The structure of the team is set up to support the ongoing progression and growth of its members along the key verticals of Press, Website, Design and Outbound. We are looking for someone to support our Outbound communications (video production and development, supporter engagement, and design), as well as offering support across the verticals. The incoming Communications Officer should feel confident with engaging and supporting people to appear on video.
The successful applicant will have experience of these functions and will need to be a quick learner. They will have a can-do attitude with solid technical know-how and be reliable. Attention to detail is critical, alongside flexibility to evolving demands.
A confident communicator, they will be a self-starter with excellent prioritisation and time management and enjoy working in a highly collaborative setting. They will have the opportunity to deliver communications plans and strategies in line with our overall organisational aim of protecting the right to pursue a nomadic way of life.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant will need to be based in our Brighton office, and we’re able to accommodate a degree of flexible working subject to successful completion of a three-month probation period.
Key responsibilities and duties
The role will be diverse and varied. No two days nor two emails are the same! Key responsibilities will include:
· Engaging audiences through compelling content across communications channels, including our website, video, social media.
· Researching, writing and supplying communications materials in response to briefs from the department Head.
· Working with project Leads to promote outcomes, findings and impact across our various channels.
· Supporting Gypsy, Roma or Traveller people to cut through digital noise, via public-focused opportunities such as guest blogs or video.
· Working to maximise the impact of our communications strategies, and operational plans.
· Maintaining and updating digital content from evergreen pages to news items, as and when appropriate.
· Developing and producing short-form video content, along with other Adobe-based outputs.
· Other such duties as are reasonably appropriate to the job.

Young Carers Support Coordinator (Families Lead)
Winchester, Hampshire (Hybrid)

Our client is a small independent charity who supports young people who take on caring responsibilities for an unwell or disabled family member between the ages of 8 - 25. They provide programmes of support to empower Young Carers to look after their physical and emotional wellbeing and have experiences they would otherwise miss out on.
They believe that Young Carers are children first, and should be free to develop emotionally, and take full advantages of opportunities for educational achievement and life success.
As a Young Carers Support Coordinator (Families Lead), you will work as part of a small dynamic team to deliver their support programmes for Young Carers. This will include supporting their exploration programme and activities programme and young adult carers programme.
You will also coordinate the organisations referral and assessment process form start to finish. This will include database entry, contacting referrers, allocating cases and booking and carrying out assessments. You will also provide on-going support to families via phone, referrals, signposting and attending relevant multi-agency meetings.
They run an Exploration Programme which focuses on wellbeing – this currently runs on Wednesday afternoon/evenings during term time.
They run an Activities Programme which focuses on new experiences and respite – these are daytimes during school holidays. Usually, two or three per school holiday week.
This is a great opportunity to work for a well-respected charity. The Head of Fundraising will lead all fundraising activities, overseeing the full spectrum of income generation to support our mission of empowering young people through football and education. There is autonomy over the direction of travel with a lot of support from the CEO on ideas and future programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, positive and creative communicator to help our small team support and empower people living with a genetic bleeding disorder.
It might sound obvious, but we need someone who loves communicating - whether that’s chatting to supporters at events, writing engaging content or creating eye-catching social media posts.You’ll immerse yourself in the wide range of work our small charity does and help us maximise its impact.
Your main focus will be on shaping and improving content and engagement on our social media channels, with support from our Digital Marketing and Content Manager, but this is a varied role with lots of opportunities to get involved in a wide range of projects. About the role

One25 is a Bristol charity for women moving from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community. It is a highly respected charity working with some of the most marginalised women in Bristol.
One25 services have been developed to meet women at their point of need, with love and practical support. We do this through our night and early morning outreach service which is a lifeline for nearly 200 women on Bristol’s streets. Our Health Hub provides support for women to access health services and healthcare professionals. Our caseworkers offer intensive one-to-one care in any area of need: from support in court to finding somewhere safe to live.
We are recruiting a Van Outreach Worker to lead One25’s van outreach shifts on alternate weekends. The role provides support and sign-posting to women who are street-sex working, leads and supports a small team of volunteers on each shift, provides briefings and debriefs before and after shifts, and makes decisions relating to safeguarding and safety on the van. On alternate weekends, the Weekend Van Outreach Worker provides on-call support to those on shift. There is also one weekly daytime shift in the office to connect with the wider team.
We are looking for someone who is able to bring compassion and a non-judgemental approach to their engagement with the women. You should have great interpersonal skills which help you to support the volunteers who keep One25’s services running. You should be able to think on your feet and, when necessary, be decisive. This is a unique role and every night can be different. Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports around 3,600 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 170 local and national businesses. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
Our Volunteer Engagement Department, which the Volunteer Support Officer role will be part of, ensures that volunteers have everything that they need to make a success of their reading sessions with pupils.

We are looking for an exceptional leader to lead on delivery of our community based support within the London Borough of Islington. The GoF programme will offer a new additional person-centred companionship service where volunteers and older people are matched to reduce loneliness and isolation together. The service is person centred and dependent on the goals of the individual which could include, going for a walk, going shopping, attending activities or helping an older person to build or regain confidence in going out and about and developing more social connections.

The welfare rights adviser will report to the welfare rights supervisor.
The welfare rights adviser will be supporting people affected by long term health issues with financial challenges, supporting with benefit and housing advice, and referring on for further support where appropriate.
Experience as a welfare rights adviser, including managing your own casework, is essential when applying for this role.
Principal accountabilities / responsibilities: -
Welfare rights advice and casework
· To provide welfare rights advice and casework for people affected by long-term health conditions, including inpatients, outpatients, and carers.
· To work at least two days per week on site, mainly based at the Royal Free Hospital or the Royal Free Charity office
· To provide advice and support primarily on welfare benefits and housing matters (that do not require a solicitor).
· To check whether clients are in receipt of all the benefits they are entitled to and help them claim relevant benefits.
· To help clients understand benefit decisions and challenge them (where appropriate) by way of mandatory reconsiderations and appeals.
· To help clients ensure they keep to their responsibilities in respect of their benefit claims, for example by notifying any relevant changes of circumstances.
· To refer or signpost clients to other agencies or departments as appropriate, e.g., housing solicitors; community care cases involving social services and NHS duties, FCA-regulated debt and immigration services.
· To signpost or refer to other services that might be valuable to a client such as condition specific charities, mental health support, or offerings in the local community that would improve their health and wellbeing.
