Transparency International (UK) are looking for a Research and Investigations Officer.
You will be responsible for producing new knowledge, insights and high-quality written material, at pace, to support our strategic advocacy objectives.
You will keep abreast of developments in their field, and build expertise to inform solutions for us to advocate to key stakeholders, particularly those in parliaments and governments across the UK.
The Research and Investigations Officer will report to the Head of Research and Investigations and perform this within the UK Programme, focusing on corruption in the UK.
What will I be doing?
building and maintaining a technical knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures to advise and support advocacy colleagues in their engagement with key external stakeholders
translating findings and policy positions into high-impact outputs to advance TI-UK’s advocacy objectives, including reports, briefings, blogs, and draft lines for media comment
contributing to the development of new and impactful solutions to the problems we identify through our research and investigations
horizon scanning for significant developments in strategic areas of interest for TI-UK
supporting the delivery of cutting-edge research and OSINT investigations, both within TI-UK and in partnership with our allies in media and civil society
developing, maintaining, improving and promoting tools to support TI-UK’s strategic objectives, including the Open Access lobbying transparency platform
Who we are looking for?
a first degree in in social science, a similar discipline, or equivalent experience
up to date with trends, developments, and best practice in UK politics
strong written communication and verbal presentation skills with ability to deliver high quality briefings, reports and presentations with minimal supervision
experience in interpreting laws, policies and regulations and providing specialist advice and guidance to others (desirable)

About the role:
This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and see the direct impact of your work on people experiencing homelessness across London. As our first Philanthropy and Major Gifts Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Fundraising to bring our new strategy to life, shaping how we engage major donors and grow a powerful community of supporters who are motivated to stand alongside Single Homeless Project (SHP) and our clients. Main duties
Onboarding of new cohorts of students for our Pathways Online and Access Apprenticeships Programmes
Delivering both online and in-person events for students across the programmes. Duties include presenting activities, organising logistics, providing technical support, and encouraging student engagement
Be the main point of contact for students on the programme. Including leading on student comms (newsletter and info packs), responding to student enquiries and building relationships with beneficiaries to ensure that we are provide tailored and impactful support.
Using student data to monitor engagement and develop strategies to enhance engagement and participation
Maintaining and updating the Trust's CRM system (Salesforce) to ensure accurate beneficiary details and activity records.
Arranging and booking of student travel for in person events and work experience placements
Use our online platform (Sutton Trust Online) to drive student engagement through creating and updating content
Liaising with external stakeholders such as universities and employers to support logistical and administrative elements of programme delivery
Supporting on the creation of reports for funders and programme partners based on student engagement and feedback data
Providing administrative support to the Sutton Trust team as required across our suite of employability programmes
Responding to student facing inboxes and the Sutton Trust Helpdesk and phoneline to support with enquiries across the programmes team

Person Specification

We are seeking a highly efficient, collaborative professional with a keen eye for detail to work closely with the CEO in a supporting role. This role will be critical to the functioning and effective governance of the organisation, providing a broad range of support as required. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we are looking for talented people who can help us make the next forty count for even more. As part of this, we are recruiting a Senior Digital Officer to maximise NEF’s impact by embedding a digital-first approach. They will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality and engaging digital communications that influences public opinion and policymaking. The role sits in NEF’s communications team, which works to ensure that our stories and activities are communicated effectively to a wide variety of audiences to help shift the dial.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to lead on developing and driving a new digital strategy for NEF. It will offer the chance to push the boundaries of traditional channels to reach new audiences, improve engagement with NEF’s growing network of supporters, and expand our visibility and impact.
You will need proven experience of developing and leading impactful digital communications strategies or campaigns. You will be a strong writer with exceptional digital skills and a flair for communicating creatively. You’ll need to work well under pressure, juggling multiple deadlines and the competing demands of a busy communications team. You’ll have experience of two or more of the following: campaign communications[HP1] , social media, design, or video/audio production, and be keen to expand your skills further.
Previous think tank experience is not required and we welcome applicants from a range of sectors.

The team sits within the operations directorate and is split into Safeguarding and Caller Support and Quality and Service Improvement. What You’ll Do
You will be providing expert advice, guidance and support to specialist and senior volunteers and staff, in the management and application of a range of Samaritans quality assurance policies and procedures.
You will also be supporting caller feedback processes as well as new project developments.
