Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is seeking a dedicated and highly organised Youth Activities and Enrichment Coordinator to join our award-winning Bright Futures Children and Young People's Programme.
In this rewarding role, you will plan and coordinate engaging and inclusive educational, recreational and enrichment activities that help refugee and asylum-seeking children and young people build confidence, develop skills, improve wellbeing and feel connected to their local community.
Location: We have offices in Kingston Upon Thames, greater London.
Hours: 14 hours per week – 2 days a week* (including paid half-hour lunch break).
Salary: £12,740 (FTE £31,850) for 2 years.
Leave: 26 days per annum Pro Rata plus bank holidays.
Starting Date October 2026.
Responsible to Head of Services/Family Support and Supplementary School Manager.
*The peak activity periods for this role happen during school half-terms, which means extra hours will be required during these times. In return, we offer full flexibility with Time Off in Lieu (TOIL), allowing you to reclaim your time outside of busy half-term periods. Afterschool club is currently on Wednesdays and you will be expected to attend in person until 6pm.
Purpose of the Role
The Youth Activities and Enrichment Coordinator will play a key role in planning, coordinating, delivering and monitoring educational, recreational and enrichment activities as part of our award-winning Bright Futures Children’s and Young People’s Programme. Working closely with the Head of Services/Family Support and Supplementary School Manager, Primary Teacher, external partners and volunteers, the post holder will ensure the provision of engaging, inclusive and memorable opportunities. In addition, they will support the delivery of RAK Bright Futures After School Club and Supplementary School and contribute to education-related casework for children and young people and monitoring and evaluation of all above activity.

Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is a well-established charity dedicated to supporting refugees and people seeking asylum from anywhere in the world who find themselves in the Royal Borough of Kingston and neighbouring boroughs. Since its foundation in 1991, RAK has been the main provider of direct services to refugees and people seeking asylum as well as promoting refugee rights.
RAK aims to support refugees through the process from their initial reception in the borough through to final integration into the local community in order to enable them to live a fulfilling life and become accepted and active participants in our local communities. Key Responsibilities
- Research, plan and coordinate holiday activities, trips and workshops that promote learning, wellbeing, community engagement and social inclusion.
- Develop and maintain relationships with activity providers, venues, schools, community organisations, cultural institutions and other partners to secure and coordinate activities, trips and enrichment opportunities.
- Manage invitations and registrations. Communicate with families regarding activities, permissions, travel arrangements and other relevant information.

- Take photos and prepare short commentary for social media whilst prioritising online safety of children and young people and ensuring all necessary permissions are in place.
- Deal sensitively with children, young people and families, identifying needs and making referrals to appropriate RAK services, external organisations and community opportunities.
- Keep up to date with local community activities and services and ensure youth activities notice boards are regularly updated.

Support Duties
- Support the delivery of RAK’s After School Club and Supplementary School programmes.

- Ensure client details and case records are accurate, confidential and recorded on the RAK database and other relevant platforms.
Other duties and shared responsibilities
- Attend team meetings, training and other activities required to support the successful delivery of the programme.
- Represent RAK professionally with partners, stakeholders and the wider community.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Head of Services/Family Support and Supplementary School Manager that are consistent with the nature of the role.

About the Role
Rough sleeping pathways only work when the system around people moves with urgency, consistency and accountability. This role is about making sure people sleeping rough, or at risk of returning to the streets, are not left waiting, drifting between services, or losing accommodation because barriers have not been gripped quickly enough.
As Outreach Housing Pathway Coordinator, you will work within Camden’s integrated Rough Sleeping and Outreach Hub to help people access and sustain appropriate accommodation. You will hold oversight of where people are in their housing journey, identify what is blocking progress, and work with outreach teams, Navigators, hostels, pathway providers, community safety partners and statutory services to keep plans moving.
You will focus on the points where pathways can break down: delays, exclusions, unsuitable offers, unresolved risks, street activity linked to accommodation, or support needs that have not yet been fully understood or responded to. Through assertive engagement, practical case coordination and strong partnership working, you will help people stabilise their accommodation and reduce the risk of returning to rough sleeping.
Working within Camden’s No Wrong Door model, you will bring grip, judgement and persistence to complex situations, ensuring people experiencing multiple disadvantage receive a response that is joined-up, trauma-informed and focused on lasting routes away from the street. SHP will support you with the training, reflective practice and development opportunities needed to continue building your expertise in this work.

