Salary: £44,000–£47,000
Hours: Full time or part time (0.8-1.0FTE)
Contract: Permanent
Sector: Education
Help young people with an affinity for mathematics thrive.
We're looking for a Data + Insights Manager to build shared data systems, analyse national data and help a network of schools make better decisions.
This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious charity at an exciting stage of its development. You'll help schools collect and use data more effectively, develop shared systems that save time and improve practice, and build the insight that helps schools, funders and U-Maths make better decisions.
If you enjoy turning real-world data into practical insight and want your work to have a national impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Why U-Maths?
U-Maths is the national charity for University Maths Schools.
Our vision is that every young person with an affinity for mathematics can thrive and succeed.
Our mission is to advance excellence and equity in mathematics education by strengthening and growing the national network of University Maths Schools.
There are currently nine state-funded University Maths Schools, each established in partnership with a leading university and specialising in mathematics and the mathematical sciences for students aged 16–19. The network continues to grow, with two further schools in Nottingham and Durham due to open.
Together, these schools are helping more young people – particularly those from backgrounds currently under-represented in the mathematical sciences – to access an outstanding mathematics education and progress to ambitious futures.
Why this role?
Schools are stronger when they work together.
By developing shared data systems, high-quality analysis and robust evidence at national level, U-Maths helps every University Maths School understand its work, strengthen its impact and reduce unnecessary duplication.
As our Data + Insights Manager, you'll play a central role in making that happen.
About the role
You'll lead U-Maths' work on data and insight across the network.
You'll help schools collect, manage and use data more effectively, develop and support a shared outreach CRM, produce high-quality reporting for schools and funders, and strengthen the evidence that helps U-Maths understand and improve its impact.
You'll also work with partners such as the Observatory for Mathematical Education to support robust national analysis and benchmarking where specialist expertise is needed.
What you'll be doing
You'll:
About you
You'll enjoy this role if you like making sense of data, improving systems and helping other people use them well.
You might have developed your skills in education, the charity sector, widening participation, evaluation, operations, CRM implementation or another setting where careful use of data matters. We're more interested in the skills, judgement and approach you bring than in where you have gained them.
We're looking for someone who:
Why join us?
You'll be joining a small national team with the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to one of the UK's most successful educational innovations.
We offer:
We're aiming for the successful candidate to start on 1 December 2026, with some flexibility.

· Taking the lead on some of the key social issues affecting local communities
· Nurturing positive working relationships with parishes
· Offering advice and signposting on funding, partnerships, and best practice
· Developing and analysing local demographic data to inform parish strategy
· Delivering and collating surveys and listening exercises, and facilitating events and focus groups
· Coordinating and expanding community networks across the Diocese
· Encouraging and equipping parish volunteers and community hubs
· Building strong relationships with parishes and external partner organisations
· Acting as a bridge between local churches and wider community stakeholders
· Working in collaboration with other departments within the Diocese on shared endeavours that help support the Diocesan Strategy.
You will be a visible and supportive presence across the Diocese—helping churches to connect deeply with their communities and respond with creativity, compassion, and confidence.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
· A disciple of Jesus with a deep commitment to faith in action and social justice
· Passionate about faith in action and addressing the 3rd and 4th Marks of Mission
· Experienced in community engagement, social action or the voluntary sector through working in the charity, local authority or public sector
· Has experience of organising and leaving events and focus groups
· A skilled communicator who is approachable, encouraging, and adaptable
· A natural networker who can build strong partnerships across sectors
· Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects
· Experienced in project coordination and working with volunteers
· Comfortable analysing and presenting data to support local planning
· Confident using Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
Desirable: Bid-writing experience, and familiarity with Church of England parish structures and contexts.
There is an Occupational Requirement (OR) for the postholder to be a communicant member of the Church of England (or a Church in communion with it, or a member Church of Churches Together in England, Council of Churches for Britain and Ireland, or the Evangelical Alliance).
This role will include travel across the Diocese including some evenings and weekends.
What we can offer:
· Flexible working, hybrid working and TOIL
· Generous holiday entitlement
· Contributory pension scheme
· Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and counselling service
The Diocese is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.

Everyone deserves good mental health.
The Mental Health Foundation is the UK's leading charity focused on the prevention of poor mental health. For more than 75 years, we have combined research, policy, campaigning and public engagement to challenge the causes of poor mental health and drive lasting change.
Today, mental health outcomes across the UK are worsening, particularly for children and young people. While services remain focused on responding to crisis, we believe prevention must become the foundation of the UK's approach to mental health. Our new five-year strategy, ‘A Call to Act: Fighting for Prevention in Mental Health’ sets out an ambitious vision to achieve that change.
Why we are recruiting
After eight successful years, our current Chief Executive will be stepping down, creating an exciting opportunity for a new leader to guide the Foundation through its next phase of growth and impact.
The organisation enters this transition from a position of strength: a clear and ambitious strategy, a talented and committed team of around 70 staff across the UK, strong finances, a respected national profile, a supportive Board and committed Chair.
The opportunity
As Chief Executive, you will be the chief ambassador of the Foundation. You will lead the delivery of our new strategy, strengthen our influence with governments, policymakers and partners, and ensure we continue to grow our impact and income.
Working closely with the Board, a highly capable Senior Leadership Team, supporters and partners, you will champion prevention as the solution to the UK's mental health crisis, helping to shape policy, public understanding and systemic change across our priority areas:
· Championing prevention: so that we can prevent mental health problems before they take root, tackling the causes instead of waiting to treat the symptoms.
· Online worlds: so that people are protected from harm and are more mentally healthy in their online activity.
· Bullying and discrimination: so that children and young people are protected from the life-long harms these can lead to.
· Working lives: so that young people can thrive in mentally-healthy workplaces that support their wellbeing.
This is an opportunity to lead one of the UK's most respected charities and improve the lives of millions of people.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an inspiring, values-driven leader with the credibility, ambition and vision to take the Foundation forward.
You will bring:
Knowledge of mental health, public health, prevention, related research, or campaigning would be highly advantageous, though we welcome applications from candidates with transferable leadership experience and relevant insights from closely adjacent or intersecting sectors.
Join us
This is a rare opportunity to lead a nationally respected organisation at a pivotal moment for mental health in the UK. If you are passionate about creating long-term social change and have the leadership skills to inspire people, influence systems and deliver impact at scale, we would love to hear from you.
To read more about the organisation and role, please download the full appointment brief.
Together, we can build a future where everyone can live with the good mental health they deserve.
