The Senior Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role within the New Business Development sub‑team, driving the acquisition of high value, multi‑year corporate partnerships that deliver meaningful shared value for the organisation and its partners. They are responsible for developing and securing six‑ and seven‑figure strategic partnerships, ensuring each relationship aligns with organisational priorities and delivers clear, measurable impact. The Department

The Hurlingham Club Foundation was established in 2021 and its mission is to harness the collective strength of the Club to create spaces and opportunities that improve the health, well-being and social connection of people living in underserved areas of our borough.

We aim to achieve this impact this in three main ways through:

· Direct programmes hosted at the Club (including sports, social and wellbeing activities).

· Funding for local charities delivering aligned community initiatives.

· Volunteering and in-kind support opportunities for members and stakeholders.

To deliver all this activity, money is largely raised through member donations at Foundation events and money is also raised through grants and corporate sponsorship.

The Role

As the Foundation Assistant, you will be a vital part of this small, friendly team to ensure that we manage all our events and programmes to raise the most amount of money and deliver maximum impact for people in need in our community.

You will work part time; ideally 20 hours over four days from Monday to Thursday.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Hurlingham Club Foundation in a variety of ways.

Typical duties will include:

Event Coordination

· Supporting the planning and delivery of Foundation events.

· Managing logistics including room bookings, catering, AV, guestlists, security passes and event materials.

· Ensuring events run smoothly from setup through to delivery.

Administration & Finance

· Maintaining accurate records and financial administration.

· Supporting the processing of purchase orders, income and invoices.

Data & CRM Management

· Maintain donor, volunteer and programme databases.

· Support monitoring and reporting of Foundation activity and impact.

Communications & Marketing Support

· Assisting with the website updated and digital content.

· Supporting with and creating presentations and marketing materials.

· Helping to manage and catalogue Foundation photography assets.

Programme Support

· Assisting with delivery of onsite community programmes.

· Welcoming visitors and supporting participant experience.

General Support

· Managing Foundation inbox enquiries.

· Providing day-to-day administrative support to the team and volunteers.

The Support and Outreach Worker will be a leading role in our belief of “A Hand Up Not a Hand Out”, and has been created to improve our service to vendors, helping them to increase their income through selling our magazine and providing casework support. In April 2023, the Big Issue Group launched a community interest company, Big Issue Changing Lives, to support more people affected by poverty and increase the impact of our services.   Big Issue Changing Lives C.I.C. provides vendors with the end-to-end support they need including sales set up and support, access to health and wellbeing services, and employment opportunities.

You will also positively promote The Big Issue in your region, build partnerships with third-party organisations and identify and promote opportunities all with the aim of moving people out of poverty.

As a Senior Residential Children & Young People Worker you will, on a rota basis, undertake the following:

• 3 on 4 off pattern across the year, with rotas completed at least one month in advance.
• Sleep ins - approximately 2 per month with an additional payment of approximately £68/sleep,
• Waking nights (approximately 2 per month)
• Opportunities to complete additional hours at an enhanced rate of pay.
• Some weekend working, on a rota basis
• Some bank holiday working – enhanced rates of pay for bank holiday working.

Designated days off are given following sleep ins and waking nights to promote wellbeing and recovery.

Your role:

• Engage with and support children in all aspects of their lives, attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs, whilst safeguarding each young person at all times.
• Support allocated keyworkers to ensure all information pertinent to the child's everyday life is completed and collated, to demonstrate the journey of the child whilst residing at the home.
• Provide practice based supervision to our As & When (bank) workers, liaising with managers to ensure continuity of care, Continued Professional Development and regulatory compliance.
• On a rota basis you will support the management team to provide out of hours on call cover, for which you will receive an additional payment.
• On a rota basis, you will also share the responsibility (alongside other SRCYW) of being allocated as shift leader; ensuring each day is purposeful and coordinated, enhancing opportunities for positive achievements and outcomes for the children.
• Support children to engage in education and enhance their social opportunities by accessing hobbies & activities in the home and in the community.

Fire Risk Assessor

We are seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to deliver high quality fire safety assessments and help protect residents across a large housing portfolio.

