The Deputy Head of Fundraising will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission. Thames Reach’s Outreach teams operate across London and helps those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond rapidly and work flexibly to reach people. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those offering immigration support.

You will:
• Complete outreach shifts, providing a rapid response to referrals for people who are rough sleeping across four districts (Mole Valley district council, Tandridge district council, Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, Reigate and Banstead borough council).
• Support our clients with practical tasks that will enable them to move off of the streets or sustain accommodation.
• Directly support clients, identifying activities that will assist in their journey towards recovery and away from life on the streets.
• Maintain and support links with community programs and resources.
• Ensure that all paperwork is completed and work is recorded and monitored.
To succeed as the Assistant Support Worker you will have:

This exciting Grant Communications Manager role will place you at the heart of communicating the impact of what the Charity funds. You will be responsible for supporting and leading varied communications about the Charity’s large and varied programme of funded projects to colleagues, supporters and the public. This includes scientific and medical research; family, patient and staff support programmes, vital technology and equipment and our state-of-the-art redevelopment and buildings.
The post holder will work closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital and its academic partner the Institute of Child Health in UCL, seeing the real-life impact the Charity makes for our beneficiaries.
About the Team
This exciting role sits within the Impact and Charitable Programmes Department. The Department is responsible for ensuring charitable funding supports the highest quality projects within our funding portfolio. The department is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating funded projects to ensure greatest impact, and providing support to fundraising teams with information on the projects the Charity funds.
About You
You will have demonstrable communications experience in the research, health or charity sector, with experience of communicating with a variety of audiences through different methods. You will also develop excellent working relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders at the hospital, UCL Institute of Child Health and across the Charity.
Specifically, you will have:
- A degree in a relevant scientific or health-related discipline or equivalent experience, and a passion for child health and research
- Communication experience, in the health or charity sector.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, understanding complex scientific or clinical concepts and translating these into inspiring information and presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to network and establish good working relationships.

Digital CRM Migration Specialist
We have an exciting opportunity with a 12-month fixed term contract where we are looking for an experienced digital marketer who is process and data driven. This role is integral to migrating digital systems and processes to a new CRM database, improving them as we optimise new functionality. This is working as part of a transformational project team to ensure Mencap is set for the future for supporter engagement.
As the Digital CRM Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for defining digital data points and mapping digital data flows through to the new CRM and Marketing Cloud. This will mean supporting the CRM steering group in defining digital user journeys and optimising the configuration of our new CRM and Marketing Cloud to ensure we optimise their functionality to ultimately raise vital funds and mobilise key audiences to support people with a learning disability.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, full-time role. We offer flexible working with at least one day per week (Tuesday) based in our London office near Aldgate East and Liverpool Street stations.

• Work alongside partner agencies to ensure that clients are accessing appropriate support to access and sustain accommodation.
• Accurately record all work completed within given timeframes.
• Have a UK Driving Licence.
To succeed as the Support Worker you will have:

The Programme Manager role is responsible for developing strategies within our healthcare funding areas and looking after a large, diverse and varied portfolio of grants. This includes a mixture of working closely with applicants to shape larger strategic research and fast-paced and impactful response-mode funding. This role will work with grants in the technology, research and innovation, medical equipment and healthcare transformation space. The post holder will work closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital and its academic partner the Institute of Child Health in UCL, to support funding and management of grants, giving an opportunity to expand and develop your research management skills to that in clinical, NHS setting, whilst seeing the real-life impact the funding makes for our beneficiaries.
About the Team
This exciting role sits within the Impact and Charitable Programmes Department. The Department is responsible for ensuring charitable funding supports the highest quality projects within our funding priority areas of: research; patient and family experience; technology and medical equipment; hospital staff support; education; and environment (through supporting redevelopment projects and capital builds). The department is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating funded projects to ensure greatest impact, and providing support to fundraising teams with information on the projects the charity funds.
About You
You will have extensive healthcare, scientific and /or research management experience and be confident operating independently to develop and take projects forward. You will also develop excellent working relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders at the hospital, UCL Institute of Child Health and across the Charity.
Specifically, you will have:
- An advanced research degree (PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience
- Research grants management experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships

About World Child Cancer
Over 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. Childhood cancer is most often curable, with over 80% survival rate in high income countries. However, in many low-and-middle-income countries survival rates are often 25% or lower.
World Child Cancer’s goal is to help redress that inequity and improve the chances of children with cancer to survive and thrive in under-resourced countries. We currently work with local hospitals in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and Mexico to enable children with cancer to have equal access to the best possible treatment and care through awareness raising on signs of childhood cancer, providing financial, logistical and emotional support to address barriers to access treatment, training of healthcare workers and advocacy.
Overview of the role
This newly created Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager role will play a key part in raising income from companies and philanthropists to help achieve World Child Cancer’s mission.
You will be passionate about enabling children with cancer to have equitable access to quality treatment wherever they are born. We are looking for someone experienced in corporate and philanthropy fundraising, who is proactive, confident in engaging with high value funders, able to develop strong internal and external relationships, has strong verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative way of working and experience in developing new business.

About this role…
Thames Reach’s Outreach teams operate across London and helps those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond rapidly and work flexibly to reach people. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those offering immigration support.
You will:
- Complete outreach shifts, providing a rapid response to referrals for people who are rough sleeping in the borough
- Take a lead role within the team, working closely with support workers and assistant support workers to identify the quickest and most appropriate route off the street for people found rough sleeping, and devise plans to achieve this
- Provide direct support to people who are found rough sleeping to enable them to move away from the streets and into accommodation
- Work alongside partner agencies to ensure that clients are accessing appropriate support to access and sustain accommodation
- Accurately record all work completed within given timeframes
To succeed as the Lead Worker, you will have:
- A strong commitment to providing a high standard of service
- Experience working with people who have rough slept or vulnerable adults and supporting them to access services
