The programme is one of the Violence Reduction Unit’s flagship projects across Greater Manchester and is in line with the ambitions of the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Strategy and Public Service Reform programme to involve communities to identify priorities, problem solve and direct investment and interventions accordingly. In Salford, the programme will be delivered within Little Hulton.

We are seeking a Finance and Governance Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead the Trust’s finance, governance, and back-office functions. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective charity governance. Candidate Profile
Essential
- A financial control and reporting background with an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
- Experience of organisational governance, ideally with knowledge of UK General Accounting Practice and Charities regulations.
- Experience of financial and management reporting within a small to medium-sized charitable or not for profit organisation.
- Experience of liaising with accountants to prepare annual accounts and reports required by the Charity Commission.

Purpose of the Role
The Safeguarding Manager plays a key leadership role within the Archdiocese Safeguarding Service, supporting the Head of Safeguarding in the delivery and development of a safe, responsive and professional safeguarding function across the Diocese.
The postholder will provide operational management, administrative support, case supervision and guidance, ensuring safeguarding concerns and allegations are managed effectively, compassionately, and in accordance with statutory guidance, national and Archdiocese safeguarding policies, and procedures.
The Safeguarding Manager will help promote a culture of safeguarding across archdiocesan communities, ensuring that children, young people and adults at risk are protected and supported.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Safeguarding Management
- Support the Head of Safeguarding in the day-to-day management of the archdiocesan safeguarding service.
- Oversee the triaging, recording and supervision of safeguarding concerns, allegations, disclosures and referrals across the Diocese.
- Ensure safeguarding casework is managed consistently, appropriately and within required timescales.
- Set actions and monitor completion.
- Complete case work when required.
- Monitor lessons learnt and complaints to ensure quality assurance and learning.
- Support the recruitment and management of Parish Safeguarding Recruitment (PSR’s)
- Provide advice and guidance to clergy, parish safeguarding representatives, archdiocesan staff and volunteers on safeguarding matters and safer recruitment process.
- Manage invoices and budget requirements.
- Monitor safeguarding practices and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Supervision and Team Leadership
- Record, triage, allocate and oversee safeguarding caseloads within the team.
- Foster a collaborative, reflective and trauma-informed safeguarding culture within the team.
- Assist in recruitment, induction and training of safeguarding volunteers (PSR’s).
- When required, support Head of Safeguarding in supervision and guidance for the safeguarding office.
Case Management and Risk Assessment
- Support complex safeguarding investigations and risk management processes.
- Participate in safeguarding meetings, strategy discussions and case conferences where required.
- Ensure accurate, confidential and timely safeguarding records are maintained.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of safeguarding plans and risk assessments.
- Escalate high-risk or sensitive matters appropriately to the Head of Safeguarding.
Partnership Working
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with statutory agencies, including social care, police, probation and health services.
- Liaise with national Catholic safeguarding bodies and other dioceses where appropriate.
- Support parishes and archdiocesan organisations in implementing safeguarding policies and safer working practices.
Training and Safeguarding Culture
- Support the delivery and promotion of safeguarding training throughout the archdiocese.
- Encourage awareness of safeguarding responsibilities among clergy, volunteers and staff.
- Contribute to safeguarding audits, inspections and policy reviews.
- Support the quarterly safeguarding sub-committee and Trustee meetings.
- Promote best practice and ensure compliance with national safeguarding standards and Church requirements.

- Professional qualification in safeguarding and/or relevant experience in social work, safeguarding, social care, psychology, counselling, police or a related field.

About the Role
Main Responsibilities
- Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.
- Use the Citizens Advice Adviser Net website to find, interpret and communicate the relevant information.
- Research and explore options and implications so that clients can make informed decisions.
- Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning.

Requirements
1. At least 6 months’ experience of providing welfare benefits advice and support in an advice setting, including ben checks, calculations, resolution of welfare benefits issues
2. A good up to date understanding of equality and diversity and its application to the provision of advice.
3. Ability to monitor and maintain own standards.
4. Ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients, whilst maintaining structure and control of meetings.
5. Understanding of the issues affecting society and their implications for clients and service provision.

The successful candidate will have a ‘mobile office’ made up of pc, information systems and promotional materials and despite having a regular geographical location, will be expected to respond attend outreaches across the city if necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Income Generation
• Develop funding strategies for prospective trusts, identifying the strongest organisational and project matches and recommending the most effective approach.
• Write and submit tailored and effective funding applications to meet agreed income targets.
• Monitor application deadlines and ensure timely submission.
• Work with colleagues to gather, interpret and present service data, outcomes and financial information to produce high-quality, evidence-based funding proposals and reports.
• Contribute to the development of larger or more complex funding proposals, working alongside the Trusts and Foundations Manager and colleagues across the organisation.

• Ensure compliance with funder requirements by preparing and delivering high-quality impact reports and other agreed reporting, demonstrating how their contributions have been used.
• Act as the primary point of contact for trusts and foundations within your portfolio, building trusted relationships.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Candidates must fulfil the following essential criteria:

· Experience in trusts and foundations fundraising with the ability to identify funding opportunities and develop successful funding proposals.
· Confident using technology, including CRM systems and AI-assisted tools and spreadsheets, to support research, prospecting and proposal development while maintaining high standards of accuracy and judgement.
· Highly organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.

Part of a team of Outreach and Project Workers pivotal to the delivery of an exciting new project focused on reaching women identified as at risk of homelessness and exploitation. The Luna Project supports women at risk of rough sleeping, homelessness and exploitation. Working across key areas of Enfield and Haringey you will, through a combination of nighttime outreach and daytime service provision, be critical to supporting a coordinated response across multiple agencies already engaged in this work.
You will undertake at least twice weekly nighttime outreach, support additional services and existing outreach provision and develop a daytime offer that meets the needs of women engaged through outreach and identified as at high risk of harm and homelessness.
You will have responsibility for a caseload of women identified through outreach, referral and presentation at ours and other services. You will provide advocacy, casework support and connection and referral into other agencies which can help them address their needs.
