Job description

Senior Partnerships Marketing Manager

Charity People is delighted to be partnering with Smart Energy GB to recruit for their next Senior Partnerships Marketing Manager.

This is a unique opportunity to join Smart Energy GB on a 12‑month temporary contract and play a critical role in delivering high‑value national partnerships that support a major behaviour‑change programme across the UK.

This role is highly hands‑on and delivery‑focused, managing complex, large‑scale partnerships with senior stakeholders, multiple workstreams and significant budgets. It will suit an experienced partnerships professional who enjoys being close to delivery and confident operating at pace.

About Smart Energy GB

Smart Energy GB is the independent, not‑for‑profit organisation responsible for delivering the national smart meter awareness campaign. Funded by energy suppliers, Smart Energy GB works with a wide range of partners to engage households across Great Britain, particularly customers in vulnerable circumstances and specialist audience groups.

Smart Energy GB operates a distinctive partnership model. The organisation funds partners to deliver marketing and behaviour‑change activity on its behalf. This role plays a key part in ensuring partners deliver against agreed objectives, budgets and KPIs.

  • Contract: 12‑month temporary contract (PAYE)
  • Hourly rate: £35.17 per hour + £5.11 holiday pay
  • Hours: 36.15 hours per week
  • Location: London, hybrid working
    • 2 days per week in the office (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
    • 3 days remote
  • Start date: Mid‑April 2026

About the role

You will manage and deliver a portfolio of high‑value national and B2B partnerships, including at least one major, high‑profile partnership with multiple deliverables and senior stakeholders. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will lead the partnership lifecycle from contracting through to campaign delivery and evaluation.

This role requires confidence in managing complexity, balancing multiple priorities, and ensuring activity delivers measurable impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver the partnerships strategy, ensuring effective use of budgets and a balanced portfolio of partners
  • Scope, onboard and manage high‑value national and B2B partnerships, ensuring clarity of deliverables, budgets and KPIs
  • Lead the full partnership lifecycle, from contracting and negotiation through to hands‑on campaign delivery, performance management and evaluation
  • Confidently manage senior stakeholders across complex and high‑profile partnerships
  • Take ownership of at least one major national partnership, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Maintain a strong partner pipeline and cultivate relationships across multiple sectors
  • Lead the creation and delivery of multi‑channel campaigns to engage priority and vulnerable audiences
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to develop content and review partner assets
  • Manage external agencies across creative, media and PR when required
  • Ensure all partnership activity is measurable and work closely with insight teams to evaluate impact

About You:

  • Significant experience personally managing large‑scale, high‑value partnerships, rather than solely overseeing or advising on them
  • Extensive experience developing and delivering successful marketing partnerships
  • Strong relationship management skills with senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience leading integrated campaigns across multiple channels and agencies
  • Confidence managing complexity, multiple deliverables and competing priorities
  • Strong supplier and agency management skills
  • An understanding of behaviour change or marketing best practice
  • Experience delivering marketing or communications activity for vulnerable or diverse audiences
  • Experience working across sectors to deliver complex projects
  • Experience in B2B marketing or familiarity with small business needs

This role is best suited to candidates who enjoy being close to delivery and managing partnership activity day‑to‑day.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, nationally impactful partnerships role within a unique operating model, working on high‑profile campaigns that make a real difference to people’s lives across Great Britain.

How to apply

Please apply without delay by sharing your CV. We are looking to move quickly with this role. There will be a two-stage process, commencing with a first-stage online interview, followed by an in-person second stage, with a view for the successful person starting as soon as possible.
