The Operations and People Manager will help Sustain function effectively as an organisation and be a great place to work. This is a senior, trusted role working closely with the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Senior Management Team (SMT), line managers and Trustees to strengthen our people, operational and governance systems.
The post-holder will lead practical improvements in HR, people processes, line management standards, staff development, onboarding, offboarding, organisational culture and compliance. They will combine sound judgement, strong systems thinking and a people-centred approach, helping Sustain keep processes clear, proportionate and well-managed, while supporting colleagues to focus on effective delivery.
The mission of the Sustain alliance is to catalyse systemic change in the UK’s food and farming system – securing a healthy, fair, and sustainable future for all people, nature and a stable climate. Working in collaboration with our alliance members and others, we run a range of advocacy work, projects and campaigns to achieve permanent changes in policy and practice; and to engage more people, organisations and communities in being food system change-makers.
As with all senior roles at Sustain, the person appointed to this role will work mainly at the Sustain office in London during their probationary period, and thereafter at least half of working hours at our office, whilst benefiting from the flexibility offered to all colleagues. Organisational operations and systems
•Lead on managing and developing the charity’s operational activities.

Line management standards, learning and staff development
•Lead the development and implementation of clear, practical standards for line management at Sustain, working with SLT, SMT, the Line Managers Forum and external advisers where appropriate.
•Develop and oversee implementation of key processes such as annual appraisals, annual planning and objective-setting, and a suitable performance management process.
•Help ensure objective-setting, personal development and progression conversations are undertaken routinely, and that these and performance management are handled consistently, fairly and in line with Sustain’s values and legal responsibilities.
•Support line managers to run effective 1-to-1s, probation reviews, appraisals, workload conversations, development conversations, and difficult conversations where needed.

The Domestic Abuse Team Service Manager will act as a lead professional for Talk, Listen, Change in Manchester and Greater Manchester. We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised Charity Support Officer to work alongside our in-house team on a variety of third sector functions
You will need to have excellent communications skills, be persuasive, articulate and results driven, with top class administration and organisational abilities. Competent in Microsoft Office packages and various social media platforms.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES
BENEFICIARIES:
· Be the first point of reference for beneficiary enquires and queries regarding the charity application process.
· Support the beneficiary manager in all aspects of the application process for the charity, to ensure a consistent high level of service delivery and administration.
· Ensure accurately maintained beneficiary records in accordance with GDPR and data protection guidelines.
FUNDRAISING:
· Provide administrative support to the events and fundraising manager as required
· Take ownership of the charity supporter / donor thank you process, in conjunction with the events and fundraising manager.
· Support on the wider charity events, such as the Bright Star Ball, Boparan Golf and Football Tournament.
SOCIAL MEDIA / WEBSITE UPDATES:
· In conjunction with the Charity Director, develop a social media / website calendar. Ensuring consistent year-round messaging for the charity supporters.
ADMINISTRATION:
· Oversee the charity office space, ensuring everything is kept in a tidy and good order for the wider team.
OTHER DUTIES:
· Undertake other reasonably requested duties under the direction of the Charity Director.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES REQUIRED:
· Previous charity experience desirable.
· Ability to work independently but also as part of a highly motivated team.
· Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
· Strong IT and administrative skills.
· Organised and proactive approach.
· Flexible and able to travel throughout the UK.

What you’ll bring to the role

Working arrangements
This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Midlands office, (ST20 0JW) with requirement to work in the office at least 3 days per week.
Due to the nature of events at the CLA, from time to time there is requirement to attend meetings elsewhere in the country, primarily in the Midlands, outside of office hours and occasionally including an overnight stay.All travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed and Time Off In Lieu will be granted for abnormal hours.

Quartet Community Foundation is looking for an experienced, collaborative and forward-thinking Head of Programmes to lead our grant-making and programmes work across Bristol, Bath & North-East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
This is an exciting time to join Quartet. We recently launched our new three-year strategy 2026-9, containing ambitious plans to increase our impact through grant giving, strengthen our understanding of local communities and raise the profile of place-based giving. The strategy outlines how we aim to diversify and strengthen our donor base, driving increasing philanthropic giving, so that we can distribute £6.5 million in grants annually by 2029. As Head of Programmes, you will play a key role in turning that ambition into action.
You will lead and develop our grant-making programmes, ensuring they are informed by community need, insight and evidence and reflect best practice in equitable and accessible funding. You will work closely with local communities, voluntary and community organisations, funders and partners to understand emerging needs and identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
