An exciting opportunity for an Events Fundraising Assistant has arisen at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).
WCRF is the UK's leading cancer prevention charity, focusing on the link between cancer and risk factors such as diet, body weight and physical activity. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Events Fundraising Assistant to help deliver our growing programme of challenge events and community fundraising activities on a fixed-term contract to May 2027. Supporting the Events, Community and Digital Fundraising Manager, you will play an important role in delivering an excellent experience for our supporters from the moment they register through to event day and beyond. You'll help with participant communications, event administration, fundraising stewardship, supporter enquiries, logistics and event delivery, ensuring every supporter feels valued and inspired throughout their fundraising journey.

We're looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills who enjoys building relationships and providing outstanding supporter care. You may already have experience in fundraising, events, customer service, administration or another people-focused role, or you may be looking to take your first step into the charity sector. Above all, you'll be proactive, enthusiastic and keen to learn, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work accurately and collaborate effectively as part of a small, ambitious team. Experience of using Microsoft Office packages and CRM systems would be an advantage, while an interest in social media, digital marketing or challenge events would be welcomed.

You’ll be self-driven, motivated by achieving targets and delivering the best possible supporter experience. The role involves project management and innovation, and you’ll be responsible for confidently driving projects forward, whilst confidently managing a range of internal and external stakeholders.

This is a new role within the Individual Giving team, supporting our ambition to grow and develop unrestricted income. The Opportunity
This is a new and significant appointment for SWT UK. We are looking for a Director of Development to develop and lead our UK fundraising strategy – taking ownership of income generation across all streams, donor communications and supporter stewardship, and managing a team of three talented fundraising professionals.
Our individual supporter base is large globally – growing in UK – loyal and deeply engaged: many give through our elephant adoption programme, which connects them directly with named animals in our care. We are now ready to build on this engaged supporter base and develop it into a structured individual giving programme – with mid-level giving pathways, major donor cultivation, systematic stewardship and deeper philanthropic relationships. That is the central challenge and opportunity of this role.
We also have active corporate and trust relationships, a legacy programme in development, and real potential to grow income from European and international funders. The Director of Development will take ownership of all of this – hands on and strategic in equal measure.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement a new UK fundraising strategy, establishing clear priorities, income targets and programmes that will drive growth through to 2030 and beyond
- Develop and implement a UK individual giving programme – building on our adoption base to create structured giving journeys, mid-level and major donor cultivation, and meaningful stewardship
- Manage the UK fundraising budget, set and monitor income targets across all streams, and report regularly to the Executive Director on performance and ROI
- Take day-to-day ownership of corporate and trust relationships, writing reports, proposals and partner communications
- Build a major donor programme from the ground up, identifying and cultivating high-value individual prospects
- Develop legacy marketing activity, working alongside our existing legacy administrator and Freewill partnership
- Manage and inspire a team of three: Communications and Fundraising Manager, Retail Manager and Supporter Care Officer, and Fundraising Support Officer
- Oversee the donor database (Donorfy), ensuring data quality and insight-driven decision making
- Explore opportunities to grow income from European and international donors
- Contribute to the global income picture, including through improved donor stewardship and deeper supporter engagement
- Support the growth of SWT's profile and visibility in the UK through press opportunities, social media, and other channels.
About You
We are looking for a fundraiser who loves the craft – someone who is energised by building relationships, writing a compelling proposal, developing a giving programme from scratch, and ensuring every supporter feels genuinely valued. This is a hands-on role as much as a leadership one, and the right person will be comfortable doing both.
- Proven track record in fundraising, with demonstrable success securing income from individuals, trusts or corporates – including five-figure gifts and above
- Experience developing individual giving programmes, including mid-level or major donor cultivation
- A hands-on practitioner – comfortable writing proposals, reports and donor communications yourself
- Experience managing a small fundraising team with warmth, clarity and accountability
- Strong relationship management and stewardship skills
- Experience working with a donor CRM and using data to inform fundraising decisions
- Comfortable in a building role – excited by developing programmes that don't yet exist
- Experience managing fundraising budgets and producing income forecasts and performance reports.
- Genuine passion for wildlife conservation – this role is for someone who cares about the cause
- Committed to in-person working – we believe day-to-day presence and collaboration produces better outcomes for our donors and our team, and ask for a minimum of three days per week at our Billingshurst office

We are looking for a confident and organised Face-to-Face Fundraising Officer to join our ambitious Individual Giving team. Working closely with the Individual Giving Manager (Face-to-Face Fundraising), this role will spearhead the planning, delivery and optimisation of face-to-face fundraising activity across a range of products and channels including Regular Giving, Lottery and Payroll Giving.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day management of campaigns and relationships with external fundraising agencies and suppliers. They will help ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on brand and in line with all relevant regulations and codes of practice, whilst supporting strong supporter experience and high-quality fundraising standards.
The role will also support reporting, KPI monitoring, forecasting and campaign analysis, helping to identify trends, opportunities and areas for optimisation across the programme. Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Management
· Plan, manage and deliver face-to-face fundraising campaigns across a range of products and channels including Regular Giving, Lottery and Payroll Giving.
· Work closely with external fundraising agencies and suppliers to support the successful delivery of campaigns and maintain effective working relationships.
· Act as a day-to-day point of contact for external stakeholders and agency partners.

