You will:

• Establish strong relationships with health and community service colleagues.
• Build strong working relationships with communities from areas where hepatitis B is common, such as South Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and Eastern Europe.

Lewisham Parochial & Almshouse Charities is looking for a Clerk to the Trustees: an experienced, independent-minded governance professional to support our board on governance, finance and administration.

We are a small group of four historic charities, amalgamated by Charity Commission scheme in 1990 but with roots reaching back over 400 years in the ancient parish of Lewisham. We run the Lloyd Court almshouse in Ladywell, providing independent housing for older residents, and award small grants across the parish. Our staff team is small — a House Manager and a Premises Manager on site — supported by a board of volunteer trustees.

What you'll do:

• clerk the board and its committees, including agendas, papers, minutes and follow-up;
• maintain the three-year budget and prepare the annual accounts for audit and filing with the Charity Commission;
• keep statutory and operational records, policies and compliance in good order;
• advise trustees on charity law, regulation and good practice;
• and work with the House Manager so trustees stay sighted on day-to-day operations.

What you'll need:

• demonstrable experience of clerking, company secretarial or equivalent governance support to a charity board;
• sound knowledge of charity governance and Charity Commission requirements;
• financial acumen across budgets, management accounts and annual accounts;
• excellent minute taking and clear written English

We are looking for two experienced managers to join us for two fixed term Portfolio Manager roles (12-month FTC and FTC until 31 March 2027) who will form part of a team of around 40 in total.

The UK Portfolio supports the ambitions and potential of communities across the UK.  We focus on scaling projects with a UK-wide benefit, through significant investments and partnerships, which enable systems-level change for communities. Role Expectations

We are looking for experienced managers who are confident in managing and developing others, managing performance and adept at managing a varied workload from across our funding lifecycle to new funding investments and partnerships.

You will first and foremost be a people manager, with the skills and experience of navigating operational delivery from budgets, resourcing and risk, for example, to ensuring quality delivery of our work and supporting a culture that enables people to thrive.

You could be working across any of our programmes and developing areas of work but an interest in our current funding programmes and areas of development is essential. If you have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing communities across the UK, these roles are for you.

All managers will have blended roles that combine people and some operational responsibilities, as well as involvement in developing areas of work. The variety of responsibilities could include:

• Line managing and developing Funding Officers, supporting performance, wellbeing and ensuring their continuous development and professional growth
• Ensuring operational excellence through resource and operational management: including across our funding programmes and partnerships, including managing budgets, risk and reporting  
• Overseeing the end-to-end funding programme process: including monitoring programme performance, assuring the quality of funding recommendations and decisions and ensuring a high-quality and consistent experience for customers and stakeholders.
• Contributing to the development of new funding approaches, partnerships and investment opportunities.
• Working closely with teams and colleagues across The Fund to ensure our work is connected into and adds value.

You will need to work collectively and very closely with the other managers each day as to how responsibilities and workstream leads are agreed and managed.

We're looking for people with practical experience of the funding and grant-making environment, who can bring their sound judgement relating to this to the team. You will also bring strong analytical, project and stakeholder and relationship management skills, alongside the ability to be adaptable and comfortably work at pace.

You’ll be joining a dynamic and welcoming geographically dispersed team, working with hugely important and fascinating projects that are responding to and addressing a wide range of topics across the Fund’s four community-led missions.

Due to our dispersed nature as a team, it is expected that there will be occasional travel in order to connect with colleagues, stakeholders and projects. This is likely to be one to two occasions per month.

About the role

Working at Crisis Skylight Birmingham, you will lead on the delivery of our volunteer programme. Our dedicated team of Van Drivers (known internally as Stock Transport Drivers) support our retail shops every day to supply essential stock which is crucial to their success.  This allows our shops to raise much needed funds to create an Equal Future with disabled people.

The Role

Permanent, 35 hours a week

The role:

We’re looking for someone who would like to join our team of Energy Caseworkers within our Warmer Homes Advice & Money (WHAM) project. You will work as part of a team of caseworkers supporting people living in fuel poverty, working closely with our partner organisations across Bristol, B&NES and North Somerset and drawing on their specialist advice to support householders.

You will be trained to give energy efficiency advice to householders, working mainly from our Bristol office and occasionally from our partners’ offices, undertaking outreach activities and home visits across the area. The role includes providing in-depth casework support, communicating with energy suppliers on behalf of clients, and maintaining accurate records of all interactions.

You will join as a Trainee Energy Caseworker for the first 5 months, becoming an Energy Caseworker on successful completion of probation. This is a fixed-term post for 12 months, with full training provided, including City & Guilds Energy Awareness training, and ongoing support from a casework mentor and supervisor.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Provide energy advice to clients by phone and email.
• Provide information to help clients access appropriate support.
