This role sits at the heart of Operation Smile UK’s five-year strategy to deliver transformational growth across all income streams. As Senior Lead - Acquisition and Digital Fundraising, you will be instrumental in delivering on three of our four core strategic priorities:
- Build Regular Giving – laying the foundation for higher long-term value and stronger ROI across acquisition channels.

The Senior Lead - Acquisition & Digital Fundraising role is responsible for delivering Operation Smile UK’s strategic individual giving acquisition programme. This role is key to driving income growth and expanding our supporter base across multiple channels, including digital, DRTV, dialogue fundraising and print.
You will lead the strategy, planning, delivery and evaluation of acquisition campaigns, including the onboarding process, with full accountability for managing significant budgets, agency partnerships and performance metrics. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to an experienced acquisition fundraiser with strong commercial acumen and a data-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Campaign Leadership
- Develop and implement the multi-channel acquisition strategy, aligned with income targets and supporter growth objectives.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of campaigns across direct dialogue, digital, DRTV, and print channels.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the onboarding process for all new recruits.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing insight-driven recommendations to optimise results.
- Drive testing and innovation to expand existing channels and introduce new ones within acceptable risk and return parameters.
Budget Ownership & Performance Monitoring
- Take full responsibility for acquisition budget management, income forecasting and cost control.
- Set, monitor, and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting against ROI, CPA, and long-term value across all acquisition channels.
- Collaborate with the Senior Database Manager and the Director of Data and Technology to develop and maintain performance dashboards (e.g., Power BI) and support strategic data analysis, including both short-term and long-term channel performance evaluation.
Agency & Partner Management
- Manage day-to-day relationships with external fundraising and creative partners.
- Lead briefings, content sourcing, agent training, stakeholder approvals, and quality assurance processes.
- Negotiate contracts and hold suppliers accountable for delivery and performance.
Cross-Team and Market Integration
- Represent the acquisition programme in cross-functional planning meetings and contribute to a unified team culture focused on strategic delivery.
- Deliver and optimise the onboarding and conversion programme for new donors.
- Develop CRO strategies and implement with support from the Communications team, whilst supporting the enhancement of web development
- Ensure consistent campaign integration across touchpoints and maximise thematic/creative cohesion, working in collaboration with the Senior Communications Manager to lead and develop the creative and content strategy for acquisition.
- Act as a key liaison with colleagues across Operation Smile global markets, sharing insights and exploring opportunities to align strategy, co-develop creative, or pilot cross-market initiatives.
Compliance, Risk & Best Practice
- Ensure all campaigns meet legal, ethical and data protection requirements (e.g., GDPR, Fundraising Regulator).
- Act as a key contributor to organisational risk assessments relating to income performance and supplier performance.
- Keep up to date with sector trends, innovations and benchmarks to maintain best practice.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience (ideally 5+ years) in Individual Giving or fundraising acquisition roles.
- Proven success delivering multi-channel acquisition campaigns with strong ROI.
- Experience managing external agencies and suppliers to high-performance standards.
- Strong background in digital fundraising and paid media.
- Demonstrated experience managing and reporting on substantial acquisition budgets.

About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant and Business Coordinator to provide high-level administrative, organisational and governance support to the Director of Membership, Media and Development (MMD) and the wider directorate.
This is a varied and impactful role at the heart of a busy, member‑focused organisation. You will work closely with senior leaders, board members, committees, and cross‑functional teams to support the delivery of key strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as Secretary for the MMD Board; including the relevant Committees and Working Groups; primarily the Nominations Committee, Heritage and Archives Committee, Events and Professional Development Committee and other committees and short life working parties as directed and agreed by the Director
- Managing the Director’s correspondence, diary and appointments, and providing administrative support, such as drafting documents and presentations
- Acting as the main administrative contact (both internally and externally) for the directorate, dealing diplomatically with all enquiries and liaising with other members of the College to ensure good communications
- End to end management of the process for College Awards, from nominations to presentations
- Supporting heritage and archives projects, including ensuring the relevant pages on the College website are kept up to date
- Supporting the directorate’s contribution to the College’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), working with the Governance Team
About You
You will bring proven experience as an Executive Assistant or Business Coordinator, with strong capability in supporting senior leaders and committees. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure, and a high level of attention to detail with strong written skills.
You will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, with experience drafting formal correspondence and minutes. An understanding of GDPR, confidentiality and EDI principles is essential, along with strong MS Office skills across Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Experience within a membership body or medical education environment is desirable, and you will be educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant experience.

