About the Role
Here at Fire Fighters Charity, we are here to help all serving and retired members of the UK’s fire family to live healthier and happier lives.
We’re looking for a Performance and Insight Coordinator to help us better understand our performance, impact and relationships, and use that insight to drive improvement across the organisation.
Working within our Change and Innovation team, you’ll play a key role in bringing together data, feedback and relational insight from across the organisation and our partners. You’ll gather and analyse both quantitative data (such as service performance and reach) and qualitative insight (including staff feedback, stakeholder views and “soft signals”) to build a complete picture of how we’re performing.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across teams and with external partners, including Fire and Rescue Services (FRS), to capture and analyse relationship insight. By connecting this with performance data, you’ll help identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities.
A key part of the role will be turning complex information into clear, actionable insight. You’ll produce dashboards, briefings, heatmaps and reports tailored to different audiences, enabling teams and leaders to make informed decisions and continuously improve.
You’ll also support strategic planning and innovation by feeding insight into change activity, tracking learning, and helping embed a culture of reflection, feedback and improvement across the organisation.

About You
You are confident working with both data and people, able to bring together numbers, feedback and observations to tell a clear and compelling story.
You’ll have experience in a role involving data, as well as research, engagement or service delivery, with a proven ability to analyse diverse information and translate it into meaningful insight. You’re comfortable working across teams in a complex organisation and understand the importance of strong stakeholder relationships.
You’re a skilled communicator, able to present information clearly to a range of audiences, including senior leaders and non-specialists. You’re also highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across geographically dispersed teams.
With strong emotional intelligence and listening skills, you can create safe spaces for feedback and ensure insight is captured consistently. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, spotting patterns, and identifying what matters most.

About the role

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Strategy
1.1 Develop AdviceUK’s first policy and influencing strategy for Scotland, through consultation with members and stakeholders and analysis of the landscape and opportunities in Scottish policy making.
1.2 Put plans in place to roll out a specific programme of proactive and reactive policy work to further AdviceUK’s strategic aims in Scotland and represent the voices of Scottish members.
1.3 Devise measures to monitor the impact of our policy and influencing work in Scotland and report back to staff, trustees, members and stakeholders about the difference we are making.
2.Policy development
2.1 Collaborate with AdviceUK members, partners, sector stakeholders and

2.2 Produce high-quality, well-argued policy materials based on data and evidence, including reports, select committee responses, evidence statements, briefings and responses to Scottish Government consultations.

3. Public affairs
3.1 Roll out a programme of public affairs work including Scottish parliamentary engagement to promote AdviceUK’s strategic priorities.
3.2 Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the Scottish Government and parliament, local and decision makers, non-governmental bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
3.3 Champion an evidence based approach to all Advice UK’s advocacy and external relations work, drawing on research and member insight to inform our campaign messages.
3.4 Ensure regular opportunities for Advice UK members in Scotland to feed into our public affairs and advocacy work, and regular communications on our impact, to demonstrate how we amplify their voice.

4.1 Work with Policy, Programme and Media (PPM) colleagues as well as the wider AdviceUK team to develop the evidence base needed to inform our policy and campaigns work in Scotland.
4.2 Work with the Research and Policy Analyst to carry out analysis that identifies emerging trends in the Scottish advice world and use this to provide evidence-based policy briefings and specific policy solutions.

We are looking for a Senior Community Fundraiser – Scotland to help grow income, strengthen supporter relationships and unlock the power of community fundraising across Scotland.
This is an exciting senior role within our Community and Events team, working closely with colleagues and volunteers across our Scottish network. You will develop fundraising opportunities that reflect Scotland’s distinctive communities and supporter landscape; while helping volunteers, branches and supporters play their part in our life-saving work.
Contract
- £42,000 (FTE) per annum plus benefits
- Full Time (35hrs per week)
- Fixed Term (18 months)
- Hybrid working - Meeting in person and working collaboratively are things we value. This role is linked to our Edinburgh office with a blend of home and office working and occasional travel to our central office based in Surrey.
- In-person working: Minimum of 1 office day each week in the Edinburgh office, normally Wednesdays.

