We’re looking for someone who understands how to build effective supporter communications and can confidently manage campaigns from concept through to delivery and analysis. Associate Director of Fundraising and Communications

We’re looking for an Associate Director of Fundraising and Communications who is primed to play a major role as the driving force behind a new era of income growth and brand influence in the Third Sector.
Working 35 hours per week in a hybrid role you can work effectively from home with a willingness to regularly network across Wales and attend Cardiff City Centre Head Office as the nature of the role requires.
The Role
You’re a people focused leader with a passion for driving transformation to spearhead our income growth and elevate our brand. This is a high impact, critical and senior leadership role where you’ll have direct responsibility for financial performance and leading integrated functions to ensure no opportunity for impact is missed.
You’ll balance high-level strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to delivery. From identifying and converting high-value corporate partnerships to leading a multi-disciplinary team across fundraising and marketing, your work will directly fund essential cancer services across Wales. About The Bike Project
The Bike Project is an award-winning charity which refurbishes second hand bikes and donates them to refugees. We were founded in 2013 by, Jem Stein, after he struck up a friendship and found a bike for Adam, a Darfuri refugee who had fled his home in Sudan after war broke out.
The Bike Project has grown into a national operation with new CEO, hundreds of volunteers, a team of committed staff, an online bike shop and two workshops, one in London and one in Birmingham.
To date we have supported over 15,000 refugees and people seeking asylum by giving them a second-hand bike. In addition, we have supported hundreds through our programmes designed to build confidence and build friendships in the local community.
We are now working towards our ambitious goal - that every refugee, wherever they are, can access the transformative power of a bike. Alongside this, we are strengthening our processes and procedures to ensure we are work efficiently and sustainably.

Role and Responsibilities
This role will suit someone who can adapt or work in a fast-paced environment, who can prioritise activities based on the expected amount of income they generate.
As Fundraising Officer, you’ll play a key role across a wide range of fundraising activities, including supporting Trusts and Foundations grant applications, managing our challenge events programme, leading DIY fundraising initiatives, assisting with individual giving appeals, delivering supporter events, and ensuring high-quality donor stewardship. You’ll work closely with colleagues to engage supporters, drive income, and maintain accurate records in Salesforce.
Skills and Qualiifcations
We’re looking for a proactive Fundraising Officer with strong digital skills and experience using fundraising platforms such as Raisely. You’ll have a track record in campaign delivery, event management, and donor communications, with excellent copywriting skills and the ability to adapt messages for different audiences. Previous fundraising experience is essential, along with the ability to take initiative and work independently to achieve results.
Location
Hybrid - At least two days per week on site in our London office (Brixton) and Deptford workshop, the remainder of your hours can be worked remotely.

Manchester Central Foodbank is a busy Trussell Trust-affiliated food bank, with centres in Central, North, and East Manchester. We were established in Ardwick in 2013 by students at the Manchester Universities’ Catholic Chaplaincy, making us the first student-led food bank in the country. Since then we have grown significantly, expanding our weekly sessions into Harpurhey and Openshaw.
Our core aims are to deliver the best quality support that we can to the largest number of our neighbours in need, while working with partners and influencing and organising at a neighbourhood and citywide level to reduce and end the need for food banks in Manchester.
We currently support 16,000 people per year with nutritionally balanced 3-day food parcels. This is double the number of people we supported in the first year following the Covid-19 pandemic, and four times the number supported in 2019. We also provide financial inclusion support with advice workers in public sessions, access to energy vouchers, SIM cards, and other voucher or material support. We coordinate across a network of 200 active front-line referral agencies with the aim of ensuring everyone who accesses our service has appropriate, specialised, and ongoing support alongside the material provision that we provide.
We are active leaders in anti-poverty organising and community development, as convenors of the citywide Building an Anti-Poverty Community collective and aim to be key shapers and influencers of new strategies and policies, working closely to support and influence local government, NHS, education and research agendas in Manchester and more widely building upon our track record of successful anti-poverty partnership work, social value impact and Parliamentary influencing. Key responsibilities
As Chief Executive Officer you will be the key senior staff leader for the charity. You will lead the team to ensure they have the resources, frameworks, and support to effect smooth day-to-day running of our frontline support service. You will provide a strong business management focus, through supporting the financial process, overall metrics and reporting, day to day HR and input for the external Payroll Team, Health and Safety, appropriate working conditions, and strategic planning and communications.

Develop and build a new Delivery Strategy with the Chair of Trustees and Operations and Project Lead.

Support the Operations and Project Lead and Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator to safely store and maintain optimal stock levels, maximise food donation levels and reduce food spend, develop and maintain relationships with community donors, and record incoming and outgoing stock, with the aim of ensuring that all centres are well stocked to provide as many varied, balanced, and nutritious and culturally-appropriate food parcels as necessary.

Ensure compliance with the procedures set out in Manchester Central Foodbank’s policies, the Trussell Trust’s Operating Manual, and relevant statutory requirements at all times.

Working with the Chair of Trustees on development, monitoring, and implementation of the core charity strategy and sub-strategies. About you
Essential Experience and Knowledge:

5 years’ experience of leading a similar profiled charity or organisation and successful Board interaction.

