Providence Row has supported people facing homelessness in East London since 1860. Our Day Centre is often the first place people come when they need help. It is a space where people can eat, shower, speak to staff, and be welcomed with dignity.
As a Day Centre Assessment & Reconnection Worker, you will play a key role at that first point of contact. You will ensure people are welcomed calmly, understood quickly, and supported to access the right pathway. This is a role focused on assessment, decision-making, and connection rather than ongoing casework.
You will also support geographical reconnection where appropriate, including accompanying clients to local authorities across London, ensuring plans are realistic, safe, and grounded in dignity.
The ideal candidate
- Experience working with people affected by homelessness or multiple disadvantage.

What you'll be doing
- Provide a calm and respectful welcome – create a steady, inclusive environment where people feel seen and understood from the moment they arrive.
- Carry out triage and assessment – hold light-touch front-of-house conversations and complete holistic, trauma-informed assessments where needed.
- Connect people to the right support – refer into Advice & Support, health, substance use, safeguarding, and progression pathways.
- Support reconnection across London – plan and carry out safe, informed reconnections, including accompanying clients to local authorities where appropriate.
- Work alongside volunteers and peers – model strong practice and support a consistent culture of dignity and hospitality.
- Record clearly and consistently – ensure all contact, decisions, and pathways are accurately recorded to support continuity and learning.

The Nook, Greenwich is a peer support project aiming to provide a safe and welcoming space for young people living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich (or those who have a GP within the borough) to connect with other young adults who have experienced mental health challenges.
We are recruiting a sessional Young Person's Peer Support Worker to co-lead the development and delivery of The Nook alongside our Peer Support Coordinator and a team of volunteers.
You will work with Peer Support Volunteers to plan and co-facilitate the groups in line with service user needs. You will have experience of group development, psychoeducation, collaborative working across service teams and an excellent understanding of service user engagement particularly with young people. You will be highly organised and be proficient with case management tasks and project management administration and take an active role in creating partnerships.
Groups will be held at the University of Greenwich premises and will run every week until March 2027, with hope of an extension of contract. We particularly want to increase engagement of under-served communities in Greenwich.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Our client is a small, community-focused charity tackling poverty and food insecurity in one of North West London’s most disadvantaged communities. As Interim Advice Manager you will oversee the daily delivery of our client’s busy advice service, overseeing a small team of staff and volunteers, driving quality and compliance, and helping shape future service development. You’ll maintain a high quality of service by ensuring that the advice team and volunteers work to agreed standards and deliver against realistic grant agreements from funders and will also maintain a small caseload of clients. Every year, thousands of people in the UK face court alone. Often through no choice of their own, people must represent themselves at a moment that could have life-changing outcomes. This includes loss of access to children or homelessness. At the same time, people facing court alone may find themselves up against a party with legal representation. They are instantly at a disadvantage and overwhelmed by the enormity of the challenges they are up against. We supported unrepresented litigants in the civil and family courts in England and Wales over 45,000 times last year.
We provide a safe space with volunteers who listen to each client’s individual story. Last year, over 1000 volunteers helped people to get their thoughts in order, problem-solve and decide next steps, source relevant and reliable legal information, explain complex procedures, complete court forms, and clearly present statements.
