TALK Surrey CIO is a small local charity dedicated to supporting people affected by stroke and aphasia, an acquired language and communication difficulty. People with aphasia can often feel isolated and lose their confidence. We provide group activities, home visits, and community services designed to improve quality of life and foster social connections. Our team of trained volunteers and two existing part-time staff provide an inclusive and supportive group environment for our members to practise their communication skills, share experiences and enjoy each others' company.
We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate Head of Charity to be responsible for leading our organisation, ensuring our services are high-quality, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of our members. You would be responsible for the overall leadership, management and development of TALK, including thinking ahead to expand our range of services. You will ensure the charity is well governed, financially sustainable and delivering high-quality, person-centred services aligned to its mission.
You would work closely with Trustees, staff, volunteers, members and other stakeholders to shape the charity’s future, strengthen partnerships, and ensure effective service delivery.
About you
Ideally you will have:
Experience working in the voluntary or charity sector and an understanding of charity governance, compliance and accountability would be desirable, as would some knowledge of stroke, aphasia or related health and social care services. Other desirable attributes are: Experience of fundraising, grant management or income development and Experience of volunteer management and community engagement.

About the role:
We are looking to appoint an experienced fundraiser to help build income from corporate fundraising with an emphasis on securing long term and strategic partnerships.
Reporting to the Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for proactively generating significant income from five and six figure corporate partnerships by managing the new business pipeline, identifying new opportunities, building relationships and networking with key stakeholders and producing compelling applications and creative partnership proposals.
This is an excellent opportunity to build on previous experience and develop your skills in business development. Previous experience of securing high value, strategic partnerships in the third sector would be beneficial. The team has a proven track record in winning prestigious corporate partnerships which include: Macfarlanes LLP, Invesco, Knight Frank, Deutsche Bank, Nomura and high street names such as Kurt Geiger. Responsible for a third of the charity’s income the team are driven, highly motivated & results orientated.

The Senior Business Development Manager will play a key role within a high-performing team responsible for generating significant revenue through commercial hire events at the Roundhouse.

The Events team operates within the Commercial Directorate, working independently from the Music team while contributing to the overall success of Roundhouse’s commercial ventures.
Weekend and evening work will be required according to business needs.
About you:
You are a commercially driven, experienced Business Development professional with a strong track record of achieving and exceeding targets within the events sector. Proactive and results-focused, you thrive on outbound sales, lead generation, and converting high-value opportunities into long-term partnerships.
You bring confidence in negotiation, proposal writing, and contract closing, alongside the strategic ability to develop and deliver sales plans that drive sustainable revenue growth. You are motivated by impact and committed to maximising income while supporting the Roundhouse’s wider mission and values.

About the Role
We are looking for a Head of Proposition Development to join us on a six month fixed term contract, to lead the creation of compelling, strategic fundraising propositions that will help Sense secure significant funding across multiple income streams. This is a full time, hybrid role working 2-3 days on site at our offices in Kings Cross, London.
Working across a large and complex organisation, you will collaborate with fundraisers, programme leads and senior stakeholders to develop clear and powerful narratives about our work. You will translate our strategy into fundable opportunities and persuasive cases for support, ensuring our fundraisers have the tools they need to secure transformational funding.
You will also establish strong impact tracking and reporting frameworks, enabling us to demonstrate the difference our supporters make and strengthen long-term relationships.