About the role
The role will be line managed within the Community and Events team, while working closely with the Scotland office to shape and deliver fundraising growth across the nation.
This role will also require occasional travel to our central office in Surrey Ewell or our London Hub office on Leadenhall Street
What you’ll do
Grow community fundraising income in Scotland
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of community fundraising activity across Scotland.
- Identify, develop and manage a strong pipeline of supporters and fundraising opportunities.
- Manage income budgets of around £200k or more and contribute to forecasting, reporting and performance analysis.
Build strong supporter and volunteer relationships
- Build and steward relationships with volunteers, branches, individuals, community groups and corporate partners.
- Champion excellent supporter journeys that attract new supporters and deepen existing relationships.
- Support volunteers and branches to reach their fundraising potential.
Work across Samaritans
- Support the development and delivery of the Community and Events fundraising strategy and operational plans.
- Develop networks across Scotland to raise Samaritans’ profile and unlock new opportunities.
- Work across the organisation to embed a “One Samaritans” approach to fundraising and engagement.
- Ensure activity complies with charity law, fundraising regulation and data protection requirements
About you
You’re an experienced community fundraiser who thrives on building relationships and making things happen. You enjoy working collaboratively, influencing stakeholders and supporting volunteers to succeed.
You’ll be confident working at both strategic and operational levels, balancing planning and delivery while keeping supporters and volunteers at the heart of everything you do.
What you will bring:
- Significant experience in community fundraising with a strong understanding of fundraising operations
- Proven ability to manage an income portfolio of £200k+ and work to financial targets
- Excellent relationship‑building, stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience of working with and supporting volunteers
- Strong understanding of charity legislation and fundraising best practice
- Experience of working cross‑departmentally and collaboratively
- A genuine commitment to Samaritans’ mission, values and equity, diversity and inclusion principles
- Experience of project management, coaching or mentoring, and managing change would be an advantage, as would knowledge of the Scottish fundraising environment.

Main Purpose of the Role
This new role aims to support the design, coordination and delivery of Action Duchenne’s events portfolio, including the Annual Community Summit, regional meetups, workshops, and online events. The role will ensure smooth operational delivery, high‑ quality participant experiences, accessible information, and effective logistics‑ and supplier coordination.
This role contributes directly to our organisational impact by ensuring families, young people, professionals and partners have access to engaging, supportive and well managed events. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys a challenge, is incredibly organised with excellent project management skills, close attention to detail, creativity and a passion for supporting every DMD community.
Specific Tasks
1. Event Coordination and Logistics

Support the planning and delivery of the Annual Community Summit, working closely with the Chief Scientific Officer, Director of Fundraising and Communications, and wider team.

Coordinate logistics for in‑person and online events, including venue liaison, catering, accessibility arrangements, equipment, travel, accommodation and schedules.
-
Ensure event details are accurately published and updated across relevant platforms (website, CRM, communications channels).
-
Manage registration processes for all events and ensure attendees receive timely, accurate joining information.
-
Support the organisation of regional meet‑ups and workshops, ensuring venues, facilitators and resources are in place.
2. Administration and Operational Delivery

Maintain clear and accurate administrative systems, including event checklists, timelines, risk assessments and evaluation forms.

Track planned expenditure and ensure costs align with budgets, escalating issues where necessary.

Prepare and maintain event collateral (slides, handouts, resources, signage), ensuring accessibility and brand consistency.

Provide administrative and practical support during events (both online and in person), including setting up webinar sessions and coordinating pre and post event meetings internally.
3. Stakeholder and Supplier Management

Liaise with venues, suppliers, speakers, exhibitors and partners to ensure high quality event delivery.

Develop positive working relationships with internal colleagues to ensure a joined-up programme across support, communications and scientific teams.

Provide excellent customer service to participants, responding promptly and sensitively to enquiries, access requirements and logistical questions.
4. Community and Engagement Support

Collaborate with Support Team colleagues to ensure events reflect community needs and priorities.

Support the promotion of events through the Communications Officer, ensuring timely provision of copy, event information and updates.

Encourage and support attendance from families, young people, professionals and community partners.
5. Data Management, Monitoring and Evaluation

Ensure accurate data entry in CRM systems (eTapestry or similar) for attendee lists, engagement tracking and follow up actions.

Collect and analyse feedback, producing short evaluation summaries to inform future planning.

Track attendance, trends and logistical improvements, contributing to quarterly reporting.
6. Risk, Compliance and Quality Assurance

Support event risk assessments and ensure compliance with safeguarding, accessibility and GDPR guidance.

Ensure that content and delivery meet Action Duchenne’s quality standards and reflect the needs of families affected by Duchenne.
