Assistant Building Safety Manager

We are seeking an Assistant Building Safety Manager to support compliance and resident safety across a portfolio of residential buildings.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing building safety team and support the delivery of key safety and compliance activities across a residential portfolio.

Working closely with Building Safety Managers and senior leaders, you will play an important role in ensuring buildings are safe, compliant and aligned with current legislation, including the Building Safety Act.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting Building Safety Managers with the management of building safety compliance
• Assisting with site inspections to ensure adherence to current safety regulations
• Gathering building information and supporting the preparation of Building Safety Case Reports
• Helping to ensure fire safety and wider building safety activities are tracked and recorded through the Golden Thread
• Reviewing maintenance and testing activities and identifying potential risks
• Supporting the procurement and management of consultants and specialist service providers
• Working collaboratively with residents, internal teams and external stakeholders to promote building safety
• Contributing to meetings and discussions relating to whole building safety

About you

You will be a proactive and collaborative individual with a keen interest in building safety and compliance.

You will have:

• Experience or exposure to building safety, compliance, property or related environments
• Knowledge of fire safety and building safety principles
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
• Good IT skills and experience using multiple systems to manage data and records
• A relevant Building Safety qualification or willingness to work towards one

About the role

The British Museum is seeking an exceptional Patrons Coordinator to play a central role in delivering a high-quality, bespoke Patrons Programme.

You will have a direct impact on diversifying the Patrons Events Programme, ensuring the smooth running of the Patrons Events Programme. You will build and maintain strong relationships with the Museum's Patrons and Departmental Supporter Groups acting as a key point of contact, taking ownership of Patron communications and events and overseeing the effective administration of the Patrons scheme.

About you

Key areas of responsibility

Administration and coordination of the Patrons scheme:

• Act as first point of contact for Patrons, responding to enquiries and resolving requests independently where appropriate.
• Draft and coordinate high-quality communications which reflect the high level of service and special relationship between the Patrons Team and its supporters.
• Liaise with the Operations, Membership and Supporter Services teams to organise and deliver monthly Patron renewals, ensuring data is accurate and processes are timely.
• Working with the Membership and Supporter Engagement team to coordinate and deliver regular email and postal communications.

Patrons' events:

• Coordinate event logistics working third parties and Museum colleagues, in particular the Events and Supporter Engagement teams.
• Lead on the delivery of key events such as Patrons' Open House and Patrons' Previews, assisting the Senior Patrons Manager on the planning and delivery of the Director's Dinner, ensuring a high standard of execution throughout.
• Liaise with the Development Data and Research Officer to prepare briefing notes and supporting materials for events.

Patrons International Travel Programme:

• Support the coordination and delivery of the Patrons international travel programme, including managing communications, mailings, and preparatory materials.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop and implement an audience development strategy and an evaluation framework that aligns with the Cathedral's overall goals

· Lead on data and feedback analysis and the building of reports to inform key stakeholders and SLT of Cathedral programming

Finance Administrator – Job Description

Location: Hybrid with at least one day a week at the Power Up North London office
Contract: Part time (15 hours a week)
Salary: £12,000 per annum (pro-rata, based on 15 hours a week)

Role Purpose

Power Up North London is a leading community energy organisation delivering renewable energy, energy efficiency and retrofit projects that directly benefit community groups and public buildings. We are driven by a belief that communities can and must play a central role in the transition to a zero-carbon future.

The Finance Administrator is responsible for financial management and integrity of Power Up North London’s financial operations. This role will deliver accurate financial and management reporting, budget tracking and oversight of finance processes including cashflow management, invoicing, payments, and associated controls.

Working closely with the Board and external finance partners, the postholder will provide the financial insight and control needed to support decision-making, maintain funder confidence, and enable sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

Financial Management and Governance

· Maintain oversight of Power Up North London ’s financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity across all financial processes

· Prepare monthly management accounts for internal review and Board reporting

· Support preparation and management of the annual budget

· Track income and expenditure against the approved budget, identifying and explaining variances

· Tracking of grant and project income and expenditures against budget

Billing and Revenue Assurance

· Ensure timely billing and effective debtor management

· Identify and flag billing discrepancies for sites

· Support investigation and resolution of issues to ensure accurate income collection

Cashflow and Treasury Management

· Manage cashflow and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts

· Reconcile bank accounts fortnightly and track cash movements

· Monitor invoicing timeliness and payments disbursements to support effective cashflow management 

Performance Monitoring and Financial Modelling

· Liaise with the Asset Management Team to track financial performance of solar sites and projects against forecasts

· Support analysis of income and expenditure, highlighting risks and opportunities

· Assist in pricing of electricity for new sites and checking financial assumptions and modelling

External Finance Coordination

· Work effectively with Share energy (Power Up North London’s outsourced finance provider)

· Liaise on accounting, reporting, and financial queries, ensuring timely resolution

· Monitor fulfilment of service level agreements  

Financial Controls

· Ensure adherence with Power Up North London’s financial processes and controls

· Implement controls relevant to payments in / out, grants management and bank reconciliations

Shareholder Register Maintenance  

· Maintain internal record of shareholder capital outstanding and member capital and interest payments due

· Update shareholder register for shareholder actions, redemptions, and new issuances

A core part of the role is supporting and scaling Amnesty Clubs and Youth groups across the UK, alongside recruiting and training a network of volunteers who deliver human rights talks and workshops to engage and inspire young people. You will mentor and organise the Children's Human Rights Network, enabling young leaders to design and run impactful national campaigns on everyday rights issues and resisting authoritarianism. You will also contribute to AIUK's emerging work supporting boys and young men to engage with human rights.

Pro Bono Community is seeking a Training and Volunteer Coordinator to help us achieve greater access to justice.

Pro Bono Community is a registered charity that has developed specialised training programmes for students, trainees and lawyers covering the practical skills involved in delivering free legal advice and areas of social welfare law. In conjunction with the training, the charity arranges and manages volunteering placements at Law Centres and other advice agencies. The charity’s activities include a number of grant-funded projects which the coordinator will be heavily involved in.

About the role

Pro Bono Community is looking for a Training and Volunteer Coordinator to help us run programmes aimed at improving the amount and quality of access to justice by training law students and others and then placing them to work as volunteers at advice agencies.

The Training and Volunteer Coordinator will report to and work alongside the Director to undertake work supporting the charity’s activities with a focus on recruiting and training students and lawyers and then coordinating volunteering placements for them at Law Centres and advice agencies. The role also includes administrative work relating to a pioneering digital advice clinic the charity runs in conjunction with a Citizens Advice agency in London.

This is a full-time role with a salary of £31-35,000 depending on experience and the charity is seeking to appoint someone with knowledge of training and the legal/advice sectors and/or experience in a similar role. Occasional weekend work may be required. The role will involve working from home with some travel involved to London and elsewhere in support of the charity’s activities. The role includes annual leave of 25 days and a workplace pension scheme.
