FTWW is looking for a Communications Coordinator! The successful candidate will develop and grow the organisation’s online platform, including sharing information, resources and signposting within FTWW’s pan-Wales virtual peer support community and beyond.
The role is full-time (0.8 FTE considered for the right candidate), home-based within Wales, with occasional travel to events and meetings, so a driving licence and access to a car would be an advantage. We work flexibly, but core working hours are between 10am-4pm, and the successful candidate will be expected to work some evening and weekends, as required.
We are a small but mighty charity where no two days are the same. You may be involved in promoting a focus group to our members one day and meeting with a journalist the next. We currently have over 100 registered volunteers and over 2000 members of our online community, and you will work closely with our Volunteer & Community Coordinator to ensure that our members are at the heart of what we do.
The ability to speak Welsh, or a willingness to learn, is desirable.

Salary, benefits, and other key information
IPNEd is hosted by Results UK. The line manager for this role will be IPNEd’s Senior Policy & Advocacy Adviser.
1. Starting date
The position is available immediately, and is offered as an initial 12-month contract with the intention of being extended if funding permits.
2. Salary
This role is graded at Results Professional Level Two with a salary of £32,785 per annum.
3. Hours of work
This is a full time role 35 hours a week. These hours will be worked as agreed with the line manager, but some flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the job. There is no paid overtime, but Results UK offers a flexitime system for all staff.
4. Holidays
25 days per year plus bank holidays. Holidays increase by one day per year of service to a maximum of 30 days. Holidays are earned in arrears.
5. Notice Period and Probationary Period
This role has a one-month notice period. The employee will have a probationary period of three months, during which time the notice period is one week.
6. Location
The post is a hybrid role with the expectation that the postholder can work from Results’ office at Clarence Centre for Enterprise and Innovation, 6 St George’s Circus, London, SE1 6FE when required.
Currently, most Results UK staff are combining working from home with time in the office.
7. Travel
Occasional International travel will be required. The post holder must be able and willing to travel to Global North and Global South countries.
8. Additional Benefits
Staff joining Results are automatically enrolled in our company pension scheme unless they choose to opt out. A legally mandated minimum employee contribution applies, and all employee contributions to the pension are matched 1:1 by Results up to a maximum of 5% of gross salary.

We also have our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme which currently supports about 3,500 children a year. It pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 150 local and national businesses. The volunteer pledge is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

About the role
Working for 5 hours per day, 5 days a week (term-time only) at Thomas Buxton Primary School in Tower Hamlets, this role will involve delivering a programme of 1:1 focussed sessions for selected Reception and Year 1 children. The ELI will be trained to use Chapter One’s specialised online tool designed to support learners who are at risk of falling behind with their phonics.
We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic individual who enjoys working with young children and who wants to make their mark in a fast-growing charity. We can offer training, a small friendly team and a chance to improve the lives of children facing disadvantage.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct an initial baseline assessment of selected target children in Reception and Year 1 to determine where further support is needed.
Use Chapter One’s online tool to deliver differentiated, daily, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach.
Use a variety of additional activities to reinforce phonics skills.
Support children to use their secure phonics knowledge to read decodable books.
Develop pupils’ phonics fluency and confidence in preparation for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, where applicable.
Document each session with a child, including the skills practised or mastered and a goal for the next session.
Maintain and update daily pupil progress trackers, identifying phonics skills secured and areas requiring consolidation to inform future teaching.
Challenge pupils to reach each new goal and celebrate pupil success.
Work closely and on an ongoing basis with classroom teachers, reading support staff and the school team to understand progression of the schools phonics teaching.
Work closely with classroom teachers to establish tailored plans for each child.
Provide school leaders with data and information on pupil progress.
Gather feedback from school on progress of the programme and any implementation challenges, aiming to help Chapter One to continuously improve programme delivery.
Collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.
Qualifications Criteria
Maths and English GCSE at Grade 5 or above.
Right to work in the UK.

We are a specialist Further Education college, where every 16-19 student takes Computer Science and all of our diverse Higher Level and Degree Apprentices work in skills shortage disciplines in innovative, blue-chip companies.
The digital skills gap is costing the UK economy an estimated £63 billion a year in lost GDP. Ada seeks to fill this skills gap by equipping young with the skills industry actually needs.
Ada was announced by the Prime Minister in December 2014; England’s first new FE College since 1993 and since then we’ve gone from strength to strength including a Good with Outstanding features in our first Ofsted Inspection.
16-19 Provision:
As of 2024, we have 187 16-19 students enrolled. Our most recent results are outstanding; 39% of A level results at A*- B and 74% achieving at least one Distinction or better in their externally assessed Computing BTEC. This makes us the best education institution in the country for this BTEC.
Degree Apprenticeships:
Across our London Victoria and Manchester Ancoats campus, we have 363 apprentices currently enrolled on our Higher and Degree Level Apprenticeships. We specialise in five disciplines at present: software development, data analytics, tech consultancy, cyber security and business analysis, working with a wide range of SMEs and corporate organisations such as PwC, Bank of America, Deloitte, Clearscore, Just Eat, Capita, MHRA, Booking,com and Salesforce.

KEY ASPECTS OF THE ROLE & MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Learner Experience and Inclusion
●Lead student voice and engagement initiatives, delivering a dynamic programme of assemblies, enrichment activities and student-led opportunities.
●Coordinate weekly enrichment clubs and lunchtime activities to enhance student participation and wellbeing.
●Build positive relationships with students, parents and carers to create an inclusive and supportive college environment.
●Support the implementation of the college’s inclusion strategy, ensuring high standards of student support and participation.
●Facilitate student forums, surveys and focus groups, working closely with curriculum teams to strengthen learner engagement.
II. Student Finance and Administration
●Administer student bursaries and financial support, providing guidance to students and responding to learner and parent enquiries.
●Work with Finance and Attendance teams to manage student finance processes through Applica and ensure timely bursary payments linked to attendance.
●Maintain accurate records of support interventions and financial assistance on college systems.

●Support the college’s attendance and engagement strategy, identifying and responding to persistent absence and disengagement.
