We're looking for a proactive and well-connected Fundraising Coordinator to work closely with SYEDA's management team to shape and deliver our fundraising plans for the future.

This is a unique opportunity to own and develop a fundraising plan, not just to deliver against one that is already in place. You'll play a central role in diversifying our income streams, strengthening our sustainability, and enabling more people to access vital support.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the development and delivery of a strategic fundraising plan
• Build and grow corporate partnerships and relationships with local businesses
• Design engaging and meaningful fundraising opportunities for individuals, which take into account the nuances of fundraising for eating disorder support.
• Develop relationships with small grants and trusts organisations.
• Work collaboratively across SYEDA to ensure fundraising is embedded in our wider strategy and impact.

Ideally, you'll have experience in a fundraising or income-generation role, and a track record of developing relationships which lead to tangible support. This role will work closely with SYEDA's CEO to explore opportunities to amplify the work that we do, and bolster support to ensure that work can continue, and having strong networks and the confidence to build new ones will be key to the role. We're a small, dedicated team, and so a collaborative mindset and a passion for mission-driven work is key.

The Geological Society Publishing House has an exciting opportunity within the publishing operations team for a ‘Publishing Coordinator - Journals’ to maintain the smooth running of the submission and peer review process for the Society’s journal publishing programme.

Overall responsibilities / requirements … 

To oversee the article submission and peer review process for the Society’s journal publishing programme. Alongside the Publishing Coordinator for Books, implement agreed workflow and development updates across our submission, reviewing and licence management publishing operation systems and contribute to the operational side of the research integrity in house team. Reporting to the Head of Publishing Operations.

Peer-review

• Manage peer review on the Society’s journal portfolio
• Management of editorial freelance services
• Maintain peer review turnaround times and acceptance levels
• Liaison and support of key stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills, teamwork and collaboration across team
• Accountability to meet competing deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Ensure that manuscripts meet requirements and follow current policies and procedures
• Uphold excellent contributor experience for authors, editors, and reviewers

Operational systems

• Develop system configuration skills required to become an operational systems specialist for the Society’s manuscript submission and production system (currently Editorial Manager and Production Manager) and its third-party integrated systems (such as licence and open access management and research integrity tools)
• Work with colleagues to troubleshoot persistent manuscript, workflow or system issues, providing expertise and advice, and exercising judgement to resolve the issue
• Developing an understanding of XML tagging would be desirable

Research Integrity

• Work with colleagues to maintain guidance and use of tools to comply with industry research integrity standards
• Research integrity operational checks and assessments

• Monitor progress, engagement and achievement.
• Use data to identify learning gaps and plan targeted improvements.

• Contribute to initiatives that promote inclusive and differentiated teaching.
• Support a culture of psychological safety, vulnerability-based trust and a clear purpose.

About the role:

The MARAC Administrator will support the MARAC Coordinator in the administering the MARAC process. The post holder will be co-located in Brent and will be required to attend MARAC meetings in various locations as required. There will also be a requirement to attend Advance’s Head office.

The MARAC Administrator will process MARAC referrals and flag to the MARAC Coordinator any referrals that have insufficient information or may not meet the MARAC threshold. The post holder will also compile the MARAC At Risk List for approval by the MARAC Coordinator, including case details of survivors and perpetrators who will be discussed at the MARAC.

About You:

To be successful as the MARAC Administrator you will need the below experience and skills:

• An understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.

• Experience of office management and administration roles and experience of maintaining data systems and producing regular monitoring reports

• Accurate and methodical approach to dealing with data processing, filing systems, facts and figures

• Excellent literary and administrative skills including ability in information technology, data collection and in-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• The ability to be flexible, working as a team or independently as required to support the service and colleagues

• An ability to work in partnership with relevant statutory and voluntary groups, to demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain strong constructive working relationships

• An ability to cope in stressful situations; able to multi-task and prioritise, remaining calm under pressure
