Proud2Be is a grassroots, user-led LGBTQ+ charity based in South Devon, working to ensure that people can thrive, be safe, and live freely as themselves. We are looking for two Adult Community Workers to join our team.

This is a deeply relational, hands-on role working alongside LGBTQ+ adults to build community, connection and belonging. You will assist in the facilitatation of inclusive groups and events, provide one-to-one support, and create spaces where people feel safe to be themselves and explore their identities, experiences and aspirations.

You’ll work directly with individuals and groups to support their personal, social and emotional wellbeing, while also ensuring that the voices of those we work with shape and influence the services we provide. Whether you’re running a group, supporting someone one-to-one, or helping deliver a community event, your role will centre on empowerment, inclusion and care.

You will collaborate closely with a small, passionate team to respond to community needs, develop meaningful programmes, and represent Proud2Be within the local community, including at events such as Pride.

As part of this role, you will receive monthly supervision, a dedicated space for reflection and support, and 4 paid mental health days each year in addition to annual leave. The role

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of our Community Services; ensuring they
deliver against our strategic ambitions. Working with our Head of Home and Hospital and Head of
Information and Advice you will also ensure effective integration between service areas, and that our
people are consistently led and managed.

Background to the role

The post has been vacant since October, since then we’ve undertaken a review of our community team
and our current community delivery – it’s important we get these things right if we are to deliver our
ambitious strategy. By the time you begin in role there will be a clear plan for development which you will
lead on delivering.

experience of change management and of leading operations. You will be resilient and will have values

About the role

The Research and Policy Officer will play an important role in supporting our work to tackle ageism, change attitudes to ageing and address the huge inequalities in our experience of older age.

Working alongside a friendly and skilled multi-disciplinary team, you’ll be supporting a range of projects to build the evidence base for change and to translate that research into action. You’ll also work closely with our external affairs team to stay abreast of the policy environment, provide timely evidence and insights to support our communication and influencing activity, and develop evidence-informed policy recommendations.

About you

You’ll have a keen eye for detail, will be comfortable working across a range of research methods, and will be confident in handling complex data. You'll be highly organised and will be a skilled project manager.

You'll bring a good understanding of the workings of UK government and parliament and will be skilled at understanding and synthesising complex policy issues and documents. You’ll be a clear communicator and will be able to turn complex research into impactful outputs.

Job title: Homelessness Lead Worker (Structured Coach)

Crisis Skylight Oxford is located in the Old Fire Station in the centre of the city. Our team provide a one-to-one specialist housing led service to help people find and secure affordable housing. We offer person centred support and will help people with anything that will support them to end their homelessness, such as mental health and well-being, finances or finding employment.

The Old Fire Station building also accommodates a range of flexible arts spaces which are run by an independent arts company.  

About the role 

In this role you will carry your own caseload and be supporting people who are at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness into both the private rented sector and social housing.

You will be part of a supportive and established team who have knowledge and experience of accessing the PRS sector, completing housing assessments and budgeting plans.

The key to success will be your ability, as part of the Crisis team, to make collaborative, consistent and persistent relationships with each person you support and have good partnership working skills

About you, to be successful in this role you will have;

1. Experience of working within a relevant sector (e.g. homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment) and have good knowledge of relevant housing, homelessness and welfare legislation

2. Excellent understanding of supporting individuals experiencing multiple disadvantages

3. Understand of barriers and opportunities faced by people moving out of homelessness and into housing and securing positive outcome

4. Effective negotiation skills with the ability to mediate between parties who may have different priorities and to broker agreements

The Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH) is the representative body for Directors of Public Health in the UK. It has a rich heritage, with its origins dating back more than 160 years and is a collaborative organisation working in partnership with others to maximise the voice for public health.

We are now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through the next phase of its evolution, maintaining and building upon its established reputation and influence. The role requires a wide-ranging set of skills, capabilities and experience, proven leadership and credibility at the highest level. The successful candidate will have strong negotiating and influencing skills, and the ability to work independently, with board-level accountability, and be expected to develop and sustain extensive national networks across local authorities, the NHS, the voluntary sector and central Government. Possessing an adaptability in working practice together with a self-motivated, proactive approach that performs well under pressure, the successful candidate will be educated to Masters level with ongoing study in public health. In addition, they should have senior management training or equivalent experience and a clear record of continuing professional development. Experience should include at least five years in the public health environment, including in policy development, plus a minimum of three years in operational, financial and resource management.

Accountable to our Board of Trustees and the wider membership, the new CEO will develop the strategic direction of the Association and lead the organisation to deliver a rolling medium-term Strategic Business Plan, balanced budgets and effective governance in compliance with company and charity law. An ability to prioritise planned and reactive work programmes to meet the needs of our membership is required, alongside the sourcing and delivery of timely bids for external funding together with the management of staff and resources to ensure value for money and staff wellbeing.

Description 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Fundraising to lead and further develop our fundraising activity at a pivotal time for the Cathedral. This is a strategic and hands on role, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Management Team to secure the resources needed to sustain and grow the Cathedral’s mission, ministry and buildings. 

You will take the lead on generating fundraising income, primarily through trusts and foundations, while also developing appeals, legacy giving, regular giving and new fundraising income streams. You will build on the strong foundations already in place, bringing creativity, rigour and collaboration to everything you do. 

The role 

As Head of Fundraising, you will: 

• Lead relationships with trusts and foundations, identifying opportunities, writing compelling applications and managing reporting and compliance 

• Drive major fundraising bids to support the Cathedral’s Estates Masterplan and strategic priorities 

• Develop and deliver fundraising appeals and pilot new initiatives to diversify income 

• Grow legacy and regular giving, building a sustainable pipeline of long-term supporters 

• Lead supporter care, engagement and fundraising events 

• Oversee fundraising communications and profile raising activity
