Job description

Overall purpose of the role

Across London today, we estimate that one in two people do not have a Christian in their life who might share the gospel with them or invite them to church. Tragically it’s in London’s most deprived communities that people are least likely to hear this invitation.

That’s why we come alongside Christians across London and beyond – to encourage, equip and support them to make long-term connection with the people around them, and to invite them to follow Jesus. We seek to ignite a movement of mission in the local church.

The Communications and Marketing Team seeks to inspire Christians in London and beyond to join us in this mission. By telling stories that humanise those in gospel poverty, communicating the impact of missionary work, and producing content that is practical, prayer shaping, and mission mobilising, we are seeking to double the number of Christians and church leaders engaging with LCM over the next five years.

The Stories Lead contributes directly to this mission, playing a pivotal role as the conduit between what God is doing through LCM’s work with churches, training, and mission activity, and the audiences we seek to inspire. The role keeps close to the life of the mission, builds strong relationships with missionaries and colleagues, and captures compelling and inspiring stories from across the mission so they can be shared externally to invite people to pray, give, go, and join in the mission — and made available internally so teams across LCM can use them to do the same.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Capture and tell inspiring stories from across the mission
  2. Produce LCM’s quarterly magazine, Changing London
  3. Manage consent and support appropriate use of LCM’s photo library
  4. Produce/oversee LCM’s other key publications
  5. Contribute and collaborate across the wider Communications and Marketing Team

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have proven experience working in the field of communications (with knowledge of best practice communication activities and methods), excellent and compelling storytelling ability with clear written communication, and an evangelical heart for Jesus!

There is an occupational requirement that the person appointed be an evangelical Christian.

Application Deadline

Please note that there is no closing date for applications, rather applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Therefore, we encourage you to apply without delay to avoid disappointment, as the vacancy will close once a suitable candidate has been identified.
