Payroll Manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead and manage the end-to-end payroll function across a large national organisation. This is a home-based role with occasional travel as required.

The Role

As a Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of the full payroll lifecycle for a workforce of approximately 1,500–2,000+ employees, ensuring an accurate, compliant and timely payroll service.

You will lead a small payroll team, working closely with Finance and HR to ensure strong governance, reporting and continuous improvement across payroll operations.

As a Payroll Manager, you will:

• Lead the delivery of end-to-end payroll processing across monthly cycles
• Ensure payroll is accurate, compliant and delivered on time
• Manage payroll reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements
• Oversee complex payroll elements including statutory payments, deductions and variable pay
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Payroll Officers
• Act as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders across Finance and HR
• Provide payroll insights and reporting to support financial planning and decision-making
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes and systems
• Support system optimisation and work towards reducing manual processes
• Ensure submissions to HMRC and pension providers are accurate and timely

About You

Ideally, you will have significant experience managing payroll operations within a medium to large organisation, along with strong leadership and technical expertise.

You will be confident working in a complex, fast-paced environment and able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance.

You will need:

• Proven experience managing payroll for a large workforce (1,000+ employees)
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience leading and developing payroll teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working in a controlled or audit-focused environment
• Experience using payroll and HR systems (e.g. IRIS, Cascade or similar)
• A proactive approach to improving processes and systems

Experience within the charity sector or working in a complex, multi-site organisation would be advantageous.

Community Support Lead: Partnerships 

Reports to: Community Support Manager 
Contract: Full-time 

Role Purpose 

As Community Support Lead: Partnerships, you will play a key role in strengthening the relationships that underpin HOST’s work, ensuring every hosted partner (HP) receives consistent, responsive, and values-driven support. 

You will lead on partner onboarding, engagement, and ongoing support, ensuring needs are met with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency. This includes managing communications around invoices and payments, responding to general queries, and proactively identifying and escalating potential risks. 

Blending strong attention to detail with a people-first approach, you will shape and continuously improve the partner experience — from initial onboarding through to long-term collaboration — ensuring every interaction reflects HOST’s mission to support the world’s change-makers. 

Core Responsibilities 

1. Partner Engagement and Onboarding

• Lead Welcome, Onboarding, and regular check-in calls with hosted partners, building clarity, trust, and consistency in every interaction. 

• Provide clear guidance on HOST’s systems, processes, and expectations, ensuring each partner journey is well-defined and smoothly implemented. 

• Identify risks, issues, or emerging support needs during interactions, and promptly share these with the Community Support Manager. 

• Support escalations and follow-up actions to maintain a high-quality, responsive partner experience. 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications, ensuring relevant information, issues, and risks are clearly documented and shared across the team. 

• Negotiate PAYF contributions, add-on pricing, and additional services, ensuring partner needs are met efficiently and effectively. 

Reporting cadence: Weekly summary and inclusion in monthly CS reporting. 

2. Query Resolution and Partner Care 

• Respond to general hosted partner queries with accuracy, clarity, and empathy, achieving a minimum 90% satisfaction score. 

• Ensure at least 90% of queries receive an initial response within 24 hours. 

• Maintain consistently high standards of written and verbal communication, reflecting HOST’s values of integrity, care, and responsiveness. 

• Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to ensure partner needs are resolved promptly and effectively. 

Reporting cadence: Weekly dashboard updates and monthly performance reporting. 

3. Partner Relationship and Invoice Management 

• Work closely with hosted partners to amend invoices and resolve payment queries accurately and in a timely manner. 

• Ensure all payment-related communications and outcomes are clearly documented in ClickUp and Zendesk. 

• Monitor and report on invoice corrections, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvement. 

Reporting cadence: Monthly 

4. Risk Identification, Screening and Escalation 

• Identify and assess potential financial, operational, or reputational risks arising from partner interactions. 

• Conduct initial screening of partner-related concerns in line with HOST’s due diligence processes. 

• Escalate identified risks promptly to the Community Support Manager or relevant stakeholders for review and mitigation. 

• Contribute to monthly Community Support risk reporting and ongoing team learning. 

Reporting cadence: Real-time escalation of risks, with consolidated monthly reporting. 