Position: Fire Risk Assessor
Salary: £51,000 to £60,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications plus £1,300 car allowance

About the Role
This is a key role within a dedicated Fire Safety team, providing specialist fire safety management and risk assessment across a diverse residential portfolio.

You will be responsible for delivering a programme of Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring all properties remain safe, compliant and well managed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessments in line with legislation and British Standards
• Undertaking site inspections across residential properties
• Producing clear, detailed FRA reports with risk ratings and recommended actions
• Managing a programme of planned assessments as well as responding to incidents
• Identifying fire risks and ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented
• Working closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain compliance
• Supporting the organisation in meeting all statutory fire safety obligations

About You
You will be an experienced fire safety professional with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to high standards.

You will demonstrate:

• Experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments within the residential sector
• A Level 3 or 4 qualification in Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Management
• Knowledge of fire safety legislation including the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005
• Understanding of fire compliance within housing associations or local authorities
• Knowledge of Approved Documents and relevant industry guidance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office systems
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Willingness to work towards or hold a recognised professional fire accreditation

We are seeking a male flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic Sessional Worker to support the delivery of services for Young Carers aged 5-16. Due to an increase in trips and off-site activities, and to ensure we provide appropriate support for all young people- particularly our male Young Carers - we are particularly seeking a male sessional worker to join the team. The role involves two key parts. The first is helping to deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote wellbeing, reduce isolation, and give Young Carers a break from their responsibilities. The second is supporting with outreach to local schools, colleges, community settings and professionals to identify and engage Young Carers. 

About The Role: 

You will work across two key age groups- 5-11 and 12–16 - delivering and supervising activities, supporting events and trips, and providing behavioural management where needed. You will deliver awareness training sessions, run stalls and aim to identify and engage Young Carers in the community. You will also help ensure young Carers feel heard, included, and supported as they navigate the challenges of their caring roles. We are particularly looking for a male sessional worker who is available for our upcoming residential trip to the Young Carers Festival on the 26th – 28th June and a day trip to Southend-On-Sea on the 6th June.  This is a sessional role, therefore hours are not guaranteed but will be offered based on project need.

Role purpose:

This is a new role created to support and strengthen our financial capacity. The role will have day to day responsibility for all finance matters at ShelterBox and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the strength, integrity and effectiveness of financial management at ShelterBox.

The Head of Finance will be a key business partner across the business for all financial matters. Reporting to the Director of Finance, they will lead the finance function overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, compliance and statutory accounts, as well as oversight of the work of the operational finance team and board and committee reporting. While this is a leadership and management position, the small team structure means the successful candidate will be expected to take an active, hands on role in delivering work in addition to leadership responsibilities; They will have their own suite of projects and activities to deliver, as well as leading the finance team, and working across the organisation to support other teams. They'll work closely with our Director of Finance and senior leadership team.

Who are we looking for?

ShelterBox is seeking a qualified accountant with a minimum of ten years PQE in a management capacity.

The successful candidate must have extensive leadership experience and have proven experience in creating a modern, progressive finance function, with customer service at its core; we want this role to create long term impact.

Experience in accounting for projects, professional services and/or inventory would also be beneficial. Sector experience in an INGO is highly desirable

Main role and responsibilities

• Lead and support finance team including four direct reports

• Provide guidance, leadership, advisory support and quality control, across core services provided by direct reports including:
• Monthly financial reporting

• Financial business systems
• International Programmes project financial management including donor reporting; and
• Internal audit services

• Relationship management of investment advisory company and ongoing assessment of performance to ensure we are maximising returns on our investments in a risk appropriate manner
• Preparation of Board and Finance Committee reporting including cover at meetings for Director of Finance in periods of absence
• Setting and monitoring annual team deliverable timeline
• Carrying out ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting
• Development and maintenance of finance KPIs
• Manage relationship with external audit partner
• Provide a quality control review point and support and advise to Financial Controller over annual external audit.
• Guiding and directing team in an advisory capacity on all components of direct and indirect taxation
• Monitor processing of Gift aid to ensure we are compliant but also to drive improvements in gift aid recovery through clear supporting processes and trend analysis
