Research Grants Manager

About the role

As Research Grants Manager, you will establish and manage Macmillan’s research funding activities. You’ll help develop our research strategy, build a programme of grant funding, and ensure robust, equitable and transparent processes across the full research funding cycle.

You will work closely with senior clinical leaders, academic partners and research funders to establish Macmillan’s identity within the UK cancer research ecosystem and deliver high‑quality, strategically aligned research grants.
 

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a research strategy and priority themes aligned with Macmillan’s strategy, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and Research & Health Data Lead.
• Establish Macmillan’s research funding programme to enable the award of high quality, strategically aligned research grants to build national research capacity centred on people living with cancer.
• Design and implement application, peer review and award processes across the research funding cycle.
• Lead the planning, logistics and documentation for all research funding calls.
• Convene and facilitate expert review panels, including lived experience representatives.
• Oversee the management of the research grants portfolio, ensuring accurate records, reporting, auditing and impact monitoring.
• Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions, research funders and charities.
• Manage and develop a small team responsible for overseeing the administration of awards.

About you

The successful candidate will bring:

• An advanced degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., health policy or health services research, public health, social science, implementation science) or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience of establishing and managing research funding programmes, including application, peer review and post‑award processes within a research funder, charity or equivalent.
• Experience of convening and facilitating expert panels, including lived experience representatives.
• Experience in managing and developing a small team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture
• Strong understanding of research governance, ethics, compliance and impact assessment frameworks.
• Knowledge of the UK research funding landscape and cancer research ecosystem.
• Excellent project management, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences.

Location: This role is based in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC), the service is a short walk from Ladbroke Grove (Circle and Hammersmith) station. Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Concierge to join our team based in RBKC who provide support to our residents who have multiple and complex needs which could include mental health, substance use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds.  

You’ll help create a safe, welcoming and well run environment, offering reassurance and practical support to residents when they need it most. This role is key to keeping our building, residents and service secure and responsive. You’ll do regular safety checks, monitor access, respond to emergencies, support residents with queries, keep records, and hand over to the team. You’ll also help maintain a clean and safe environment.

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Ensuring our buildings are safe by monitoring, completing welfare checks and responding affectively and appropriately to emergencies

Level Water exists to solve a problem that shouldn’t exist: too many disabled children are still missing out on high-quality swimming lessons. 

Last year, our swimmers raised over £1m. This year we’ve sold out events in minutes and want to double the fundraising. We’re on the path to exponential growth and we need someone who can help us get there.

We're Level Water, a founder-led charity solving learn-to-swim for disabled children. We're not your typical charity. We own our events and run them like a business. • Own end-to-end marketing for our events portfolio: from launch campaigns to sell-out.

• Use data to spot opportunities: which channels are converting? Where are we leaving growth on the table? What could we do differently?

• Grow our email database and social audiences with intent, not just for vanity metrics.

• Be trusted to repeatedly turn £1 into £5 or £10.

A Senior Sous Chef position is needed to assist the Executive head chef in the everyday running and organising of the kitchen and to line manage assistant chefs and kitchen porters. Menu planning, food ordering, stock control, and event delivery.

This role is a fixed-term contract for one year, and the prospective post-holder is expected to commence in the role by April.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all the Lambeth Palace kitchen team are fully trained in the food safety management systems and procedures, implemented by the Executive Head Chef.
• Work under and closely with the Executive Head Chef to ensure that all statutory legislation is adhered to by ensuring that standards and controls for Health & Safety, food hygiene, risk assessments, COSHH, manual handling are carried out as per current legislation.
• To ensure that the agreed standards of food preparation and presentation are always supervised and adhered to.
• To maintain Lambeth Palace's five star 'Scores on the Doors' council rating.
• Maintain and develop a positive and collaborative relationship with all colleagues, giving direction when necessary.
• Ensure that kitchen timesheets are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
• Working within the HSE guidelines, the Senior Sous Chef will support the Executive Head Chef to ensure allergen training is provided to all hospitality staff.
• To ensure that food waste is minimised and Lambeth Palace's sustainability targets are met reducing our environmental impact.
• To deputise for the Executive Head Chef in their absence.
• Working with the Executive Head Chef on menu development, to plan nutritious and varied seasonal menus, taking into account special dietary requirements and the seasons of the Church.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bid Manager and Writer to join our dynamic Business Development Team. This is a pivotal, hands-on role that will play a key part in driving organisational growth, securing new opportunities, and retaining existing contracts. Working closely with senior colleagues and internal stakeholders, you will develop strong, persuasive bids and proposals that meet financial targets and organisational objectives. While you will work independently on bids, you will also be an integral part of the wider Bid and Business Development teams, supporting colleagues and collaborating with subject matter experts as required.

