, feel confident in their role and are supported every step of the way.

Working closely with colleagues across the Helpline, you'll manage volunteer recruitment and onboarding, deliver training, respond to enquiries, and help volunteers use a range of IT systems. You'll work flexibly in a fast-paced, 24-hour service environment, including taking and making calls to older people when needed. Your work will help ensure volunteers are well-trained, supported, and empowered to deliver a consistent, empathetic and safe service.

This exciting position offers hybrid working between home and our Blackpool office. We currently require office attendance a minimum of once a quarter. You may also be asked to attend the office occasionally for training or other reasons, as required. You will be on a hybrid contract and must cover the costs of all travel to the office yourself. Purpose of the Job 

We are looking for the Volunteer Manager to play a key role in supporting our volunteers at our well-established East Anglia Depot. You will be accountable for recruiting and retaining volunteers, supporting them on a daily basis, and working closely with the Operations team to deliver a highly positive volunteer experience. Data management, analysis and reporting is also an essential part of this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the end-to-end volunteer experience at the East Anglia Depot

• Recruit, induct, and support volunteers

• Handle individual volunteers’ queries and issues

Rye Harbour Nature Reserve & Discovery Centre is a welcoming and inclusive workplace. Primarily an office-based role within the incredible Discovery Centre building at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The Volunteer Coordinator oversees recruitment and retention of volunteers at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, ensuring safeguarding requirements are met including DBS checks and references where appropriate. Developing new and innovative approaches to volunteering to attract new volunteers, keeping existing volunteers engaged and promoting diversity in the organisation. Managing volunteer rotas, providing volunteer support and ensuring effective delivery of all volunteer activities. Planning and implementing a range of activities and events to acknowledge and thank volunteers for their contribution. Maintaining and updating existing volunteer data base. Ensuring data retained by Sussex Wildlife Trust is relevant and up to date. The Volunteer Coordinator supports the Discovery Centre team and helps with daily operations of the visitor centre whenever possible.

LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people.

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to support our volunteers and staff team to have an efficient and enjoyable volunteer programme. You will coordinate volunteer recruitment, social events and training, and as part of ‘Team People’, you will work to support the wider team to ensure volunteers and their supervisors are fully supported and deployed effectively. In addition, part of your role will be to support on a funded project or programme of work for LGBT Foundation (4 hours per week). 

The post holder will be responsible for: 

• Volunteer Recruitment: Coordinating volunteer recruitment and onboarding, including collecting references, carrying out DBS checks and running inductions. 

• Volunteer Retention and Recognition: Coordinating the volunteer social calendar, training opportunities and end of year survey. Supporting with the planning and delivery of the annual Volunteer Awards.

• Management of administration of the volunteer programme: Ensuring volunteer records are accurate and that admin tasks are carried out with a high level of attention to detail. 

• Support volunteer supervisors: Work closely with staff who supervise volunteers, including coordinating bi-monthly catch-up meetings, training and other support. 

• Project work: Provide support for Village Heroes for LGBT Foundation 4 hours per week.

Sydenham Garden is seeking a Community Activities & Volunteering Lead on a Fixed term contract to end of December 2027 to join our team of 14 staff and approximately 70 volunteers in delivering adult mental health and dementia services in our beautiful garden settings in south-east London. 

Position: Community Activities & Volunteering Lead

Contract: Fixed term to 31st December 2027, full time - 37.5 hours per week. Some regular working outside Monday-Friday 9-5 may be required, for which TOIL will be available. Part time and flexible working applications also considered.

Salary: £32,644 plus 6% pension contribution.

Annual Leave: 33 days inclusive of Bank Holidays.

