Information is King”- In the fast-changing world of digital information and artificial intelligence, be a vital part of Carers Support West Sussex’s goal to ensure that cares receive high quality information in a variety of formats. Help us to embrace the use of Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence to allow carers to access information in a variety of ways acknowledging that carers may not be able to contact us during core office hours.
In the role of Carer Information Officer, you'll be instrumental in researching, scoping and working closely with our Communications & Marketing team in developing our creation of information resources, alongside our skilled staff team to ensure that the information is accurate, relevant and well presented. You will create high quality information content suited to a variety of channels including (but not exclusively) e-learning platforms, web, video, and print.
Through the work of this role, we will increase carer awareness to enable us to reach and support more carers, provide easy access to information and advice, enable better navigation of services by carers, and help carers feel better connected and that their voices are heard through the content we produce. Carers will be better able to find information digitally at a time that works for them.
This role works within our Information and Advice Team with close links to our Engagement, Community and Comms & Marketing teams. You will develop a deep understanding of carers and their needs putting equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility and co-production at the heart of your practice.
This hybrid role combines remote work with occasional travel to in-person meetings and activities, which may include some weekend engagements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Research and Content Development: Identify and evaluate reliable sources of information to develop accurate and accessible content that provides a wide range of information and guidance for carers.
- Collaboration: Work with carer service teams and external partners to ensure information is current and relevant. Work with Marcomms and HR (training) to co-produce high-quality, information resources in engaging and accessible formats.
- Co-production: Work alongside the Engagement & Volunteer Team to explore and collate carer insights to inform and include carers in content creation.
- Digital Presentation: Embrace digital innovation and emerging technologies, including AI, to co-create accessible digital resources tailored to the needs of unpaid carers. This includes producing content for the website and e-learning platforms, ensuring it is accurate, inclusive, and easy to navigate.
- Awareness Raising: Contribute to the promotion of Carers Support West Sussex and the services offered by creating engaging information that increases public and professional understanding of unpaid carers and the challenges they face.
- Trend Spotting: Horizon scan to spot social and news trends and understand developing opportunities for new ways to share information.
- Compliance: Work within Carer Support West Sussex’s Policies and Procedures, being especially mindful of safeguarding, confidentiality, GDPR, equality and diversity in all areas of work.

Overall Purpose of the Community and Events Fundraising Officer
As our Community and Events Officer, you will primarily focus on the expansion and development of our community and events programme.
Supported by the Senior Fundraising Manager, you will develop and shape this area of fundraising, including creating new products and stewardship plans, resulting in the engagement, development and retention of supporters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
- Research and submit compelling proposals and applications for high-value grants and donations (5+ figures) to secure income and support long-term sustainability.
- Prospect research of new funders and partners capable of supporting Back Up’s work.
- Provide timely, accurate reports and updates to funders showing the impact of funded work.
- Delivering an effective stewardship programme to engage and thank funders, working closely with the partnerships team to inspire our donors
- Maximise opportunities through Back Up’s networks, including the fundraising team, services staff, SMT, development board, board of trustees and volunteer networks.
- Managing multi-year budgets and ensure accurate forecasting, monitoring and evaluating performance to meet agreed targets.
- Support the maintenance and development of internal systems to manage restricted income and effective data flow and quality to support delivery of the Trusts and Foundations Strategy
- Ensure up to date records of grants and donations and funder communications.
- Manage, support, and develop the trust fundraising team and plans.
- Build strong working relationships with services and finance to align funding with strategic needs and business plans

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential:
- Proven success in securing income from a range of charitable trusts and foundations
- Experience managing staff or volunteers and delivering against targets
- Strong relationship-building, engagement and stewardship skills
- Confident communicator with excellent written skills
- Experience in supporting planning and monitoring of budgets, pipelines and KPIs
- Familiarity with CRM and data tools for fundraising and reporting
- A collaborative and proactive approach
- The ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends
Desirable:
- Experience in high level cultivation and securing corporate foundation income
- Knowledge of spinal cord injury or disability-related issues

We're looking for a Content Designer to research, structure and write user-centred content for Tearfund's channels. This includes Tearfund's website, email, advertising, social media and print channels. We value effective collaboration at Tearfund, so you won't be working in isolation. Tellmi is a multi-award winning fully moderated, anonymous, mental health service predominantly for young people aged 11-25. The Tellmi app safely enables young people to talk about difficult things and encourages them to help themselves, by helping each other. Beneath an engaging anonymous peer to peer feed, Tellmi integrates the latest psychological research to promote the development of protective factors such as emotional resilience, empathy, social skills, stress management and coping techniques. Tellmi is commissioned by the NHS and Local Authorities across the UK and works closely with schools, CAMHS and VCSFEs.
The Tellmi app is free to download with premium features in commissioned areas. The app is available 365 days a year, 24/7 and our moderators, counsellors and therapists are available from 8:30am until 11pm everyday.
YOUR ROLE
Your role is to ensure the operation of the Tellmi Mental Health Service is safe and effective for all users. This role encompasses direct support for our users via the Tellmi app as well as behind the scenes management of operations. You will be one of the counsellors on call to respond to high risk posts during daytime working hours. You will manage the human element of our digital service including the users, moderators, counsellors, therapists and volunteers. You will take a keen interest in the wellbeing of our users and through curiosity and compassion ensure that they receive the best support that we can provide. You will succeed in this role if have experience of counselling, youth or social work and you are a good communicator who is able to win the trust of your team through compassionate accountability.
As Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) you will take primary responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within Tellmi. You will act as a point of contact for staff and volunteers, providing advice and support on child welfare and protection matters relating to our users. You will manage safeguarding concerns, liaise with external agencies especially in commissioned areas and ensure the company’s safeguarding policies are up-to-date and effective. Although an important responsibility the DSL element is a relatively small part of the overall role.
You will report directly to the Co-CEOs. We are looking for someone who is highly proactive, totally reliable and is eager to take the initiative to help us continually improve the service. We will expect you to enjoy learning and actively pursue continual professional development to ensure that you are fully up to date with the latest policies, regulations and guidance related to your role. You will be expected to share in the on-call remote support of moderators, counsellors and therapists in the evenings and weekends.

YOUR SPECIFIC DUTIES
Moderation, counselling and supervision (15%)

Responsible for responding to high risk users during the day including emergency third party disclosures if required.

Management and oversight of moderators, counsellors, therapists and volunteers (25%)

What will I be doing?

The role
Effective financial management is central to our strategy and operating model. The Finance Manager will be crucial in determining how we manage our finances, resources and operations whilst embedding a culture of financial efficiency and effective controls.
