Job description

Do you want to make a difference while benefiting from a schedule that offers unique flexibility in Bristol?

Join our dedicated team providing vital person centred support to people experiencing homelessness in a Level 1 accommodation setting in Bristol. Our residents may have complex needs, substance misuse issues and other support needs.

As a Night Support Worker, you'll offer assistance, conversation, and continuity of care throughout the night, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continue support from the day team - engage with residents, offering support and a listening ear.
  • Maintain safety protocols, respond to emergencies, and conduct hourly building checks and monitoring issues like noise levels.
  • Complete administrative tasks, incident reports and handover notes to the day team.
  • You will attend team meetings and training, so you can continue to develop skills and knowledge to ensure confidence in your role.
  • Lone work at times when required.

Typical schedule: A flexible night shift rota, including weekends and bank holidays. Rolling 4-week rota, 9 PM – 7:30 AM, with two weekends off per month.

About you

These roles suit people with good communication skills with the ability to respond and interact effectively, if you have the ability to empathise with others and have the willingness to learn how to support people to transform their lives, we encourage you to apply. You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Some experience of dealing directly with the public, clients or customers in a busy service environment.
  • Some experience of volunteering or working in an environment that supports vulnerable people.
  • Understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness, who may have complex needs will be beneficial.
  • Ability to stay alert, calm, and use own initiative in emergencies.
  • Familiarity with IT, administrative procedures and record-keeping.
