Help ensure no family faces a child's short life alone

At Tŷ Hafan, we believe that when a child's life will be short, no family should have to live it alone.

Every day, families across Wales rely on the care, compassion and support we provide. The generosity of our supporters makes that possible. As we look to the future, we're seeking an exceptional fundraising leader to help us build meaningful relationships with partners, philanthropists and funders that will enable even more children and families to receive the support they need.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and strategic fundraiser to join our Income Generation leadership team as Head of Partnerships & Philanthropy.

About the role:

This is a role for someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships, spotting opportunities and turning vision into sustainable income growth.

You'll lead and inspire our Corporate Fundraising, Grants & Trusts and Major Giving teams, developing and delivering ambitious strategies that maximise long-term income and contribution. Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you'll help secure the funding needed to support vital services today while building strong foundations for the future.

From securing transformational corporate partnerships and major gifts to developing compelling cases for support and strengthening relationships with trusts and foundations, you'll play a key role in helping Tŷ Hafan achieve its strategic ambitions.

As a member of our leadership team, you'll also help shape the wider direction of the charity, championing innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement while inspiring colleagues through visible and authentic leadership.

About you:

We're looking for a proven fundraising leader who combines strategic thinking with the drive and determination to make things happen.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience of leading successful fundraising teams across corporate partnerships, major giving and trusts fundraising.
  • A strong track record of securing high-value income through relationship-led fundraising.
  • Outstanding relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience of developing compelling cases for support and translating impact into funding opportunities.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, using data and insight to drive performance and inform decisions.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience of motivating, developing and empowering teams to succeed.

If you're an inspiring fundraising leader with the vision, ambition and relationship-building expertise to help grow philanthropy and partnerships in Wales and beyond, we'd love to hear from you.

Ty Hafan’s ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own. Sadly, we know that thousands of families in Wales are struggling alone through the fear, exhaustion and uncertainty that comes with caring for a child whose life will be short. We believe that no family should have to live this on their own and we are determined to walk alongside every family through life, death and beyond.

At Tŷ Hafan we are experts at caring for children with life-shortening conditions and our services support families in our hospice, in community settings, local hospitals and in families’ homes. We understand that the needs of each child and their family are unique and we know that caring for a child with a life-shortening condition is often extremely demanding. Our aim is to make sure that no one doing this is alone. Our colleagues, volunteers and supporters are crucial in the delivery of our ambition – we know that everyone plays a huge part in making sure that no family faces their child’s short life alone.

Our Vision: A Wales where every child with a life-shortening condition lives a fulfilling life, supported with the compassion and specialist care they and their family need.

Our Purpose: No family should have to face the unimaginable loss of their child alone. With children and families at the heart of all we do, we provide free care and support in our hospice and in the community, offering a lifeline throughout the child’s short life, at end of life, through bereavement and beyond.

Our Values: At Tŷ Hafan we make a difference by living our values: Demonstrating Compassion, Providing Excellent Service, Working Together and Taking Ownership.
