Importantly, you’ll be someone who brings people together, listens deeply, and creates a safe, empowering space for growth and recovery.
Your presentation skills should engage, inspire, and inform with clarity and warmth, whether you’re speaking with a room full of volunteers, delivering training via Zoom, or presenting to our partnership organisations. You’ll also contribute to key projects that move SMART Recovery forward, adding your voice and insight to help shape what comes next. The role therefore requires project mangement skills as you will work on specific projects that develop our publications, training, communications and marketing. If you have a special interest and expertise in certain areas of our business such as social media and campaigns, training, volunteer management or copywriting we can develop this skill and interest as an enhancement to your role. About Us
Head and neck cancer is one of the fastest-rising cancers in the UK, now affecting around 14,000 people every year — the 5th most common cancer among men, 7th overall, and the fastest growing among young people. Too often, symptoms are missed or misunderstood, and more than half of cases are diagnosed at a late stage. That means compromised survival rates, more invasive treatment, and a recovery that can mean a new way of eating, speaking and living.
Oracle Head & Neck Cancer UK exists to change that story. We work to prevent cancers where possible, drive earlier detection, and make sure people have clear information, support and guidance through and after treatment — so nobody has to cope in silence or confusion. We also fund groundbreaking research and collaborate across the sector to maximise our impact for patients.
As the only national charity dedicated to head and neck cancers, we're moving in an exciting new direction — and we have a unique opportunity to build an organisation that delivers maximum impact for patients and their families, while staying true to our roots.
The Role
We're looking for an Individual Giving, Community & Events Fundraiser to join our small, ambitious team. You'll bring broad experience of individual giving and community fundraising (or strong transferable skills), and you'll be confident organising events and stewarding supporters across their whole journey with us.
We need someone flexible, hands-on, and ready to get stuck into everything a small charity has to offer. We push boundaries for our patient community, so we value people who bring innovation and aren't afraid to seize opportunities as they arise.
We offer a competitive salary and remote working, as well as a generous annual leave allowance and professional development and mentorship opportunities.
How to Apply
To apply, please submit your CV and a supporting statement of no more than 2 sides each. The statement must clearly demonstrate your relevant experience and how you meet the person specification set out in the full job description attached.

Join Challengers as Community Events and Partnerships Manager to play a key role in growing sustainable income and supporter engagement for the charity.
Location: Hybrid / Guilford (3 days per week in office)
Applications close: 9 a.m. Monday 10th August 2026
About Challengers
For almost 50 years, Challengers has been transforming the lives of disabled children and young people through inclusive play. We break down barriers, reduce isolation, support families, and provide respite and community when it’s needed most.
Nearly 1 in 5 children has a SEND need, yet many are excluded from school, play and community life, lacking safe spaces to connect and belong. This leads to isolation for children and intense pressure on families. Children become isolated, missing out on vital opportunities to develop confidence, friendship and independence. Parents are facing exhaustion, declining mental health and often being forced to give up work.
Challengers exists to break this cycle, creating inclusive, community-based spaces and providing services where disabled children and their families are supported. From play and youth schemes to family days and parent carer training and three alternative provision sites, our work tackles inclusion at its root by focusing on belonging, connection and dignity.
About the role
As the Community Events and Partnerships Manager, you will play a key role in growing sustainable income and supporter engagement for Challengers.
Leading the community, corporate & events team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious programme of community fundraising, challenge events, partnerships and supporter engagement activities.

Working collaboratively across the fundraising, communications and service delivery teams, you will identify opportunities to strengthen supporter engagement, raise the profile of Challengers and support the delivery of organisational fundraising objectives.
Acting as an enthusiastic ambassador for Challengers, you will represent the charity at fundraising, networking and community events and help build meaningful relationships with supporters, volunteers, local organisations and partners.
Who we are looking for
We seek a relationship-focused fundraising professional who thrives on bringing people together to make a tangible difference. You’ll be passionate about creating exceptional supporter experiences, building lasting relationships and delivering engaging fundraising activities that inspire individuals, communities and corporate partners to support our mission.

About us
We’re a vibrant, values-led local charity and proud partner of the Age UK network. Every day, we work alongside older people to design and deliver services that promote wellbeing, independence and dignity. From supporting people to manage their health, to tackling loneliness and influencing local policy, we put people and communities at the heart of everything we do.
As we look to the future, we’re focused on innovation, growth and lasting impact — building stronger partnerships, diversifying our income, and creating new ways to reach more people across our borough.