5. Community Support Administration 

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records across ClickUp, Zendesk, and internal systems. 

• Support the review and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and clarity across processes. 

• Contribute to internal administrative tasks, ensuring operational readiness for audits, reviews, and ongoing compliance. 

Reporting cadence: Monthly 

6. Community Support Resources and User Journey 

• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Community Support materials, guidance, and onboarding resources. 

• Support the enhancement of the hosted partner user journey, ensuring all touchpoints are clear, consistent, and aligned with HOST’s values. 

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify gaps and opportunities to strengthen the overall partner experience. 

Reporting cadence: Quarterly reviews with recommendations for improvement. 

7. Growth and Learning Areas (Development Focus) 

• Take ownership of more complex hosted partners with advanced operational or financial requirements. 

• Support the development of new Community Support Leads through training, mentoring, and sharing best practice. 

• Deliver or support hosted partner Health Checks, ensuring all follow-up actions and documentation are completed effectively. 

Reporting cadence: As directed by the Community Support Manager.

Job Purpose

 The Head of Corporate Partnerships is accountable for delivering substantial and sustained income growth from the private sector, with clear ownership of income targets, pipeline strength and conversion performance.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Corporate Partnerships Strategy & Growth

· Develop, implement and continuously refine a high-value corporate partnerships strategy aligned to organisational growth ambitions

· Deliver significant year-on-year income growth, contributing to the target to double corporate income within three years

· Lead the development of market-leading ESG-aligned partnership propositions, linked to SDGs, climate resilience and inclusive housing

· Identify, prioritise and unlock opportunities with UK-headquartered multinationals and national corporate partners

Income Generation & New Business Delivery

· Personally lead the end-to-end development of strategic partnerships—from prospect identification through to negotiation and contract

· Deliver against agreed annual income and new business targets (anticipated to be £1.3m and £500k+ in year one), with a clear trajectory for sustained growth.

Global Volunteering Programme

· Lead and develop the Corporate Partnerships team, currently comprising the New Business Manager and Volunteer Coordinator, with planned responsibility for the Corporate Partnerships Manager and New Business Executive roles as these positions are recruited

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to grow support for our work in the UK and internationally. 

You will lead the implementation of our 2026–2028 fundraising strategy, develop compelling supporter journeys and creating inspiring propositions that connect donors with the difference their generosity makes. Working closely with the CEO, Senior Management Team and Fundraising Committee, you will bring focus, energy and professional fundraising expertise to a charity with a loyal supporter base and significant potential for growth. 

Key Details:

Location:  UK (Flexible: Remote or Hybrid if preferred). There will be a few in-person meetings/events in our London office or other specific venues each year, with flexibility to work where convenient (office or home) most of the time. 

Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (0.6 FTE). Flexibility over how hours are distributed across the week.

Salary:  £37,000 – £43,000 FTE, pro rata (c. £22,200 - £25,800 for 3 days per week), depending on experience

What You will do:

• Lead the delivery of HOPE worldwide UK’s fundraising strategy, with clear plans, priorities, KPIs and income targets.
• Develop a compelling case for support that inspires existing donors, re-engages lapsed supporters and reaches new and younger audiences.
• Design and deliver segmented supporter journeys across individual giving, regular giving, appeals and stewardship activity.

The Role

As Wellbeing Services Manager, you will provide day-to-day support to a growing team of independent, contracted counsellors. Working closely with the Wellbeing Director, you will contribute to governance, protocol development, administrative coordination, and quality assurance across the service.

This is a role for someone who combines experience in therapeutic pathways and counselling governance and processes, with the leadership skills and technological confidence needed to thrive in a fast-moving, fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Counselling practice

Person Specification

Qualifications & professional membership

• Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (completed); higher qualifications welcomed.

• Full BACP membership, or the UK equivalent professional body registration.

Experience

• Experience managing a team of counsellors, including providing internal oversight of service delivery, distinct from the formal clinical supervision counsellors hold independently as a condition of their professional registration.

• Significant, demonstrable experience in transgender and gender-affirming healthcare at a senior level.

• Proven ability to manage risk, safeguarding, and ethically complex presentations.

• Experience in a mentoring or counselling lead capacity.

• Familiarity with the unique needs of trans+ and gender-diverse people across a range of presentations.

