General Overview:
The Events Team is a busy, creative and close-knit group of vibrant professionals who pride themselves on being solution-focused and going the extra mile for clients and partners.
We are looking for someone with proven venue or events operations experience who is passionate about supporting teams to deliver exceptional events. The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-orientated and confident working in a hands-on environment — willing to set up spaces, solve problems in real time and step in wherever needed to ensure events run smoothly.

Role Overview:
The Events Operations and Venues Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Events-run venues and the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality event environments across multiple parks, community venues and outdoor event sites. The role supports the overall event management function while managing part of the Venues Team and ensuring operational excellence across all spaces.
This position leads on operational logistics, facilities management and on-site delivery, ensuring venues are compliant, well-presented and fully prepared to support a diverse programme of events. The role is highly hands-on, requiring strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve quickly in fast-paced live environments.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Team & workforce management
- Line manage Duty Managers and oversee the wider casual workforce including Event Assistants, Security, Caretakers and Cleaners.
- Lead Recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training of casual staff
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix across all events and venues taking responsibility for the rota system
- Ensure effective coordination of rotas and cross-team event activity.
Venue Operations & Facilities Management
- Lead the day-to-day operational management of all Events-run venues.
- Ensure venues are compliant, safe, well-presented and fit for purpose.
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance with central operations teams.
- Oversee venue equipment procurement and asset management.
- Manage venue contractors and oversea repair works in Event spaces.
- Contribute to twice-yearly Council H&S audits.
On-Site Delivery
- Support the Head of Events and Production Team in delivering Enable-Produced Events
- Provide hands-on operational leadership during live events.
- Deliver full event management of ad hoc or operationally complex events where required.
Health & Safety
- Lead on Health & Safety across Events and Venues operations.
- Own and continuously improve operational H&S frameworks, policies and safe systems of work.
- Work alongside the Operations team to ensure venue Risk Assessments are robust and up to date and operationally effective for event spaces
- Oversee contractor compliance including RAMS, insurance and method statements.
- Quality assure weekly, monthly and event-specific H&S inspections.
- Contribute to audits, investigations and incident reviews.
- Embed a proactive safety culture across the Events Team.
- Represent the Events Team on operational and Health & Safety matters, coordinating with central Operations and Council stakeholders as required.
- Provide assurance reporting to senior management as required.
Financial & Commercial Oversight
- Manage operational budgets and monitor expenditure.
- Update and reconcile supplier costs and credit card logs.
- Seeking quotes for goods and services in line with Enable’s Procurement Code, and raising purchase orders as required
- Assist with contractor invoice processing and ensure timely follow-up where required.
- Contribute to budget forecasting and cost control.
- Ensuring all timesheets for casual staff are accurate and processed on time
- Managing supplier performance against SLA’s, monitoring cost control and value for money

We’re currently looking for a Workplace Services Technician, offered on a permanent basis of to help us deliver our mission. This a part time position working 21 hours per week with flexible days that suit individual needs while delivering on business needs. This role has high flexibility where the individual could choose three full time days, or four/five days with shorter days to fit around other commitments / personal preferences. The Role
What will I be doing?
You’ll be responsible for a range of activities, including:
- Managing the relationship with our maintenance provider to ensure our building is in good repair and being maintained as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Supervising work that is happening onsite to understand the cause and solution as well as making sure that it is conducted safely.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy workplace through regular inspections, keeping all spaces safe, reviewing RAMS, and enforcing our permit-to-work system.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner. This includes undertaking a wide range of fabric work such as basic plumbing, painting / decorating, or mechanical issues.
- Working with the Senior Workplace Officer to move furniture safely and working together around dates for work that balance the need of resolution and cause the least amount of disruption.
Projects you may work on include:
- Air source heat pump installation
- Building sustainability initiatives
- Lifts being refurbed
Who will I work with?

Essential:
- Previous building services/M&E skills, knowledge, and experience ideally on client side and a team that held all hard services.
- Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent experience in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical discipline.
- Good knowledge and clear understanding of Health and Safety regulations such as LOLER, Electricity at Work, Working from Heights, and used permit to work systems before.
- Knowledge of and experience in building systems such as BMS / Lighting Systems / Pumping / Lifts / Low Pressure Hot Water Systems / Pressurisation Systems / Ventilation Systems etc.
- Experience of working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, ensuring expectation are met and communication is regular and clear.
- An IOSH Managing Safely certification or similar is essential.

- Experience with invoices processing and finding the most cost-effective solution. Ideally within charities to understand budget restrictions and be creative with solutions.
- Be first aid and emergency marshal qualified (must be willing to have this responsibility).
- Knowledge and experience solar panels, green roof, and air sourced heat pumps.
- Mansafe wired system working from height training (must be willing to hold this qualification.

