About you
You will provide high-quality education, care, and family support, ensuring children experience a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where they can thrive. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will bring strong leadership, early years knowledge, and a commitment to creating enabling spaces that support children’s learning, development, wellbeing, and family engagement.
You will be confident in meeting all legal, statutory, and setting requirements, with a strong understanding of your professional contribution to maintaining high standards across Rosebuds Preschool, and the wider family and play services delivered by LCC at the Max Roach Centre.
Role Title: Early Year Professional (added area of responsibility) / Senior Practioner
Hours: 35 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday (Hours will include some afterschool wraparound, occasional evenings and weekends).

You will have experience of:

Planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting children’s individual development, curiosity, and wellbeing.

Working collaboratively as part of an early years professional team to maintain and continuously improve the quality of practice, provision, and outcomes for children.

Operating within a Key Person system, building secure, nurturing relationships with a designated group of children and supporting their individual needs, development, and family relationships.
Main duties include:

Contribute to the responsibility for providing a high quality of education and learning, ensuring that staff are properly deployed, and to offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children attending the setting.

Contribute to the responsibility towards drawing up long-term, medium-term and sessional curriculum plans which take into account the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and to monitor the effectiveness of the setting’s curriculum; this may include working with external professionals.

Advocate for early years curriculum based on outdoor learning through play.

Contribute to the responsibility of drawing up and implementing the daily programme of activities and events.

Comply with current Ofsted inspection requirements for achieving a ‘Good’ or above rating.

Contribute and support the key person system, ensuring parents/carers are aware of their child’s key worker and that key workers regularly and effectively engage with their key children’s parent/carer.

Contribute to the responsibility for the implementation of systems for observation and record keeping so that children’s progress and achievements are effectively and regularly assessed and to monitor the effectiveness of assessment procedures.

Understand and appreciate the importance of monitoring and evaluation in a preschool based setting.

To carry out visits and inductions for new children and to ensure a smooth settlement.

About the role
We are looking for a Senior Strategic Communications Manager to lead strategic communications activity, increasing the reach, influence and impact of the Health Foundation’s work.
You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to develop clear, evidence-informed communications strategies and plans for some of our most important programmes and priorities. Bringing together media relations, digital communications, stakeholder engagement, events and internal communications, you will ensure our work reaches the right audiences and influence debate and action on health and care.

Role Summary
We're looking for a Press and Media Manager to help us tell the story of our work and grow our profile across local, regional, and national media. This is a press-led role, with the majority of time focused on proactive and reactive media work, alongside supporting wider marketing activity where it strengthens campaigns and storytelling.
You'll own and drive our day-to-day media presence, ensuring communications activity directly supports our core goal: increasing the number and diversity of employers offering work experience across the UK.
You'll take the lead on media work - pitching stories, building journalist relationships, drafting press releases, and developing thought leadership content including blogs, op-eds, and features. For major set-piece moments (around six per year), you'll work alongside an external PR agency to help secure national coverage. You’ll also work closely with, CEO Nick Brook, and will have the opportunity to work alongside founder Robert Peston and Chair Andrew Law at key moments.
An early and significant focus will be the launch of our inaugural State of Work Experience report in autumn 2026, a major annual publication designed to shape the national conversation on work experience, skills and opportunity.
This isn't about publicity for its own sake. Your work will be measured by how effectively it contributes to employer and partnership growth, amplifies the voices of young people we support, and positions Futures for All as a leader in the work experience and social mobility space.

Key Duties / Responsibilities
Press and Media
- Lead day-to-day media activity: identifying stories, writing press releases, pitching to journalists, and responding to media enquiries
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and bloggers across local, regional, trade, and national outlets
- Identify newsworthy angles and develop stories aligned to organisational priorities
- Create compelling press and thought leadership content, including blog posts, op-eds, case studies, and feature articles
- Monitor media coverage and maintain a media mentions log; report on reach and impact
- Coordinate with our contracted PR agency on major campaigns and set-piece moments
- Brief spokespeople and prepare key messages for interviews
- Provide occasional out-of-hours support for press activity where required
- Occasional travel across the UK for key events
Marketing
- Work closely with colleagues to align press activity with marketing campaigns aimed at growing employer sign-ups and regional partnerships
- Support and contribute to the creation of marketing materials, email campaigns, and social media content where it aligns with press and campaign activity
- Contribute to the development of an integrated communications calendar
General
- Maintain and grow our media contacts database
- Stay informed on education, employment, and social mobility trends
- Champion our brand voice and ensure consistency across all external communications
- Ensure safeguarding best practice is embedded across communications activity

Skills / Experience / Knowledge:
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in a press, PR, or communications role — in-house, agency, or journalism· Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging copy for different audiences and formats· Good understanding of the UK media landscape· Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines· Genuine interest in social mobility, education, or youth employment

The role

The postholder will support FPM’s Examinations and Standards Manager and Digital Training Manager in delivering a high quality customer experience.

The ideal candidate will bring great energy, diligence and attention to detail, and will be keen to make a positive contribution in all aspects of the role. Specific tasks include: acting as the first line of response for queries; supporting the registration of examination and training candidates; handling meetings administration, including sending out Teams or Zoom links and meeting materials; and assisting with CRM testing and setup. You'll be able to work effectively with technical specialists, understanding the opportunities and constraints involved in developing, integrating and supporting systems, while helping non-technical colleagues make informed judgements.
Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills are essential. You'll be able to bring together different perspectives, translating complex information into clear and accessible language, and helping teams navigate challenges where there may not be an obvious solution. Experience leading or coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, including external suppliers and partners, will help you succeed in this role.
We're keen to hear from people who enjoy improving services, identifying opportunities and turning ideas into practical action. Experience contributing to resource planning, prioritisation and delivery reporting would be beneficial, alongside familiarity with modern digital delivery environments and release processes. How and where we work
Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs. Due to the nature of this role, we would expect the postholder to be in the office three times per week.
Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.