The Role
What will I be doing?
The role oversees:
- Creation and management of Data governance frameworks
- Creation and management of Data quality controls and lifecycle management
- In collaboration with a data warehouse management partner, to design and implement Data ingestion, modelling, warehousing and reporting, using a data discovery audit carried out in 2025
- Vendor delivery and technical oversight
- Organisation‑wide data literacy and cultural change
- This includes managing risks; ensuring GDPR and security controls are applied, and enabling teams across all directorates to make informed, data‑driven decisions
Projects you work on may include:
- Delivery and optimisation of the outsourced data warehouse, including Snowflake architecture and Azure hosting
- Implementation of data ingestion pipelines with a data warehouse partner using tools such Fivetran and transformation workflows using Medallion and Kimball principles
- Establishment of the organisation‑wide data governance model, including catalogues, lineage, role‑based access controls and quality metrics
- Supporting directorates with reporting needs using Power BI and improving data consistency
- Through the use of training partners; upskilling staff and embedding a sustainable data‑driven culture through training and champions

The Role: Finance Manager
As Finance Manager, you will be at the heart of Reading Students’ Union’s Finance team, providing senior operational leadership and expert financial support to ensure the Union operates efficiently, transparently, and in line with its charitable purpose, values, and legal obligations.
You will be the trusted expert on the Union’s finances. You will be overseeing management accounts, statutory accounts, payroll, and financial systems and will be a key business partner to senior leaders, budget holders, and elected student officers. Out The Box (OTB) – hands-on analogue mixing workshops in leading London studios, giving emerging producers practical experience with desks, outboard gear and professional engineers while bridging digital and analogue production techniques.

The Role

The Office Manager is an integral part of the Operations Team playing an important role in ensuring the smooth running and welcoming atmosphere of our offices, directly supporting both internal teams and tenants.

Key responsibilities
Front of House / Event Management:
· Welcoming all visitors to the SoA building at Bedford Row.
· Managing the post/packages into and out of the building.
· Responsible for managing the Front of House/Operations Assistant and Groups Administrator, including day to day supervision, absence management and ongoing development.
· Responsible for managing the Events Space bookings calendar.
· Managing all events for tenants and external hire from inception to completion including catering as agreed with the client, cleaning team and room set-up of the Events Space.
· Working with the SoA Events Team for internal and member events ensuring that the logistics for room set up and cleaning are in place.
· Acts as a central point of contact for all staff for various Ops/logistics issues.
Facilities Management:

· Ensure all checks, risk assessments and remedial actions are implemented in a timely manner.
· Providing health and safety training to all new joiners.
· Ensure the office maintenance plan is kept up to date and all regular maintenance/services are booked and any identified issues are resolved.
· Organise the maintenance and PAT testing of all electrical equipment.
· Fire Warden/First Aider for the ground floor (training will be arranged if required).
· Proactively ensuring the office facilities remain safe, clean, fully-equipped and operational.

· Obtaining quotes for any maintenance/repairs works required and carrying out due diligence checks on all new contractors.

IT Coordination:
· Liaise with external IT support providers as necessary ensuring SLAs are adhered met and effectively resolve IT issues.
· Maintain a laptop register and prepare and maintain an annual rolling plan for renewal of old equipment.
· To oversee the migration of SharePoint data to the new CRM system in 2026.
· To be involved in any IT projects that need to integrate with our office systems (O365, SharePoint and One Drive).
· To be responsible for IT support for the office laptops and office systems (windows, O365, One Drive and SharePoint) ensuring that there is a maintenance contract in place and this is reviewed on a regular basis.
