With a 65-year history of transformative change, we are a vibrant community of volunteers, practitioners, peer supporters, members and advocates. We are the largest parenting charity in the country and over the decades we’ve supported millions of people on their unique journey into parenthood. 

While many know us for our antenatal classes, we also do much more. We campaign on issues that matter to parents, provide infant feeding support, and run thousands of free community events and activities led by our amazing volunteers. We also support families facing challenges like social isolation, feeding difficulties, and poor mental health. We offer support in communities, in hospitals and online.

Job Title: West Kent Infant Feeding Regional Lead

Contract: Fixed term to 1st January 2029

Contract type: Part time

Hours per week: 28 hours per week

Location: Kent community based, including covering Maidstone, Malling, Seven Oaks, Tonbridge & Tonbridge Wells

Salary: £27,000 FTE

About the role

Join our passionate team and contribute to the meaningful work that transforms the love of parents and families. The West Kent Infant Feeding Regional Lead is a vital role that will ensure the smooth delivery of the NCT Infant Feeing Peer Support service within their region. Building strong relationships with local stakeholders to embed NCT peer support within the Infant Feeding referral pathway.

Your role will include: 

· Providing line management and support to the NCT Infant Feeding Peer Support staff and volunteer team within your region.

· Engage with underrepresented communities through networking with other local organisations.

· Working with and supporting peer supporters to carry out their role.

· Managing peer support rotas for place-based community support within your region.

·  Responding to referrals and signposting to health professionals as and where required.

About you

· Have a passion for breastfeeding and ensuring every family in Kent has accessible support.

· Have experience in motivating teams and managing volunteers

· Experience of working alongside health professions.

· Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build consensus.

· Have worked within or have knowledge of the local perinatal services and communities within the West Kent area.

The Position:
 
As Head of Membership and Education, you will own the operational leadership of Membership and Education. You will oversee the management of teams, ensuring day-to-day operations run efficiently while delivering initiatives that strengthen member engagement and professional standards.
 
You will make key decisions that keep the department running smoothly, support committees, maintain governance, and ensure all processes and documentation are in order. While education delivery is part of the remit, your focus will be on membership operations, growth, and operational excellence.
 
You will also oversee international teams, collaborate with UK regional groups, and work with universities, employers, and sector regulators.
 
As a senior leader, you’ll be accountable for:
 

• Overseeing the management of Membership and Education teams, ensuring alignment, high performance, and day-to-day operational efficiency
• Leading operational delivery across membership and education functions, from CPD and examinations to accreditation and professional standards
• Taking ownership of key decisions that drive departmental and organisational success
• Driving initiatives to enhance member recruitment, retention, and progression
• Managing budgets, forecasts, and provide strategic reporting to senior leadership
• Ensuring database integrity, subscription processes, and data governance are maintained to the highest standard
• Building strong relationships with committees, professional bodies, and academic partners, providing operational oversight and guidance
• Supporting regional and international staff to deliver high-quality, consistent member experiences
• Leading process improvements and implement initiatives aligned with the organisation’s five-year strategic plan
• Applying operational insight to education frameworks and accreditation within membership structures

 
Who you are:

Guildford Cathedral is a sacred space and a community of people who engage with God and the wider world for the common good. Welcoming over 100,000 visitors annually, our Cathedral ‘community’ comprises thousands who feel close the Cathedral because of historical connection, through worship or our volunteer service. The core task of Guildford Cathedral is worship. Daily and Sunday choral services are the backbone of our work. The Cathedral is led by the Dean with the Cathedral Chapter which is akin to a Board of Directors and charity trustees.

We are now seeking an Events Virger to join our team and play a vital role in supporting the Cathedral’s worship and events programme. 

The Role

As Events Virger, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of services and events. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and resetting the Cathedral for services, concerts, and special events. Assist with the setting up and removal of all content and furnishings requested for this activity.
• Opening and closing the Cathedral on a rota basis.
• Ensure the efficient cleaning of the Cathedral with effective use of time and materials and without the need for supervision (the team of Virgers are responsible for all the Cathedral cleaning).
• To be on duty, in accordance with the rota, on Sundays, Festival Days and other occasions, in addition to other routine duties.
• Maintain vestments, altar furnishings and vessels and prepare them for all Services.
• Operating sound and lighting systems as needed.
• Support and assist Chaplains, Guides and other volunteers as required.
• Safeguarding donations and collections.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• GCSE-level education and previous experience as a Virger.
• A sense of the value of well-ordered worship and its contribution to the Cathedral’s wider ministry and outreach.
• Strong communications interpersonal skills.
• IT competence and administrative skills.
• Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Physical fitness to handle lifting and moving tasks.
• A team player, holding the personal qualities necessary to work well with the other members of the Cathedral team, both paid and volunteer.
• A communicant member of the Church of England.
• Willingness to undertake training, including First Aid at Work.

Desirable:​

• Experience of the coordination and delivery of events.
