Volunteer for an organisation empowering Tanzanian women and youth through sustainable farming
HERVEG.05
We help women and youth farmers grow nutritious food, raise poultry, and increase income sustainably.
HERVEG.05 addresses the critical issues of malnutrition, food insecurity, and poverty in Tanzania, which ranks among the top 15 countries globally for child stunting. Smallholder farmers, who produce the majority of the country's food, frequently lack the training and tools necessary to overcome poor soil fertility and climate-driven challenges. This creates a devastating cycle of low productivity and worsening hunger that permanently affects the development of millions of children.
The solution is a practical, climate-smart pathway designed for rural realities. HERVEG.05 utilizes a "Mobile layaway" system allowing farmers to purchase seeds and poultry inputs incrementally via phone. Their model includes hands-on training and last-mile delivery of inputs directly to remote village groups. By providing "Nutri-Reach Bundles"—which combine poultry, biofortified maize, and vegetables—the startup creates a circular economy. Poultry manure improves soil, biofortified crops fight malnutrition, and improved storage reduces waste. This integrated system builds resilience against climate change while simultaneously boosting family income and health.
Grant Writer
If you enjoy turning big ideas into clear, winning proposals, and you secretly love deadlines, this one’s for you.
We’re looking for a Grant Writer who can help us turn real impact into strong, fundable stories. You’ll work closely with our team to shape proposals, concept notes, and reports that reflect what’s actually happening on the ground with women and youth farmers.
This role is for someone who:
- Enjoys writing clear, sharp, and persuasive content.
- Can translate field work, data, and ideas into funder-ready language.
- Understands (or is excited to learn about) food systems, nutrition, climate, and livelihoods.
- Aligns with our mission and cares about impact beyond paperwork.
- Can structure ideas well and meet deadlines without drama.
You won’t be writing theory for theory’s sake. You’ll be helping unlock resources that allow farmers to eat better, earn more, and build climate resilience. If you believe good writing can move money, and money can move change, we’d love to work with you.

Volunteer for a community helping nonprofits grow
The Nonprofit Hive is a free platform for changemakers to create and cultivate their social impact community.
Nonprofit work is challenging, full of isolation and a lack of resources. We are working to create a community for nonprofit professionals to have the opportunity to network, make connections, share resources and create collaborations. We place changemakers in 1-1 video chats ("Hive Chats") weekly based on a unique matching algorithm that facilitates conversation.
We are looking for passionate individuals who want to be part of a worldwide movement to engage nonprofit professionals, create resources, be involved in influencer and ambassador marketing and feel like they are impacting the world at large. We are growing quickly and working towards profitability so our biggest challenges right now are in social media, video production, marketing and communications.
PR & Partnerships Support (Social Impact Focus)
As our work gains traction globally, we’re looking for support amplifying our story in the right rooms.
This role focuses on identifying aligned media, podcasts, newsletters, events, and partnership opportunities where The Nonprofit Hive and Community Hives could add value. You might help draft pitch angles, refine key messages, or support outreach to values-aligned organizations, funders, or ecosystem builders.
This is not high-volume PR—it’s thoughtful, targeted relationship-building with people and platforms that care about nonprofit sustainability, community, and collaboration.
Ideal for someone with PR, partnerships, or ecosystem-building experience who wants to apply those skills in a purpose-driven, human way.

Africa Matters Initiative works to provide young people in Africa with skills and knowledge to lead civic engagement and community-organised activities. Africa is the youngest continent in the world, with over 70% of the population being under 30. Some experts predict that the population of Sub-Saharan Africa will double by 2050. The unemployment rate is 2x that of adults, we see young people being forced to join the informal labour market/economy. They are working towards closing the skills gap affecting younger generations of Africans.