We’re looking for someone with at least three years’ fundraising experience within a campaigning organisation, charity, membership body, or political party. You’ll bring the creativity and drive needed to start a programme almost from scratch, alongside practical experience delivering fundraising across both digital and print channels. You’ll know how to engage different audiences, motivate them to give, and build strong relationships over time.
You’ll also be someone who loves working with data - using it to understand donor behaviour, analyse performance, spot trends, and make smart, evidence-based decisions. By combining data, strong storytelling, and supporter insight, you’ll help us deepen donor engagement and increase income to fuel RMJ’s mission.

About the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF)
All of us will experience violence at some point in our lives. For many children, it is a daily reality. Each year, tens of children are killed, hundreds are hospitalised, 1 in 5 teenage children are victims and the majority admit to feeling afraid of violence. It scares them when they travel home from school, prevents them from going out and makes the most vulnerable feel like they don’t matter. It is taking lives, traumatising families and dividing communities. It robs potential, progress and hope.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
The Youth Endowment Fund believes that no child should be affected by violence. We research violence to understand it; we find, fund and test what works to prevent it; and we are building a movement to end it.
Communications at YEF
The Communications team, within the External Affairs and Youth Understanding directorate, is a critical arm of the organisation. We can only reduce violence if people hear about what works and put it into practice. Change is hard and it only happens if people trust where it comes from and want to engage with what we are communicating. We can only make change at scale if we’re smart about using digital tools to reach a growing, diverse audience across society.
We need professionals working across our sectors — youth-workers, police officers, social workers, policymakers, headteachers, and more — to find out about and be part of our movement. To do this, we must communicate with humility, authenticity and clarity.
We need politicians, commissioners and funders to follow our guidance and use our products. To do this, we must secure a seat at the table, communicate with intellectual rigour and persuade using the evidence.
We also need to connect with wider society, helping anyone who cares about making Britain safer for the next generation to understand what we do, what works and how they can support our cause. To do this, our brand must be accessible and inspiring, leveraging robust research alongside human storytelling.
As the Head of Digital Communications, you will be essential to achieving our mission. You will join the YEF at an exciting time. We are entering a crucial phase of increasing our policy influence at the top of government, changing things for the better across our sectors — education, youth justice, youth sector, children’s services, policing, health — and mobilising a movement to keep children and young people safe.
Your job is to make sure that the right people are drawn to our website and our digital communications, that they discover and engage with our content — from quoting our data, to using our Toolkit and evidence, to following practical recommendations in our guidance, to watching videos about the latest trends and conversations in violence prevention — and trust what we have to say.
You will support the Director of External Affairs and Youth Understanding to plan, build and execute a digital campaign to make all of this happen. You will help to lead the Communications team to hold the attention of our priority audiences and making them act.
Key Responsibilities
- The core of your job is to ensure that YEF's audience grows rapidly and strategically in size, that people working in our sectors gain awareness and confidence in our brand and that decision-makers engage with our work via our digital channels: our website, social media, newsletters, search, long- and short-form videos and the Safe podcast.
- You will further develop YEF’s existing digital marketing strategy into a national campaign across 2026-2029 for mobilising the evidence to prevent violence affecting children and young people.
- You will provide leadership to YEF generally and the Communications team specifically - managing the Senior Digital Marketing Manager and Digital Marketing and Communications Officer – to develop internal collaboration for boosting organisation-wide digital activity, such as call-to-actions via social media and video content.
- You will execute a strategy for moving to a more segmented, sector-specific communication strategy that engages each audience (whether teachers, youth workers, police officers etc.) to use of YEF’s products whether our Toolkit, our Guidance on what works and self-assessment tools for each sector.
- To commission and develop compelling, eye-catching video content that authentically showcases case studies of our work, drives our audiences towards our channels and products and significantly boosts widespread engagement — views, likes, comments and shares — online.
- To help secure and convert high-profile digital communications opportunities for the team in representing YEF’s work, including podcast and video placements.
- To develop and leverage relevant agency relationships, and use data analytics, to optimise our SEO positioning for online searches related to youth violence, advise on investment in paid advertising to drive traffic to our website and products, and generally boost our digital engagement.

Sydenham Garden is seeking to appoint a Community Engagement and Fundraising Lead for two days per week on a fixed term contract for two years. They will join our team of 14 staff and 70 volunteers supporting people living with mental ill-health and dementia in south-east London.

Our Organisation
Sydenham Garden, based in Lewisham in South-East London, is a special, unique and beloved wellbeing centre utilising its gardens, nature reserve and activity rooms to help people living with and recovering from mental and physical ill-health. We were established in 2002 and will celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2027. We provide nature and arts based creative, social and therapeutic activities for co-workers (the name we give our primary beneficiaries). People are referred to us from community organisations and health professionals and we use an integrative approach where those with different degrees of mental and physical ill health come together with volunteers from the local community to reduce social exclusion and prejudice. Each year we work with on average over 250 co-workers and over 70 volunteers.
About you
You’ll have experience in building relationships with individual donors, increasing income from community sources and engaging and enthusing volunteers and supporters around a cause. You’ll have excellent communication and people skills and feel comfortable both thinking strategically and managing competing priorities day-to-day. Most importantly, you’ll thrive in a small team working to make a big impact for people living with mental ill-health and dementia.

