The Role
We are looking for a Partnerships Development Manager to develop our approach to, and implement a comprehensive partnership development plan, aligning with our longer term strategic aims. You’ll collaborate across the organisation to understand business aims and objectives, and with one eye on the external market you’ll help to find solutions through seeking new opportunities and in turn developing key new relationships with organisations. You will be skilled in research and prospecting for new business development opportunities, performing the due diligence required and in developing mutually beneficial relationships with key partners which will enable us to deliver for our audiences and achieve our long-term plans. .

The Giving Directorate has four teams: Innovation & Insight (leading on innovations, the parish share project, data analysis and marketing); Parish Giving Scheme (giving mechanisms and technology); NZC Fundraising (including policy, philanthropy and gifts in wills) and Learning & Development (delivering training, mentoring, and equipping clergy and diocesan giving advisors, national and regional conferences, and developing online learning resources for parishes).
You will sit within the Net Zero Carbon Fundraising team which leads the strategy to coordinate and support the plans being developed by our dioceses, churches, cathedrals, schools, and departments to secure the significant additional funding needed to decarbonise the Church of England.
What you'll be doing
Legacies have historically played a transformative role for the Church of England - sustaining parish ministry, helping deliver the 30,000+ community projects run by parishes every year, conserving historic buildings and enabling important work for the future, including Net Zero Carbon projects. There is significant untapped potential for legacy giving to make an even bigger difference to our work, but awareness is uneven, and local church leaders often lack the training and resources to talk confidently about gifts in wills.
As the Gifts in Wills Manager, you will lead an ambitious new legacy programme to significantly expand the support and resources available for all parts of the Church of England to effectively encourage legacy giving. This will include creating new legacy giving resources that can be used by parishes, cathedrals and Dioceses as well as new training for local parish volunteers, clergy and senior leaders.
Gifts in wills have the potential for significantly enhancing the work of the church in caring for God's creation, being the culmination of a person's lifetime of commitment and care for the church and God's creation. The role will include specifically looking to develop NZC cases for support as a way to encourage gifts in wills, through linking the ongoing and perpetual care of God's creation with the long term impact of gifts in wills.
Through your work you will create a culture shift where legacy giving is demystified to become a natural part of Christian discipleship. The increased number and generosity of legacy gifts pledged and received will make a long-lasting impact on the financial ability of parishes, cathedrals, and dioceses to fund their ministry and social impact in the communities they serve.

To manage and oversee the operation of the specialist AvMA clinical negligence panel to include ensuring the qualifying requirements for panel applicants are relevant and up to date and reflect any important medical and legal developments.

To deliver on administrative requirements such as quarterly reports for trustees, working with AvMA’s Service Delivery Quality and Outreach Committee (SDQOC) as required to update on continued improvement of AvMA Panel Accreditation Scheme.

From time to time speaking publicly about requirements for AvMA panel membership, common pitfalls and how to overcome them as well as other matters relating to panel.

2. Skills and Experience
Administration of the AvMA Panel
The bulk of the administration and management tasks do not require specialist skills; however, assistance is provided by the PA to the CEO when required.
AvMA has a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) driven computer system throughout the organisation, the introduction has been phased and the applicant should be confident enough with sufficient IT skills to onboard the new system. The CRM works with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a data driven software solution which is intended to manage, track and store information. AvMA considers IT to be an ongoing commitment and the new panel accreditation manager should be willing to consider ways in which AvMA can maximise the impact of the CRM to improve services and data collection on key issues identified from panel related activities.
Tasks such as updating and preparing new panel application documents and report forms will require medical and legal input, the panel application interview process will involve discussions about topical medico legal issues and for this reason the post would suit someone who has a legal background, ideally qualified as a solicitor or barrister, preferably with clinical negligence accreditation. A a medical background would be helpful.
Assessment of new applications, interviews and dealing with correspondence
The Panel Accreditation Manager is primarily responsible for the assessment of new panel accreditation applications.
The role of Panel Accreditation Manager would suit someone who has practised as a claimant clinical negligence lawyer who is looking to draw on their expertise and experience in a new role.The successful applicant should be confident in assessing former peers and colleagues in a fair and impartial way.
The nature of this work is such that the Panel Accreditation Manager can come into possession of sensitive information, discretion and respecting confidentiality are key qualities for this role.
Reaccreditations
Reaccreditation assessments are done internally by the Panel Accreditation Manager, occasionally assistance can be provided by members of the internal panel assessment team.
AvMA aims to make reaccreditations more straightforward for practitioners and the new appointee will be expected to liaise with the profession to understand where they consider the biggest hurdles to reaccreditation lie and to consider how these can be overcome without compromising standards.
AvMA receives a minimum of 15 applications for reaccreditation per annum, however numbers are usually considerably higher, up to 30 per annum.It is thought that the reaccreditation process could be designed to be more streamlined and user friendly for both the applicant and in house.
Other AvMA Panel assessments
In addition to assessing AvMA panel applications and reaccreditations the Panel Accreditation Manager will need to assess applications from accredited panel members who have changed firms.
Change of firm applications tend to be straightforward if the applicant has been on the panel for some time and is going to a firm where there is another AvMA panel member but the process is more in depth for those going to a firm which does not have another AvMA panel member. The Panel Application Manager needs to be confident that the new firm can meet the minimum standards and supervision requirements required of a first time panel application.
There are about 5 applications for changes of firm rising to a maximum of 10 per annum.
Interim Reviews
From time to time first time applicants may demonstrate that they largely meet the core criteria for AvMA Panel membership but there may be some areas that require improvement.In those cases, AvMA can award the applicant AvMA panel status subject to a review sometime later.The Panel Accreditation Manager is responsible for following up that review and examining progress made.The review is an opportunity to identify if the applicant has succeeded in strengthening the areas of weakness identified.If they have not, they risk losing their AvMA panel status entirely.
There are about 3 interim reviews per annum, currently not exceeding 6.

