Key Responsibilities

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.

One of two Outreach and Project Workers pivotal to the delivery of an exciting new Women at Risk (WaR) project which will support women at risk of rough sleeping, homelessness and exploitation. Working across key areas of Enfield and Haringey you will, through a combination of nighttime outreach and daytime service provision, be critical to supporting a coordinated response across multiple agencies already engaged in this work.

You will undertake at least twice weekly nighttime outreach, support additional services and existing outreach provision and develop a daytime offer that meets the needs of women engaged through outreach and identified as at high risk of harm and homelessness.   

You will have responsibility for a caseload of women identified through outreach, referral and presentation at ours and other services. You will provide advocacy, casework support and connection and referral into other agencies which can help them address their needs.

About the roles

Based with our partner organisation, Doncaster Housing for Young People, you will ensure you deliver high quality legal services through casework, the Housing Loss Prevention Advice Scheme and ensuring Legal Aid contract requirements and performance targets are met.

Solicitor

You will challenge unfair housing practices and systemic causes of homelessness through strategic casework and litigation. Working closely with our Sheffield team and the Managing Solicitor to strengthen housing rights awareness across the region, you will support Legal Advisers, ensuring high professional standards and compliance.

Paralegal

You will help our solicitors to maintain an active caseload, enabling our clients to enforce their housing rights. Your role will be varied and will include taking instructions and witness statements, drafting letters, making applications, providing court representation and making sure time recording and income targets are met. Please note this role is being advertised as a Paralegal but on appointment the job title will be Legal Adviser.

About You

For the Solicitor role, we are open to newly qualified candidates with a demonstrable interest in social justice, as well as those who have 3+ years PQE and a strong track record in housing law and Legal Aid work. You will have experience or a demonstrable interest in legal practice in the private or not for profit sector with experience of working on a wide range of housing cases, knowledge of legal aid, housing, homelessness and welfare law. You have the ability to research, write reports, time record and meet financial targets, as well as meeting or be willing to develop to meet the Housing Supervisor Requirements (September 2023).

For the Paralegal role you will need a good understanding of litigation work, be able to carry out legal research and provide a good standard of professional service and client care. You will have excellent communication skills, both in writing/drafting and face-to-face along with proficiency using case management systems and time recording, as well as the ability to manage your time and workload. If you have housing law experience and knowledge of Legal Aid/ CCMS this would be an advantage. You enjoy collaborating as part of a team, respond quickly and positively to change and are not afraid to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas when appropriate.

Our legal Teams (Managing Solicitors, Solicitors, Legal Advisors and Trainees) are based throughout our England hubs. We are currently based in London, Plymouth, Bristol, Norwich, Birmingham, Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Sheffield and Newcastle.

You will be part of an existing multi-disciplinary team that offers housing and homelessness advice and support across South Yorkshire. It consists of a solicitor led legal team providing advice and representation, and an advice service providing advice, support and guided self-help to people with housing, debt or welfare benefit issues. There is also a committed and skilled team of volunteers that offer peer support, mentoring and more general volunteering, adding significant value to our core service offer.

About the team

The WaterAid media team is busy, ambitious, fast paced and fun. We strategically lead on both proactive and reactive media activity engaging with journalists to support WaterAid’s mass engagement campaigns (e.g. campaigning for no mother to give birth without safe water), partnerships (like designing celebrity toilets at Glastonbury, or creating PR campaigns for our Wimbledon Foundation partnership), brand awareness and political influencing.    

About the role

As our Senior Media Officer, your will support the Senior PR manager to deliver the public relations function for WaterAid across digital and traditional media and work closely with the team and other colleagues across our fundraising, partnership and advocacy teams to drive ambitious and sustainable change.  

In this role, you will:

• Develop and deliver innovative integrated, digital-first PR campaigns that achieve impactful national, international, local and digital coverage, to support our fundraising and public engagement activities, build WaterAid’s profile, and align with wider organisational aims   
• Take a project lead on high-profile strategic partnerships to deliver media projects that meet shared objectives and help our partners become influencers in their sector to drive change    
• Work with the Celebrity and Influencer team to develop effective ways to work with high-profile supporters to build awareness of WaterAid and our work  
• Shoot, edit and upload digital content for our digital media outlets including TikTok and YouTube 
• Build and maintain relationships with key journalists and broadcasters including the planning and managing of trips to country programmes with journalists, celebrities or for content gathering  
• Join the 24/7 on-call rota (aprox every 6-8 weeks) and be prepared for travel in the UK and overseas - usually around two weeks per year - as well as some work outside normal office hours, as necessary

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Excellent command of written and verbal English to produce written media work of high quality 

• Proven experience of working in an in-house press office / PR agency or as a journalist 

• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of digital platforms including TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram 

• Strong understanding of the UK and global media landscape, with an excellent nose for a story and established relationships with key journalists and media outlets for major UK and global titles. 

• Proven experience of delivering effective and innovative integrated, multi-channel media campaigns with digital media at their core   

• Understanding of how the media can be used as an influencing tool – whether to encourage fundraising and engagement or influence decision makers 

• Ability to forge effective/ strong working relationships within the team and with colleagues from across the organisation 

• Proven ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

1. Income Generation

· Maximise fundraising and revenue opportunities through community engagement delivering a number of community based initiatives to generate income over the year.

· Lead on delivery of the fundraising strategy to maximise funding opportunities.