Additionally, the post holder will have the opportunity to further develop their skills and understanding of corporate fundraising by supporting the Partnerships Team to develop and launch an exciting portfolio of corporate products and events, paying close attention to the evolving needs of partners in an ever-increasing digital environment.

You will be involved with flagship events and campaigns such as globally-recognised Baby Loss Awareness Week, award-winning Sands United Football Club, Big Give appeals and sector-leading collaborations.

You will draw upon your expertise and creativity by working on creatives and concepts with the team to increase engagement and further develop communication channels appropriate to a diverse corporate audience.

We are looking for someone who has an eye for detail, able to manage

their time effectively and ensure the highest supporter experience. The

role will also provide support to colleagues within the Income &

Engagement Department to optimise income and awareness raising

activities.

Key Responsibilities

Partnerships & Supporter Care

• Assist in maintaining relationships with new and existing partners, donors

and stakeholders.

• Provide excellent account management of Sands’ small Charity of the

Year and other corporate partners (as a guideline those giving up to

£20,000)

• Support Partnerships Team to achieve and grow overall team budget

and support wider partnership portfolio.

• Act as a key point of contact for partner enquiries and actively solicit

donations and/or partnership opportunities.

• Ensure that approaches and donations are responded to, and thanked,

in a timely manner.

• Support delivery of corporate-specific appeals, campaigns and events.

• Deliver well managed and well-developed partnership stewardship and

communications.

• Act as a champion to inspire and motivate supporters to fundraise and

raise awareness of Sands, and attend meetings and presentations as

required.

• Collate and provide engaging and dynamic partnership content for

supporter resources, newsletters and mailings.

• Maintain ongoing communications by telephone and email, building

relationships with fundraisers and potential donors, ensuring each

individual is appropriately stewarded to maximise supporter experience.

• Maintain appropriate contracts or letters of agreements for donors and

partners as required.

• Support the Partnerships Team in the management of other partnerships

through specific initiatives, such as events support and employee

volunteering as required.

• Undertake due diligence in line with Sands’ Ethical Policy and robust

vetting criteria.

• Work closely with colleagues to ensure Supporter Care work is kept up to

date and that the service we offer is the best it can be. Administrative and

Database Management

• Support the Partnerships Team to maintain accurate records and timely

reports in the charity CRM and shared drive, in compliance with data

protection legislation and best practice.

• Work closely with project and finance teams to gather information,

maintain high standards of accuracy at all times to ensure partnerships

and finance data management including tracking and invoicing.

• Effectively monitor partnership activity and finances, ensuring accurate

gift processing and support the Strategic Partnerships Manager with

timely income, expenditure and quarterly KPI reports.

• Assist in partnership activities, deliverables, and ensuring internal and

external deadlines are met.

• Support the Partnerships Team’s communication and engagement plans,

collating dynamic social media content and scheduling, and supporting

cross-team projects like case study work, campaign activity and new

corporate fundraising products.

• Assist in partnership volunteering, events, meetings and workshop

coordination. Including logistical support such as venue bookings,

attendance tracking and evaluations.

Cross-team working

• Contribute to the wider team’s efforts in fundraising, marketing and

project coordination.

• Work closely with all colleagues in the Income & Engagement

Department to seize cross team opportunities to increase income and

awareness and to develop appropriate products and engagement tools.

• Liaise with other Sands internal teams as necessary in the preparation of

proposals, meetings, reports and communications to companies.

• Provide support to fundraising colleagues when needed to maintain

excellent supporter care.

General

• To undertake other duties as required by the Head of Partnerships and

Philanthropy, Strategic Partnerships Manager, Business Development

Lead, and Director of Income & Engagement.

• To work flexibly and proactively with other members of the team.

• Keep up to date with sector knowledge regarding corporate and

events fundraising, fundraising techniques, resources and donor trends

and share knowledge with colleagues across Sands where relevant.

• Follow best fundraising regulations practice and comply with relevant

legislation.

• To maintain confidentiality over personal information relating to staff.

• Abide by all Sands Policies and Procedures.

• Undertake all mandatory training as required.

• Participate in annual appraisal and personal development review.

• The post holder must familiarise themselves with matters relating to

Health & Safety Management, as affecting themselves, their department

and the organisation as a whole.
