The Union of Students are looking for a Payroll Senior Coordinator to assist the Head of Finance in the smooth running of the Union Finance Department. They will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, helping to maintain precise financial records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant payroll regulations. This role involves collaborating with the Human Resources team to manage employee data and contribute to the smooth operation of the wider finance team. The post holder will assist in the preparation of accurate and timely Financial Management accounts and oversee the Sales Ledger and Finance Coordinator role ensuring that the sales ledger invoices are accurate and income is received. They will pay attention to detail and can work in a busy environment and to tight deadlines. It is expected that they will provide cover for the finance team in periods of absence as other team members would be expected to provide cover for this role under the same circumstances. As a member of the Union of Students the post holder will contribute to and support the delivery of our Strategic Plan.

Main Responsibilities

Payroll Management

• Manage end-to-end administration of permanent and student payrolls using SAGE.
• Ensure full compliance with HMRC, pension and statutory requirements.
• Process monthly and four‑weekly payrolls, including timesheets, holiday pay and accruals.
• Maintain accurate payroll records, cost centre allocations and control account reconciliations.
• Complete all HMRC submissions (RTI, PAYE, P60s, P11Ds, P45s, Class 1A NI).
• Administer pension schemes, including monthly payments, annual reviews and statutory re‑enrolment.
• Manage payroll-related benefits including car parking deductions and healthcare schemes.
• Act as a payroll point of contact for staff, providing guidance and resolving queries.

Human Resources Administration

• Coordinate documentation for new starters and leavers, including right‑to‑work checks.
• Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems and master spreadsheets.
• Administer holiday entitlements, pro‑rata calculations and service‑based enhancements.
• Monitor sickness absence and trigger alerts in line with organisational policy.
• Act as first point of contact for routine HR queries and provide basic workforce reporting.
• Support day‑to‑day HR administration to ensure smooth organisational operations.

Financial Management & Reporting

• Support the Head of Finance in producing high‑quality, timely financial management information.
• Prepare monthly cost centre reports and ensure journals are accurate and submitted on schedule.
• Oversee sales ledger activity, ensuring invoices are accurate and income is received promptly.
• Identify and escalate financial risks or issues as they arise.
• Contribute to business case development and continuous improvement initiatives across teams.

The Role

The Marketing and Communications Officer will lead on promoting the work, services and impact of Citizens Advice Southampton. You will help ensure that local people know how to access advice, that stakeholders understand our impact, and that our voice is heard in local conversations about poverty, inequality and social justice.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will deliver clear, accessible and inclusive communications that reflect Citizens Advice values and strengthen our profile across Southampton.

The main tasks for the role include, but are not limited to: 

Marketing and Promotion

• Plan and deliver marketing activity to increase awareness of Citizens Advice Southampton services among local communities.
• Promote key services, campaigns and projects using a mix of digital and offline channels.
• Support targeted outreach to under‑represented or vulnerable groups in Southampton.

 Communications and Content

• Manage and regularly update our website content.
• Create engaging content for social media (e.g. posts, graphics, short videos).
• Draft clear and accessible written communications, including newsletters, leaflets, posters and email updates.
• Ensure all communications are consistent with Citizens Advice branding, tone of voice and accessibility standards.

Campaigns and Impact

• Support local and national Citizens Advice campaigns by communicating key messages locally.
• Help translate research, data and case studies into accessible content for the public and stakeholders.
• Work with colleagues to showcase impact stories and outcomes.

 Stakeholder and Media Engagement

• Support relationships with local partners, community organisations and funders through effective communications.
• Assist with media relations, including drafting press releases and responding to local media enquiries where appropriate.

Monitoring and Improvement

• Monitor engagement and reach across communications channels (e.g. website analytics, social media insights).
• Use data and feedback to improve marketing and communications activity over time

Your role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Partnerships New Business Manager, to join our friendly and ambitious team, to be the lead on new business activity in the team. This role will lead on securing new high-value, multi-faceted, long-term partnerships with companies to support the RNLI’s objectives. This role will build upon recent pipeline development and new business success in the team, through leading on the continuous development and implementation of the new business strategy and plans, further driving improvements and ensuring a sustained focus on pipeline development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, approaching and securing new business at six figure level. You'll ensure we provide excellent management and stewardship of the new business pipeline, provide regular and accurate performance updates against objectives and KPIs, and accurately forecast short, mid and long-term income. You will help to drive creative thinking in the development of proposals to take out to prospective partners.

The location of this role is flexible and can be homebased, but ideally within a commutable distance of Poole, as the successful candidate will be required to travel to Poole and Partner locations on a regular basis (sometimes at short notice) to meet with internal and external stakeholders.

Purpose of the role

The HR Administrator role is a newly created position to reflect the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands. This is a key role which is instrumental in supporting the HR administration function at an operational level, along with providing general administrative support to the HR Manager and wider team as required to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the charity. 

Reporting to the HR Manager and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service (WorkNest), this role will provide efficient and confidential administrative support across all areas of human resources. This includes recruitment, onboarding, record management, payroll support, and ensuring HR processes are compliant with employment legislation and charity policies. 

This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a collaborative, values-driven environment.

Key responsibilites

HR Administration  

• Take ownership of the HR software to ensure all HR documentation and records are accurate, up to date at all times and in line with Day One policies, procedures and GDPR, including retention periods for ex-employees. 

• Oversee the recruitment, selection and induction process for all new appointments. Including posting vacancies, scheduling virtual and in-person interviews, and communicating with candidates. 

• Process and coordinate all pre-employment checks for new hires, including DBS checks, right to work verification, reference checks, and any other safeguarding or compliance requirements, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately, securely stored, and compliant with employment legislation and organisational policies. 