· Developing Business links to encourage fundraising from the business community &  to develop lasting partnerships.

· Research trust and foundations and write targeted applications to support our work and achieve fundraising targets.

3. General Duties

• Work with the Volunteer Officer to create a cohesive team of fundraising volunteers who will support events and activities to generate income.
• Help to support and train  volunteers / peer mentors in gaining experience and skills so they are confident to deliver fundraising activities without staff support.
• To manage and maintain effective records of activities and income generated so this can be evaluated.
• To record and manage donations of goods and services as well as gift vouchers so we have accurate records of usage
• Lead on standard merchandise production and of items such as pens and other logo items as well as the hidden phone number items.
• Be the primary point of contact for all promotional or networking  opportunities and working with the Head of Enabling Services and the CEO to maintain those relationships.
• Act in a professional manner in a way that reflects Pathway’s overall aims and values
• Attend meetings where appropriate  both independently and with colleagues.

This is an exciting time to join the MND Association, following the launch of our new brand in January and with a new CRM scheduled for implementation. CAFOD is seeking an Evidence and Learning Advisor to support International Programmes (IP) during a period of maternity cover. The role plays a key part in embedding evidence and learning within CAFOD’s Integral Ecology Programme Model (IEPM), which underpins delivery of our strategic framework, Our Common Home.

Working within the Programme Quality Support Team and reporting to the Programme Quality Lead, the postholder will cultivate a strong culture of evidence-based reflection and adaptation across programmes. The role involves primarily distance-based working, with some potential for international travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate core learning processes, including programme deep dives and the Annual Review and Adaptation (ARA).
• Lead the update of International Programmes’ Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) approach, ensuring alignment with the IEPM and reporting needs.
• Provide technical MEL advice and capacity support to programme teams and partners, including contributions to reviews, evaluations and institutional fundraising work.
• Facilitate cross-regional and cross-thematic learning, producing practical knowledge products for internal and external use.
• Support learning-focused events, communications, and engagement with external networks, donors and peers.

Person Specification

• Proven experience in evidencing and learning within development and humanitarian programmes, particularly partnership-based models.
• Experience working across multiple themes and regions, with an ability to communicate complex learning clearly.
• Strong skills in developing guidance, tools, systems and training, and in coaching to build capability.
• Experience supporting institutional fundraising processes and synthesising learning for varied audiences.

As Director of External Affairs across the Bild Group of four small charities (with collective turnover of approx. £3m/yr), you will have a deep commitment to human rights and improving people’s lives.

You will provide strategic direction and leadership to the External Relations function across all four charities in the group, taking overall responsibility for and providing thought-leadership on our strategic approach to policy, influencing, public affairs, stakeholder engagement. 

You will play a lead role in planning, developing, and implementing the communication and external relations and wider engagement strategic plan to grow awareness and profile of Bild, Respond, Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) and ACT.

By sharing the impact of our work and programmes in improving the lives of people with learning disabilities, autism and /or mental health conditions, you will support Bild in becoming the sector leading provider of organisational and workforce development (and RRN in becoming the leading charity in reducing restrictive practices globally – and Respond as leaders in trauma informed therapy).

You will champion Bild and RRN’s brand, vision, mission and values acting as an ambassador for the organisation both internally and externally to partners, stakeholders and media.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

Strategic Leadership:  

• Develop and implement an integrated communications and external relations strategy across the four charities in the group to raise our profile and to influence change which positively impacts on our beneficiaries, aligning media, campaigning, and public affairs with the charity’s mission and strategic priorities

Comms & Marketing:

• Plan, develop and implement strategic communications and marketing plans to maximise awareness of the Bild Group of charities across the broad spectrum of communications disciplines including media relations, stakeholder management, influencer engagement, ethical (impact focused) marketing, social and new media and the production of new materials and resources

Our Legal Practice Unit provides advice and representation primarily under legal aid contract. About the role

This role will provide leadership and management for CCLC particularly focused on the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. The role will be accountable for maximising the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs and will hold responsibility for the unit’s billing systems. It will also be responsible for private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing including through line management of the billing team. The post-holder will work very closely with legal, operations and administrative staff. The role will act as a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders including Coram’s central finance team who will support the role with grant fund management and overall accounting functions for CCLC. The post-holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights and department heads in the successful maintenance of our relationship with the Legal Aid Agency. Where appropriate they will be deputising for the Managing Director on legal aid and financial matters.

The role would suit a highly organised and efficient legal, or a finance or billing professional with solid experience of legal practice and a deep understanding of the challenges of legal aid. Whilst candidates with direct experience of legal billing (and more specifically civil legal aid billing) are welcomed, we recognise that this is a highly specialised and niche field. As such, this role could suit a highly experienced solicitor who appreciates the important role developing sustainable businesses plays in ensuring access to justice and who therefore wishes to move into practice and financial management. They will need an aptitude for processing large amounts of data, developing and managing spreadsheets and improving organisational systems. However, they will be well supported through training, an enthusiastic and competent junior billing team, the central finance team and an outsourced legal cashiering company, as well as a friendly and collaborative management team including the Managing Director and the Heads of Education Law, Community Care Law and Immigration and Asylum Law.

This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the billing team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period and there will be flexibility over how the four days will be spread across the week (within working hours). The team are mostly based in the London office and with one billing team member in Colchester so the post holder may require some occasional travel.