Role purpose
The Senior Challenge Fundraising Officer will lead the delivery and growth of APF’s third-party and mass participation challenge events portfolio.
This role exists to significantly grow income and participation by managing end-to-end third-party challenge events, developing community-facing charity-owned fundraising products and delivering excellent supporter stewardship
Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and colleagues across Communications, Services and the Operations Team, you will increase recruitment, empower supporters to raise ambitious funds, and create journeys that encourage long-term engagement with APF.
Success in this role means more people fundraising for APF, raising more income and feeling valued, supported and inspired to stay connected to our mission.
Key Responsibilities
1. Grow participation in third party
- Manage the full lifecycle of third-party and mass participation challenge events, from planning and recruitment through to stewardship and re engagement.
- Develop and execute creative marketing strategies to boost participation and attract new event participants.
- Draft engaging promotional content that inspires and engages our supporters in collaboration with the Communications team.
- Promote third-party events proactively across relevant channels and networks.
- Work with the wider Fundraising team to improve and refine the stewardship journey for challenge participants to maximise the participant experience.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a new role designed to raise and facilitate fundraising for James’ Place Birmingham and to grow community and voluntary sector relationships across the region to raise awareness of James’ Place to drive referrals to our Birmingham centre.
As part of the Fundraising team, you will take a leading role in building strong networks across Birmingham and the West Midlands, helping to establish our centre as a sustainable source of life-saving support for men in suicidal crisis.

THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Fundraising Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and opportunity generation
- Support the team by researching and keeping abreast of new funding opportunities across trusts, foundations, and corporate prospects.

Funding applications and pitch support
- Assist the Senior Fundraising Lead and Director of Fundraising with writing funding applications.

To enable Operation Smile’s global surgical activities, OSUK’s Partnerships Team works to maximise high-potential income channels such as corporate partnerships, major donors, community fundraisers and trusts and foundations.
We have created an exciting new position in our team for an ambitious and confident relationship fundraiser. Working as part of the Partnership Team and line managing one Partnerships Officer, the Partnerships Manager position will secure critical income from new and existing corporate partners through compelling pitches and excellent stewardship.
The position will build on existing partner relationships with high-profile businesses like Superdrug, the Perfume Shop and Johnson & Johnson, aiming to grow their contributions, as well as making approaches to new prospects in relevant sectors, working closely with the Director of Partnerships.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Corporate Partnerships Development
- Ensure achievement of annual income target for corporate partnerships
- Take primary responsibility for managing the current pool of medium and large corporate partnerships, including global partners (working with Operation Smile Inc), to ensure their growth and longevity – strategic input into the growth of each partner will be essential
- Develop and implement plans for partner activity to maximise all income channels, including corporate philanthropy, employee engagement, cause-related marketing and more
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of new corporate fundraising prospects, creating propositions/proposals and making approaches, working with the Director of Partnerships
- Enhance our employee engagement and community fundraising offer with simple, easy-to-do fundraising activities, linked to key moments in the calendar
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to partners and internal stakeholders
- Represent Operation Smile UK in global corporate partner discussions, applying any global strategies to develop successful fundraising plans for the UK
- Lead on the development and management of any corporate partner cultivation events
Additional Responsibilities
- Line manage one Partnerships Officer, supporting them to manage inbound community fundraising requests and existing relationships, as well as smaller corporate partners
- Oversight of community fundraising income target delivered by the Officer
- Create and maintain annual corporate partnerships and community fundraising budgets and business plans, including activities from current supporters and forecasting new business income
Additional Information
- 2 years’ experience in a corporate partnerships or business development role
- We promote flexible and hybrid working, with 2 days per week in our London office in Battersea (nearest stations Clapham Junction and Wandsworth Town). There will also be some UK travel for meetings, conferences and events.
- Some overseas travel required to visit projects and partner countries, a highlight of the role!

About the role
Church Army is entering a new chapter - with fresh leadership, a developing strategy and a real opportunity for someone to help shape how fundraising and engagement looks going forward. The beauty of this reimagined role is that it's both strategic and hands-on, with chance to learn and develop, potentially adding new strings to your fundraising bow.
The role holds responsibility for individual giving, legacies and trusts fundraising, but we don't expect you to come with it all. You'll be given the time, space and tools to develop any skills and experience you don't currently have.
What we definitely need is someone with a strong foundation in Individual Giving - that means the ability to lead on campaigns and product development, as well as confidently manage pipeline planning.
You'll take creative control and responsibility for delivering effective multi-channel fundraising appeals, including key moments in the campaign calendar, such as the Christmas appeal. Using insight, storytelling and data to deepen relationships and grow income, you'll develop meaningful supporter journeys that recruit, retain and inspire generosity. Working closely with colleagues across communications, operations and programmes, you'll help strengthen collaboration across teams, ensuring day-to-day activity and processes support the shared goal of bringing Church Army's mission to life.
You'll also line manage the Individual Giving Officer, providing guidance and support, as well as supervising and supporting the Trusts Consultant and Legacy Consultant. This could be a perfect development opportunity for someone looking to build or grow their leadership experience.
About you
- You're already an experienced Individual Giving fundraiser with a passion and talent for exceptional storytelling, able to write compelling copy that inspires people to take action.
- You can demonstrate previous experience managing campaigns or projects end-to-end and feel confident working with data and insight to optimise results.
- You either already see yourself as a leader or have ambition to be one, with the potential and capability to lead by example and provide guidance and mentorships to others.
We really want to emphasise that you don't need to tick all the boxes to be considered, but you do need to be motivated to broaden your skillset and experience, with natural curiosity and a solutions-focused way of being.
Alignment with Church Army's Christian mission and feeling comfortable working in a faith-based environment where prayer and shared values are part of daily life is important. This role has an occupational requirement for the postholder to be a practising Christian.