About the role

Sydenham Garden, based in Lewisham in South-East London, is a unique wellbeing centre utilising its gardens, nature reserve and activity rooms to help people living with and recovering from mental and physical ill-health. We provide nature and arts based creative, social and therapeutic activities for co-workers (the name we give to our primary beneficiaries). With funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to help us ‘grow our community’ and increase the sustainability of our impact we’re seeking a Community Activities & Volunteering Lead to drive continuous improvement and development of volunteer-led community activities for the benefit of co-workers as well as managing the day to day running of our volunteer programme.

About you

You’ll have experience of recruiting, working with, and managing volunteers, including delivery of skill-building and development activities for volunteers with Lived Experience of mental and/or physical ill health. You’ll have excellent people skills and the ability to demonstrate sensitivity, kindness, and a person-centred understanding of different mental, physical, and neurological needs. You’ll have experience of delivering group activities and working with people with mental/physical-ill health and/or dementia. You’ll have line management experience and be able to provide strategic direction as well as be able to innovate and develop new initiatives and balance competing priorities while being willing to play a team role and get stuck into different activities.

Our incredible volunteers run more than 200 branches and locations across the UK and Ireland. They offer their time to help to deliver our 24-hour emotional support service to callers in many ways, from answering telephones and emails, to fundraising, generating publicity, administration and finance.

About the Role

Our Volunteer Experience Team support over 20,000 volunteers and no two days are the same. You’ll be responsible for supporting our network of volunteers and volunteer leaders in engaging and managing volunteers, as well as involved in a variety of creative new projects helping us to provide a positive and rewarding experience for anyone that gives their time to Samaritans.

You’ll play a key advisory, analytical and development focused role, supporting volunteers and volunteer leaders on all volunteer management matters, including sensitive and sometimes complex situations. You’ll also deliver impactful initiatives and projects that strengthen and enhance the volunteer experience, helping shape the ongoing development of Samaritans’ volunteer management and support practices.​

About the Charity

From Me to You is an inspiring charity dedicated to alleviating loneliness and isolation for people living with cancer. We make connections for people living with cancer through the simple, powerful act of letter writing easing loneliness and bringing comfort, hope and human connection, one letter at a time.  Each year thousands of anonymous letters are collated by our team of volunteers and then given to patients at home, in hospitals or cancer centres by nurses and our charity partners. Recent feedback showed that 93% of our letter recipients reported that the letters lifted their mood and a quarter said that they made them feel less alone, with 80% saying that our letters made them feel cared for. Our work is powered by a passionate community of volunteers, in 2025 with their help we processed over 17,000 letters from all over the world, delivering them to cancer patients throughout the UK. 

Our Donate a Letter programme supports our 2,500+ Volunteer Letter Writers to contribute anonymous letters, some people write a couple of letters a year, others one a week. These letters are all delivered to our PO Box in Ascot. They are then sorted, read and processed by our wonderful team of local Donate a Letter Volunteers. These volunteers also then repackaged and redistributed the suitable letters to cancer patients through our partnership with hospitals, cancer centres and other charities that act as distribution partners. 

About the Role

We are seeking an organised and people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to manage and support our volunteer network. The role involves overseeing our Community Ambassadors based across the UK who support the charity through fundraising, awareness and community activities, as well as a core team of volunteers (based in Ascot) who process our donated letters by reading, filtering, packaging, and posting them to recipients. This is a key role ensuring our volunteers feel supported, informed, and motivated, while helping the charity operate smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Management

• Coordinate and support a team of Community Ambassadors

• Manage the core volunteer team responsible for letter processing in the Ascot area.

• Act as the main point of contact for volunteers, responding to queries and providing guidance

• Help recruit, onboard, and train new volunteers as needed.

• Implement process improvements to make operation scalable.

Operations & Safeguarding

• Oversee the letter processing workflow: reading, filtering, packaging, and posting

• Ensure volunteers follow charity guidelines, safeguarding policies, and data protection requirements

• Escalate any sensitive or concerning issues appropriately

Communication & Engagement

• Maintain regular communication with volunteers to keep them engaged and informed

• Share updates and best practices

Administration

What We’re Looking For:
