Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding role working for an intersectional feminist organisation? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you to join our team as Counsellor at Solace Women's Aid.

We exist to end the harm caused by gender-based violence. Our aim is to prevent violence and abuse, as well as provide services that meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse.

About the Service

The London Survivors Collective is comprised of seven organisations (The four London Rape Crisis Centres, Galop, Survivors UK, and Respond) working together to provide comprehensive support to victim/survivors of sexual violence across London. Our alliance model enables us to draw on each member’s expertise with the specific care that is tailored to their needs

About the Role

The postholder will provide high-quality counselling to survivors of sexual violence, ages 11+ across London. Working from a person-centred framework, they will have a thorough understanding of issues prevalent in the gender-based violence sector and provide therapeutic remotely.

About You

We are looking for a person-centred counsellor, with a thorough understanding of issues prevalent in the gender-based violence sector, including sexual violence and CSA.

Qualified to Diploma level with experience post qualification providing one to one counselling 250 hours minimum - those with fewer hours but demonstrable experience in the VAWG sector or with trauma will be considered. 

BACP accredited, or equivalent, or working towards accreditation.

Additional Information

This is a hybrid role at 15 hours per week. Counsellors will work a minimum of one evening shift at our Head Office. Shifts are typically in the evenings between 5pm- 8pm, with the latest finish at 9pm. This is a fixed term contract ending on 31st March 2027.