The Opportunity
This is a newly created senior role offering the opportunity to shape the future of fundraising at ISH.
Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Trustees and senior leadership team, you will develop and deliver a comprehensive fundraising strategy that grows philanthropic income and builds sustainable funding streams.
You'll lead on developing relationships with trusts and foundations, major donors, alumni, corporate partners and international supporters while creating compelling fundraising campaigns that inspire long-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities
As Fundraising Manager, you will:

Develop and implement a 3–5 year fundraising strategy aligned with ISH's strategic objectives.

Build a diverse fundraising portfolio across trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships, alumni, community fundraising and international philanthropy.

Identify, cultivate and steward major donors and strategic partners.

Lead the development of compelling funding applications and grant proposals.

Secure significant income from trusts, foundations, government bodies and corporate sponsors.

Develop donor stewardship and recognition programmes that encourage long-term support.

Work collaboratively with Marketing, Alumni Relations, Events and CRM colleagues to deliver integrated fundraising campaigns.

Establish fundraising KPIs, monitor performance and report regularly to the CEO, Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees.

Manage and develop the Fundraising Assistant while fostering a collaborative fundraising culture across the organisation.

Ensure all fundraising activity complies with charity law, the Code of Fundraising Practice and data protection legislation.
About You
You will be a motivated fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing significant philanthropic income and developing successful fundraising strategies.

What you'll be doing:
- Supporting with the development of campaigns and appeals.
- Assisting the delivery of inspiring supporter journeys for individual supporters, including thanking and stewardship processes.
- Coordinating supporter communications and follow data processes to support the programme and ensure consistency.
- Coordinating team financial procedures.
What you’ll bring:
- Great communication and organisational skills
- Confidence using IT software including Microsoft Office.
- Experience of serving customers and/or supporters.
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases and managing financial processes would be beneficial, but training will be provided.
- Knowledge of any of the following areas would be beneficial but training will be provided: fundraising, marketing, gifts in wills and in-memory giving.

The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is recruiting a Community and Individual Fundraiser to be an integral part of the small and driven fundraising team. Inspiring and managing community groups, individual fundraisers, and individual donations.
As an enthusiastic fundraiser you will help diversify income and grow loyalty by building and nurturing relationships both with future supporters and existing donors. You will work to increase supporter engagement and develop recurring giving through our ‘Friends of the Trust’ programme. You will also play a proactive part in our wider fundraising activities, helping us be even more accessible to all young people who have a cancer diagnosis in the UK, and have the biggest positive impact possible on every one of them.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Working with individuals, community groups and clubs you will build meaningful relationships and deliver excellent supporter experiences, increasing engagement and maximising fundraising income. You will be responsible for individidual gifts up to the value of £5,000 and integral to our fundraising strategy, you will play a key role in creating and developing new public fundraising initiatives from the ground up, helping to grow income and inspire support.
Community & Individual fundraising
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fundraisers and supporters, providing excellent stewardship and support throughout their fundraising journey.
- Identify and develop new fundraising opportunities, with a key focus on engaging our warm and proactive community of families and volunteers.
- Develop and grow our successful ‘Talks’ series, working with our nationwide volunteer speaker network to engage sailing clubs across the UK, raising awareness of our work and encouraging long-term support.
- Inspire and support individuals taking part in fundraising challenges and activities. Providing fundraising advice, motivation and practical support.
- Champion and develop digital fundraising opportunities.
- Identify, propose and deliver new ideas and campaigns, maximising our engaged supporter base as well as new audiences.
- Be a passionate ambassador of Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust at community fundraising events and talks to raise awareness of the charity.
Individual giving
- Provide excellent supporter care through written and verbal communication throughout the year as needed.
- Maintaining accurate records of donations made directly and from third-party platforms and ensure all donors and fundraisers are thanked in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Identifying opportunities within our individual donors and engaged community to retain and grow loyalty.
- Manage and develop relationships with monthly donors, working to develop stewardship journeys that engage and encourage long-term commitment and growth from this income stream. Identify growth opportunities and potential to turn one-off donors into regular supporters.
Team responsibilities
- Where needed, use your creativity to work with the Communication team to develop collateral related to community and individual fundraising.
- Participate in regular meetings with wider team to inform and update on progress, ensuring other departments know and can celebrate funding successes.
- Support the wider Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust teams across the year during busy periods, as required.
- Comply with all Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust policies and procedures and maintain the highest standards of data management and GDPR compliance.
