About the Role

We’re reshaping our approach to major donor fundraising at the Connection, creating space for a new Philanthropy Lead to focus on forging new connections, building meaningful relationships and securing transformational income.

You’ll take the lead on our highest value and highest potential major donor relationships, while driving forwards two exciting strategic projects including our flagship Make It Home campaign board.

You’ll be part of a lean, ambitious and supportive philanthropy team alongside our Trusts Manager and Philanthropy Officer, with strategic direction and professional development from our Head of Fundraising Development, and close collaboration across the wider Fundraising & Communications team.

We’re open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. You might already work in fundraising, or you might come from a role where you build relationships, manage clients, or bring people together – for example in hospitality, sales, events or partnerships.

This role is perfect for someone who is naturally outgoing, confident and curious. If you love meeting new people, spotting opportunities to connect and telling compelling stories, this is a role where you can make a real difference.

This is a 24-month fixed-term contract. We are offering this role at either 0.6 or 0.8 FTE.

About Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital Charity
 
Here at the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital Charity we fund, facilitate and champion world-class specialists to transform the lives of heart and lung patients. We provide clinicians, academics and researchers across London and beyond with the funding and resources they need to understand more, prevent more and treat more.

Our funding comes from the fundraising efforts of thousands of supporters as well as income generated by our investments in property and equity markets. We currently grant around £6 million each year – but we want to do more.
 
What you'll be doing
 
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Programmes & Funding Officer to play a central role in providing administrative and operational support for the Charity's Special Purpose Funds (SPFs). This position is vital to ensure that all activity is recorded accurately, that systems run smoothly and stakeholders receive an exceptional level of support.
 
You will contribute to the development and delivery of a bespoke fundholder service, enabling fundholders to maximise the impact of their SPFs in advancing care for heart and lung patients.

The Role

We're recruiting 2 x Individual Giving Officer roles to join the team.

As an Individual Giving Officer, you will support the Senior Individual Giving Officer in generating and delivering inspiring and motivating marketing and stewardship communications - as well as leading on delegated campaigns and projects, to build engagement with supporters and drive long term support for Mind.

You will deliver marketing campaigns from beginning to end - from writing briefs and working with agencies and internal teams on media, creative, data, print, production, and fulfilment, to collating results and using data and insight to optimise activity and deliver a brilliant supporter experience.

You'll be joining a team of friendly and passionate fundraisers, and you'll be supported to develop your skills and personal development plans in a wellbeing focused environment.

The Individual Giving team is a part of the wider Mass Engagement team, and you will play a pivot role in helping the team to reach and exceed their target of raising over £23 million, so that Mind can fight for timely access to great quality care for all.

About you

Chief Executive Officer (Part-time, 3 days/week)

The role is primarily based at the fundraising office at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, with the requirement to work at Birmingham Women’s Hospital, sometimes from home and some travel for meetings/events.

Our team recruits and builds meaningful relationships with supporters who choose to leave a gift in their Will to Mind or donate in memory of a loved one. We create thoughtful, insight-led campaigns and stewardship that grow long-term support, deliver excellent supporter experiences and help secure sustainable income for Mind. The Legacy & In Memory team is part of a wider Mass Engagement team. In this financial year, Mass Engagement is responsible for raising more than £23 million so that Mind can fight for timely access to great quality mental health care for all.