SIG is a complex and growing organisation, delivering a wide range of health, social care and criminal justice funded services. In this role, you will lead competitive tendering processes end to end, crafting compelling, compliant submissions that align with our mission and values. You will take ownership of the full bid lifecycle, from early market engagement through to final submission ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance at every stage.

Many procurement processes screen submissions for AI‑generated content, and our bids must meet strict originality requirements. Applicants must be able to write independently and produce original bid content without reliance on AI writing tools

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Lead the development and submission of competitive bids, ensuring all are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues and internal teams to secure necessary approvals and sign-off for bids and budgets.
• Produce high-quality, engaging proposals that clearly articulate SIG’s vision, services, and value to commissioners and funders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and commissioners.
• Conduct market research and stay informed on trends across social care, criminal justice, healthcare, and procurement to inform bid strategy.
• Work closely with Bid Team colleagues to draft, review, and finalise submissions.
• Attend market engagement events and undertake service visits to gain insight and represent SIG effectively.

About You

We're looking for a self-starter, someone who can hit the ground running and form effective purposeful relationships within the organisation and externally, someone innovative, creative, and able solve problems to support our growth! Someone with previous experience writing bids and/or proposals, securing new or existing contracts. We're looking for an effective communicator, with a high attention to detail and quality. You will be passionate about what we do, supporting vulnerable people and understand the complexities of their backgrounds. .

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in bid writing and bid management, with a track record of securing new contracts and retaining existing ones.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to produce clear, compelling, and engaging content.
• Ideally, experience securing bids and proposals within the voluntary, social care, criminal justice, or healthcare sectors.
• A strong understanding of the sector.
• Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders, including directors and commissioners, and leading bid-related meetings.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using tender portals.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to take ownership of bids through to successful completion.

About the Role

The Supervising Solicitor – Legal Aid is a key role in shaping and strengthening Release’s legal services. Working closely with the Joint Head of Legal Services and Executive Director, and in collaboration with other colleagues, you will supervise the delivery of high-quality legal advice and representation, supporting the growth of legal aid practice whilst ensuring Release continues to train and develop social justice lawyers for the future. 

We are looking for an experienced legal aid practitioner who is strongly committed to social justice and the legal rights of marginalised communities, and who wants to build leadership experience in a movement-led organisation. The role will combine hands-on practice, leadership, supervision and compliance responsibilities.

As Supervising Solicitor – Legal Aid, you will:

• Support Strategic Development: Contribute to developing the direction and priorities of Release’s legal services, including expanding legal aid work and strengthening access to justice.

Deputy Service Manager

Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

Location: Based within a non-residential service in Wembley, working within communities, homes, and other residentials. This service does have step free access however we are unable to guarantee this at some of the other locations where the role is based such as homes and community based locations.

Salary: £31,700

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota working 09:00 - 17:00, hours may be extended 08:00 - 18:00. You may also be required to work outside these hours as per service/participant requirements. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota for managers.

This is a great opportunity for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Wembley. You will support the Service Manager to ensure high quality service delivery, being a key contact for staff, helping them feel supported, skilled, and empowered within their roles. In this role you will be based within a service which is at the heart of delivering person-centred support to vulnerable adults who have been, or are at risk of homelessness. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