About the role
Sitting within the Community & Events Team, and more broadly the Income & Engagement Department, the Community Fundraising Officer plays a vital role in supporting the long-term growth, development, and delivery of Sands’ community fundraising activities.
This is a new role at Sands, and it is an exciting time to join our growing team. This role will support acquisition activity, national campaign delivery and provide outstanding stewardship to fundraisers, community group and Sands groups, maximising their fundraising efforts and strengthening their relationship to Sands. You will also support the development of Sands regional fundraising approach, providing operational and administrative support to the Community Fundraising Manager.
The role is key to enabling the scaling of national community campaigns, enhancing supporter led fundraising activity, delivering high quality supporter stewardship, and supporting the future development of Sands’ emerging regional fundraising model.
Main Responsibilities
Community Fundraising Delivery & Growth
- Working with the Community Fundraising Manager, develop and deliver a community fundraising strategy for both new and existing activities.
- Support and assist with the delivery of Sands' community fundraising portfolio, ensuring activities are monitored and excellent supporter experience is given so to maximise impact and growth of each product.
- Provide operational and administrative support across the community fundraising pipeline, including, building web pages and ad campaigns, managing enquiries, recording activity on the database, drafting communication and creating e comms.
- Support the implementation of Sands’ regional fundraising model over the next strategy period, working with internal teams to establish ways of working, build best practice and, to identify opportunities for local engagement and increased income.
Supporter Stewardship & Relationship Management
- Deliver high quality, personalised stewardship for supporter led community fundraisers, community groups, schools, clubs and societies, ensuring supporters feel valued, inspired and supported throughout their fundraising efforts.
- Maintain regular communication with supporters via email, phone, and social platforms, ensuring prompt responses, clear guidance and automating where appropriate to improve efficiency.
- Provide proactive stewardship to high potential fundraisers and groups, helping them reach and exceed their targets.
- Work in collaboration with the Supporter Care Team to ensure seamless supporter journeys and continuity of communication.
- Work in collaboration with the Volunteering Team to support Sands Volunteer Groups with their local fundraising activities.
- Review and implement a tiered thanking model, ensuring fundraisers of all levels are thanked appropriately and in a timely manner.
Marketing & Engagement
- Support the Community Fundraising Manager with the delivery of marketing activities for supporter led community fundraising.
- Assist with the development of marketing materials and ads for supporter led community fundraising, seasonal campaigns, and national challenges.
- Work with the Engagement Team to update and maintain the “Fundraise for Us” section of Sands’ website, ensuring content is inspiring, accurate and up to date.
- Gather case studies, stories and impact examples to support promotional activity and supporter motivation.
- Capture and create content for email and social media.
- Work with external agencies and provide admin support to maximise impact and capture learnings.
Administration, Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate supporter records in the CRM, ensuring all relevant information is captured and updated in a timely manner.
- Support data insight and reporting processes, enabling effective measurement and optimisation of community fundraising activity.
- Prepare basic reports, summaries, supporter lists and stewardship logs.
- Manage logistical tasks relating to fundraising packs, stewardship materials and fundraising products.
- Ensure all activity complies with fundraising regulation, governance standards and Sands’ policies.
Cross Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Community Fundraising Manager, Supporter Care Officers, Engagement Team, Events Team and Community & Volunteering Team to ensure joined up supporter experience across Sands.
- Support the wider fundraising programme during peak activity periods—including Baby Loss Awareness Week, Say their Name Day, Winter campaigns, and regional events—by assisting with supporter enquiries, content collation and campaign delivery.
- Attend Sands events, supporter activities and external meetings where required, occasionally outside of normal working hours.
General Responsibilities
- Be an active member of the Community & Events Team and Income & Engagement Department, collaborating with colleagues to optimise performance across all fundraising areas.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to play a central role in the delivery of Surviving Economic Abuse’s new digital engagement strategy by producing high-quality, impactful communications and compelling campaigns to extend our reach and to engage, inform and mobilise our audiences.

You’ll be a confident digital campaigner who knows how to make an impact across multiple platforms, especially Instagram, TikTok and other video first channels. You’ll have a strong understanding of trends, formats and algorithms, and know how to use them to create scroll stopping content that motivates people to take action.

Role Purpose
The Partnerships Development Lead will be responsible for proactively generating significant income from five and six figure corporate partnerships.

Events and Community Fundraising is an established income stream at Breast Cancer UK but we know there is potential to grow, so we’re investing in proactively developing the area.
