Volunteering in the shop

Mary’s Living & Giving Kew has become a much loved destination for followers of pre-loved fashion and a community hub for the wonderful residents of Kew. Located minutes from world famous Kew Gardens we welcome lots of UK and international visitors too.

Our Kew Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Role Description:

This role sits within our Men’s Minds project, based in Feltham, Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

This will be achieved through three service strands:

1. Peer support network,
2. Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health
3. Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.

The role of the Peer Volunteer will be to support the Project Coordinator with delivering and developing various workshops and events. You will take the lead in developing peer-led support.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face in a group basis to individuals.

We are looking for someone who

The Peer Support Group is one of our newest services at Mind in Kingston, and focuses on resilience, mindfulness, and goal-setting for individuals with low-level health problems. Support will be offer through groups of up to 8 participants, meeting regularly in person and virtually, over a period of 8 weeks.

Mind in Kingston supports people with mental health issues and raises awareness within Kingston and surrounding areas. Volunteers are essential to our work, and we welcome applicants with lived experience of mental health challenges. Safeguarding Panel Member
Volunteer role

3-year term

Location - The post-holder will be expected to participate in regular Panel meetings, held on a quarterly basis. Some meetings will be online, while others may be held at the Provincial Office at Callaghan Square, Cardiff or another suitable venue to facilitate travel by Panel members from across Wales. Expenses will be reimbursed to cover the cost of travel.

Hours - Meetings are normally scheduled for 2 to 3 hours. In addition, a further 2 to 4 hours reading time may be required to peruse meeting papers and casework in advance of discussion. Papers are circulated a week in advance of meetings.

The Representative Body of the Church in Wales is the national administrative body of the Church in Wales. We have an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding Panel Member to provide independent scrutiny and expert advice in relation to Provincial safeguarding casework, including responses to concerns relating to clergy, church officers and employees of the Church in Wales, support for survivors, safeguarding risk assessment and offender management.

Additionally, the Panel Member will be required to review and make recommendations to Bishops made by Provincial Safeguarding Officers in respect of casework and safeguarding risk management.  (The committee does not hold decision-making responsibility for safeguarding concerns and risk management but exists to provide quality assurance of the response to safeguarding casework within the Church in Wales).

As we grow, we are seeking a committed and experienced Treasurer to guide our financial governance, ensure strong stewardship, and help build a charity that is transparent, sustainable, and ready to scale.

The Role: Volunteer Treasurer

This is a key leadership position within our Board of Trustees. You will oversee the financial health of the charity, ensuring we operate responsibly, ethically, and in line with Charity Commission requirements.

You will work closely with the Founder and Board to establish strong financial systems, support fundraising planning, and help shape a sustainable future for Unlock YOUR Potential.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the charity’s financial strategy, planning, and reporting.

• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission financial regulations and best practice.

• Prepare or review budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.

• Support the development of income streams, including grants, partnerships, and fundraising.

• Advise the Board on financial risks, opportunities, and long‑term sustainability.

• Help establish robust financial controls, processes, and record‑keeping.

• Provide clear, accessible financial updates to trustees and stakeholders.

• Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the charity as a key member of the Board.