Our Organisation
Sydenham Garden, based in Lewisham in South-East London, is a special, unique and beloved wellbeing centre utilising its gardens, nature reserve and activity rooms to help people living with and recovering from mental and physical ill-health. We were established in 2002 and will celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2027. We provide nature and arts based creative, social and therapeutic activities for co-workers (the name we give our primary beneficiaries). People are referred to us from community organisations and health professionals and we use an integrative approach where those with different degrees of mental and physical ill health come together with volunteers from the local community to reduce social exclusion and prejudice. Each year we work with on average over 250 co-workers and over 70 volunteers.

You’ll have experience in building relationships with a range of Trusts, Foundations and statutory funders, drafting compelling funding proposals and demonstrating impact through high-quality reports. The person:

A deep understanding of the challenges faced by communities and places across the UK is essential and having hands-on experience of tackling these issues will be very valuable to this role. The Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager role presents an opportunity to play a critical role in income and impact for our work here at Breakthrough T1D.You will oversee strategic partnerships with key industry partners who share our passion for a world without T1D.We’re looking for a confident relationship builder with experience and a touch of creative flair to build on our highly valued strong and long-established partnerships.We want to take these partnerships to another level in the years ahead and build further partnerships to accelerate progress for our mission.This role is a key member of the Fundraising & Engagement division and engages with senior colleagues across the organisation, within our international Breakthrough T1D community and also key partners.It’s an exciting time at Breakthrough T1D with a new and ambitious strategy and if you’d like to help make the next chapter a reality, we would love to hear from you.
Experience required
You’ll have previous experience of:

Extensive experience of either working in corporate fundraising, preferably in a new business environment, or working in a commercial marketing/sales position in a client facing role, preferably with knowledge of the medtech and pharmaceutical industries.

Experience of researching, prioritising and developing new strategic business partnership opportunities.

Experience of achieving and exceeding new business income targets including developing individual corporate partnerships to the value of £100k+.

Purpose
This role plays a key part in strengthening Involve Kent’s ability to secure sustainable, values-aligned income that enables our mission: ensuring people and communities have the support, connections, and opportunities they need to thrive.
As a Grants & Bids Development Officer, you will help shape the future of our services by developing compelling, evidence-based applications to charitable trusts, foundations, and public sector commissioners. Your work will directly contribute to tackling inequality, expanding access to support, and driving positive change across Kent and Medway.
You will be part of a collaborative development function that is curious, positive, and committed to learning. Working closely with colleagues across operational teams, you will translate real-world insight into powerful cases for support, ensuring our bids are grounded in lived experience, strong evidence, and Involve Kent’s values.
The primary focus is trusts and bids. Legacy stewardship is welcome but not essential and will be proportionate to capacity.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
1) Trusts & Foundations
• Pipeline management: Maintain and develop a rolling, well-qualified trusts pipeline with a clear annual submission calendar.
• Proposal drafting: Produce compelling, tailored proposals and reports aligned to funder criteria, organisational priorities, and impact goals.
• Impact & budgeting: Work with service leads and Finance to evidence need, outcomes, and impact; align restricted budgets; draft clear budget narratives and simple throughput justifications.
• Compliance: Maintain accurate records of applications, grant conditions, and reporting schedules to agreed timelines and standards.
• Reporting: Produce a weekly opportunities update and a monthly snapshot summarising pipeline status and next steps.
2) Contracts (Public Sector Bids)
• Horizon scanning & qualification: Monitor procurement portals; complete eligibility matrices; assemble bid packs; maintain a concise tender pipeline.
• Bid/no-bid support: Prepare clear opportunity summaries to inform go/no-go decisions; deliver activity in line with approved timelines.
• Compliance & readiness: Conduct eligibility and compliance checks; maintain a simple risk and dependency register for live tenders; escalate risks promptly.
• Document control & content library: Maintain a secure shared drive, up-to-date bid library, version-controlled documents, and reusable answer bank; assemble clean, compliant bid submissions.
• Drafting: Produce first drafts of standard non-technical narrative sections (approach, social value, summaries) and refine with input from subject specialists.
• Partner engagement: Coordinate partner contributions and collate documentation where collaborating on joint bids.
3) Legacy (Light-Touch)
• Stewardship: Deliver simple, proportionate stewardship as agreed each month - maintain a basic journey (welcome, updates, pledge logging), keep template copy current, and handle basic enquiries.
4) Insight & Governance
• Compliance: Ensure accurate data capture, confidentiality, and information governance compliance.
• Debrief: Log win/lose feedback and use insights to strengthen templates, processes, and content.
• Reporting: Track and report monthly KPIs; contribute insight to broader forecasting discussions.
5) Organisational Responsibilities
• Supervision & meetings: Attend team meetings, training, and supervision; actively contribute to organisational learning.
• Wellbeing & resilience: Take responsibility for your wellbeing, maintain healthy boundaries, and seek support when needed.