- You understand that people experiencing rough sleeping are often navigating trauma, exclusion, unmet needs and systems that have not worked for them. You bring patience, persistence and a clear belief that people should not be written off when engagement is difficult.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach, Wheelchair Skills and Wider Engagement
· Engage the widest possible range of people with spinal cord injury to sign up for further contact with Back Up, through organising and/or delivering wheelchair skills training sessions and talks for patients and families at the spinal cord injury centre in the region, general hospitals and with other key partners or locations as identified.
· Coordinate, support and manage volunteer trainers who are helping to deliver sessions and talking to patients and families.
· Lead, sustain and develop strong and effective working relationships with a wide range of health professionals and other charity representatives e.g. through presentations, calls and meetings, to ensure that people access seamless support.
Proactive Contact with People Affected by Spinal Cord Injury
· Maintain and support relationships with a large number of people affected by SCI (adults, children and young people and their parents) through regular proactive contact. This could be in person in the spinal cord injury centre, other settings or through events, telephone contact or other interactions.
· Explore their feelings, wishes and needs and provide tailored peer support to help them feel supported, access relevant services from Back Up and elsewhere through proactive referrals, and become more aware of the possibilities of life after SCI.
Networking, Partnerships and Sustainability
· Develop and maintain a map of touchpoints in the region, where people with an SCI will come into contact.
· Develop partnerships, referral routes and signposting processes to develop reach beyond the spinal cord injury centre.
· Develop and manage a network of community ambassador volunteers to support the wider work and sustainability of Back Up through fundraising and other related activities.
· Take a lead on encouraging localised fundraising activity; working towards wider income targets that support ongoing sustainability.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintaining accurate records on the database.
· Work as a team, consulting with others to ensure you give and receive high quality support.
· Keep Back Up informed of the issues affecting the people you are supporting and of developments at the spinal cord injury centre, general hospitals and other settings.
· Input into team planning and activities.

· Help recruit new volunteers as needed to ensure a diverse team representing Back Up.

The Communications Co-ordinator plays an important role in helping MindOut communicate its impact, services, campaigns and community voice to a wide range of stakeholders. One Can Trust is a thriving local charity supporting individuals and families experiencing hardship across South Bucks. Alongside our food bank, we run a clothes bank, toddler groups and a community café. With a dedicated team of 11 staff and over 400 volunteers, we currently support around 360 people each week.
We are looking for a practical, organised and community-minded Warehouse Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day running of our warehouse operation. This is a hands-on role that combines stock management, volunteer supervision, health and safety responsibilities and general warehouse administration.

They will oversee programme governance, stakeholder engagement, project management, financial monitoring and compliance with government funding requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the development and submission of the Pride in Place 10-Year Regeneration Plan and 4-Year Investment Plan.
- Supporting and servicing the Neighbourhood Board, including governance, reporting and administration.
- Acting as a Place Leader, fostering collaboration across communities, organisations and sectors.
- Managing programme delivery, ensuring compliance with Government guidance and funding requirements.
- Leading community engagement activities and ensuring residents are central to programme development.
- Developing project plans, risk registers, reporting systems and performance monitoring frameworks.
- Supporting procurement processes and the commissioning of consultants, contractors and delivery partners.
- Managing budgets, financial reporting and audit requirements in partnership with the local authority.
- Building and maintaining productive relationships with government departments, local authorities, community organisations and other stakeholders.
- Acting as an ambassador for the programme and championing local aspirations.
The successful post holder must have:
- A degree-level qualification, professional qualification (Level 4-5) or equivalent relevant experience.
- Significant experience of leading complex programmes, projects or partnerships.
- Experience of stakeholder engagement, partnership working and community consultation.
- Strong programme and project management skills, including risk management and reporting.
- Experience of budget management and financial accountability.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of grant-funded programmes and governance processes.
- The ability to analyse complex information and develop practical solutions.
- A commitment to inclusion, community participation and the Oasis ethos and values.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
