Job Title: Head of Major Giving - Trusts & Foundations and Individual Donors
Reporting to: Director of Fundraising and Development
Location of work: Home based. The post holder will be expected to travel to meet donors, travel to away days and team meetings in London. The role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland. Expenses will be paid in line with our Travel and Expenses policy.
Contract type: Ideally full-time, 35 hours per week, 28 hours or 35 hours compressed would be considered.
Contract Length: This is a fixed term contract starting ASAP for 12 months.
Salary: £48,500

JOB PURPOSE
This is a unique opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role during an exciting period of transformation at Magic Breakfast. As Head of Major Giving (Maternity Cover), you will shape and deliver our strategy for high-value income generation across philanthropy and trusts and foundations, while embedding a newly merged team and fostering a culture of one unified, high-performing team within Major Giving and more widely as part of Fundraising and Development.
You will lead a team of five people, line managing and working closely with two Major Giving Leads, empowering them and co-creating a Major Giving strategy that fully seizes the opportunities presented by our refreshed organisational strategy. You will also oversee a well-established Trusts and Foundations portfolio and a group of highly engaged individual donors, maintaining and growing these important relationships whilst helping to provide strategic and targeted support across pipeline development.
This role offers a chance to make a tangible difference by bringing together two recently merged teams, embedding new ways of working, and setting up structures for long-term success. You will have a dotted-line relationship with the Business Development Manager (Scotland), enabling you to ensure joined-up major giving approaches across the UK and unlock exciting opportunities in Scotland.
We are looking for a natural relationship-builder with a proven track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to inspire donors, colleagues, and external stakeholders alike. As part of the Fundraising Leadership team, you will deputise for the Director of Fundraising and Development when needed and collaborate across the organisation to implement, monitor, and adapt our fundraising strategy, maximising the impact of major giving.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an integrated Major Giving strategy covering philanthropy and trusts & foundations with clear objectives and KPIs for income and performance and an embedded review, learn and continuously improve culture.
- Provide strong leadership across the Major Giving team, ensuring delegation and empowerment whilst also setting clear direction that helps to mitigate challenges and unlock and seize on opportunities.
- As part of the wider leadership team, play a key role in ensuring effective delivery of the fundraising strategy, organisational goals and our long-term strategic vision.

Oversee a collaborative approach to prospect research and pipeline development to ensure a sustainable flow of opportunities, working with colleagues from across the wider department to leverage opportunities for referrals and pipeline development.

Work across the organisation to package innovative and compelling projects for funding. Maintain a strong knowledge of the organisation strategy, business plan and opportunities for innovation, to identify and build compelling giving propositions, wish lists and a persuasive case for support including non-financial asks.

Prepare phased budgets and reforecasts, identifying and recognising opportunities and risks to income in line with activity plans and progress.

Work with finance and performance and relevant business leads to manage programme budgets and restrictions.

Foster strong communication and collaboration with the Business Development Manager (Scotland), ensuring effective two-way sharing of insight, alignment on donor and funder relationships, and joined-up approaches to national and devolved opportunities.

About the role
The Project Assistant will manage day-to-day activities for the School Health Integrated Programme (SHIP), working closely with the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. Based in Harare, with implementation in Glenview-Mufakose District, the role focuses on coordination, monitoring, documentation, reporting, and supporting capacity-building initiatives to ensure successful delivery of project targets.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate SHIP activities with ministries, partners, and schools to meet project objectives.
- Organise capacity-building sessions for health workers and school health coordinators.
- Prepare activity reports and contribute to quarterly and annual donor reports.
- Monitor project implementation through site visits and follow-up actions.
- Support outreach activities and ensure proper record-keeping systems are maintained.
- Track project expenditure and monitor budget variance for compliance and value for money.
- Represent the programme at meetings with ministries and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate patient satisfaction studies and assist with operational research.
- Support partners in planning, monitoring, and quality assurance of project delivery.

- Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related discipline (postgraduate degree an advantage) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience in programme or project management, ideally within an INGO setting.
- Knowledge of public health and eye health in Zimbabwe.
- Understanding of Disability Inclusive Development and experience working with OPDs.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation and research.
- Understanding of Zimbabwe’s health system and advocacy work.