• Administer honorary contracts and associated documentation with NHS Trusts where required, liaising with relevant departments to ensure agreements, compliance checks, and onboarding requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner, in line with NHS and organisational policies and procedures. 

• Manage and maintain HR SharePoint folders and electronic HR records, ensuring documentation is accurately uploaded, securely stored, regularly updated, and easily accessible in line with GDPR, data protection requirements, and organisational record management procedures. 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring all changes relating to contracts, job titles, salaries, working hours, absence, and personal details are promptly recorded within the HR system in line with organisational procedures and data protection requirements. 

• Prepare and issue employment contracts, offer letters, and onboarding documentation, ensuring all paperwork is accurate, compliant with organisational policies and employment legislation, and completed in a timely manner to support a smooth onboarding experience for new starters. 

• Handle employment and character reference requests in a timely, professional, and confidential manner, ensuring all information provided is accurate, compliant with data protection requirements, and in line with organisational policy and safer recruitment practices. 

• Prepare and issue contractual amendment letters, ensuring all changes to terms and conditions of employment are accurately documented, clearly communicated, and processed in line with organisational policies and employment legislation, and that employee records are updated accordingly. 

• Oversee the employee offboarding process, ensuring all leaving procedures are completed efficiently and professionally, coordinating final documentation, recovering organisational property and system access, and maintaining accurate records to support organisational learning and continuous improvement. 

• Process a range of HR documentation relating to employee absence, annual leave, performance reviews, and changes to employment status, ensuring all records are accurately maintained, promptly updated on the HR system.

• Support monthly payroll administration by ensuring accurate and timely provision of employee data to the Finance department, including updates on new starters, leavers, contractual changes, absences, and other relevant payroll information, in line with agreed deadlines. 

• Monitor the HR inbox on a daily basis, responding promptly and professionally to queries relating to HR administration, and escalating more complex or sensitive matters to the HR Manager or appropriate lead as necessary, ensuring all communications are handled in line with confidentiality. 

• Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of training sessions, including liaising with external trainers, booking venues or virtual platforms, and communicating with attendees. Maintain accurate training records and track employee certifications, ensuring compliance requirements are met and records are kept up to date in line with organisational policies. 

• Provide administrative support for disciplinary, grievance, and performance management processes, including arranging meetings, preparing documentation, and accurately taking and distributing meeting minutes where required, ensuring all records are handled confidentially. 

• Support the HR Manager prepare HR reports, metrics, and correspondence as requested in a clear and accurate format. 

• Assist in the organisation and coordination of whole-organisation in-person team days, including booking suitable venues, arranging catering and refreshments, coordinating activities, and supporting logistics to ensure smooth delivery and a positive staff experience. 

• Support the HR Manager with the planning and delivery of employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing activities, helping to foster a positive organisational culture by assisting with events, communications, and activities that promote staff wellbeing, inclusion, and morale. 

• Prepare and send a monthly staff newsletter, working closely with colleagues across departments to gather content, ensuring information is accurate, engaging, and timely, and supporting effective internal communication across the organisation. 

• Responsible for supporting the data input into the HRIS and any further developments of the system.

The Role

This is a remote position for someone based in the UK, with the expectation to work at a VCUKI office two days a month. The role is full-time and reports to the VCUKI National Coordinator.

The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at securing donations from major donors, trusts, foundations, and corporations.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland as well as Vineyard Global. They will work with movement leaders and Vineyard staff to maximise fundraising opportunities and establish long-term relationships with donors. The candidate should be a starter finisher as this is a new area of development for both VCUKI and Vineyard Global, and over time, it is anticipated that the post-holder will build a team to assist with key aspects of the role. The Opportunity:   

The Aspiring Professionals Programme Coordinator (APPC) postholder is responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the Social Mobility Foundation’s programme of activities for young people across all Programme years. 

There are 2 roles available, both based in Newcastle. 
 

Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Project Delivery 

• Deliver key projects including recruiting and onboarding students, creating digital resources and student events  
• Support with programme pilots, scoping (and delivering on) new activity   
• Collaborate and build relationships with our employer partners, schools, and universities to support our young people in their applications for university, internships and graduate roles  
• Deliver on allocated events relating to our programme model (university applications, skill development, work experience and mentoring), presenting content to a high standard and in line with the Social Mobility Foundation messaging

 2. Monitoring and Evaluation  

• Follow established procedures to monitor the progress of your work area, using accurate data to inform decisions
• Maintain accurate records across relevant databases, updating data accurately and in a timely manner  
• Contribute to evaluation for key work areas (residentials, events, internships etc), produce high quality evaluation reports where required.

3. Stakeholder Management

• Communicate to internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
• Proactively update external partners (i.e. employers) on your work areas, flagging risks in a timely manner with relationship managers
• Manage internal student queries and maintain consistent stakeholder (e.g. students) processes through regular communication

4. Activity Delivery  

• Coordinate planning and delivery of skills sessions, partner events, university visits, and other activities, both virtually and in person across the Social Mobility Foundation’s target cities across the UK
• Coordinate logistics of sixth form and S5/S6 and undergraduate internships, including but not limited to, student selection, liaising with students and employers throughout internship delivery 
• Coordinate and support with the organisation, logistics and delivery of in-person residential programmes for students, including staying on site for day and overnight visits when needed
• Coordinate student services including personal statement checking service and recruitment success service 
• Create digital resources to support all provisions

Ways of working:

• This role requires you to attend staff residentials for students on our Programme. This means that during the summer period (Jul – Aug) you will be expected to stay overnight on-site (in the UK - exact location to be confirmed closer to the time) for a period of up to two-weeks, help run the residential and be responsible for the welfare of the young people involved.
• Please note this role may require some travel during our student recruitment period (September – November) and peak delivery period (February - May).