About the role
We are looking for an exceptional Programme Officer with experience of managing an integrated NTD programme within an international context, to ensure the successful implementation of the Reaching the Last Mile (RLM) programme. This groundbreaking project will strengthen health systems in Burkina Faso that work to eliminate river blindness (onchocerciasis) and lymphatic filariasis (LF). As Programme Officer, you will be integral to the planning, delivery and success of this work, whilst also supporting a range of other Sightsavers programmes and projects in Burkina Faso.
As NTD Programme Officer RLM, your key duties will include:
Supporting Project Management
- Work with partners to develop annual plans and ensure effective implementation
- Timely and high-quality reporting regarding field visits and action-follow ups
- Develop high quality case studies as part of reporting and for fundraising
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Assist the Senior Program manager and country teams in developing a system for monitoring and evaluating NTD programme performance.
- Provide direction and support to assist country research teams and help them to identify operational research opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of NTD elimination efforts.
Partnership Management
- Identify and maintain effective partnerships

Communications, Learning and Influencing
- Coordinate, consolidate and disseminate programme learning across Sightsavers and beyond

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in programme management, technical knowledge of NTDs, excellent Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning skills as well as a detailed understanding of the Burkina Faso health system.
This role involves national travel to implementation sites (approximately 40%). What could my day look like?

About the Role
The Curriculum Leads are responsible for developing new content and updating existing content to ensure that it is accessible, curriculum-aligned and fun to help promote positive parent-child interactions. The Early Years role will continue the development of our school readiness programme, Ready Teddy beyond its pilot phase to ensure that it has the greatest impact on the schools and families that use it.

- Use existing evaluation findings to expand on the current Ready teddy programme content.

Content development
- Plan scope of content required, both in terms of creating new content and updating existing content.

About You

About The Role

Whilst this is a homeworking role, you will need to be based in and able to travel across your sub region (Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hants, East Dorset) to meet supporters and attend internal meetings at locations across the country including our flagship offices (London, Birmingham, Warrington and Belfast). Reporting to the MEAL Manager, the Data Management Officer is a key role in SPANA’s MEAL team. The role oversees the full data cycle, including supporting partners with consistent data collection, improving data quality assurance, maintaining data systems, setting standards, co-ordinating consolidation of programme data and producing clear analysis and visualisation. The role contributes directly to better use of evidence in programme design, learning and accountability across the organisation.
Contract, location and salary
This is a full-time (34.5 hour per week), permanent role based in the UK. SPANA works on a hybrid basis, and staff come into our office in London for approximately 1-2 days per month (or more if preferred).

Duties and Responsibilities
Your principal duties and responsibilities will be to contribute to L&W’s research programme across a range of high-profile and time-critical projects for government, trusts and foundations and other funders. Suitable candidates should demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity throughout the conduct of their duties.
Assist the L&W research team with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. This may involve review and analysis of national and local data sources, recruitment for qualitative research, conducting depth interviews and focus groups with service users, staff and other stakeholders, and managing and analysing data.
- Carry out literature and evidence reviews, including identifying relevant research evidence, appraising the quality of evidence and writing up key findings.
- Support income generation, in collaboration with other Learning and Work staff, including contributing to the preparation of research proposals.
- Work as part of research project teams and actively participate in project meetings.
- Assist in other tasks to support the work of the research team as required. This will involve some research administration.
- Proof-reading reports, events programmes and marketing material for clarity and accuracy to ensure they meet our high quality standards.

About You
Essential
- Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. social sciences, economics, research methods, etc) or equivalent qualifications or experience in a research capacity.
- Experience of writing for external publication e.g. websites, reports, newsletters.
- Experience of undertaking qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis
- Accuracy and attention to detail, and ability to show initiative and work independently.
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office suite (in particular, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work to deadline and manage multiple, competing priorities.

About you:
You're an experienced Internal Auditor who's operated at a senior level in a similar complex organisation. You've led audit teams, deputised for a Chief Audit Executive, and know what it takes to deliver assurance that's professional, credible, and genuinely adds value.

You'll have:
- Experience as a practicing Internal Auditor operating at a senior level working within an internal audit team, with a proven track record of leading audit teams and deputising for a Chief Audit Executive.

- Experience drafting professional, high-quality reports for Boards, Committees, and Executive Management.

- Experience in Counter Fraud activities and knowledge of Charity Commission guidance on fraud protection and the Code of Fundraising Practice would be advantageous.
