The Organisation
Christian Aid was born out of faith in action. Since our establishment in 1945, in response to the refugee crisis in post-war Europe, we have stood alongside people in their moments of greatest need, while working to address the underlying causes of poverty and injustice. Grounded in our Christian identity, we believe everyone should be treated with equal dignity, have the opportunity to realise their rights and fulfil their God-given potential. Our values of love, dignity, equality and justice guide how we work and the partnerships we build with people of all faiths and beliefs.
Today, Christian Aid works alongside communities and local partners across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America and the Caribbean to respond to crises, strengthen resilience and tackle poverty at its roots. We believe people affected by poverty are best placed to lead change in their own lives, and we work with them to develop sustainable solutions and strengthen their influence. Through partnership, advocacy and the support of churches, we seek to challenge the systems that perpetuate poverty and build a more just and peaceful world.

DofE Program Leader
Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.
As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.
Summary
CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a UK charity that makes a difference to young people’s lives and prepares them for life and work. Young people from every possible background take part in the DofE programme each year to broaden their horizons, develop their leadership skills, learn to work with others, volunteer in their local communities, increase their employability, and prove to themselves they can succeed at a serious challenge.
The DofE Leaders perform a vital role on behalf of the DofE and CAG. They are the adult leaders responsible for the management and training of a DofE group which could be at Bronze, Silver or Gold level. They lead, guide, train and support young people, agree their program choices, sign off their completed sections and approve their eDofE evidence.

Formal qualifications in outdoor leadership (e.g. BEL or ML awards) or other skills (e.g.canoeing) are welcomed but not essential. CAG can provide training opportunities to the right person.

Celebrate achievements as often as possible.
CAG - the Licensed Organisation
Keep in regular contact with the DofE Program Manager and CAG Trips Coordinator.
Respond to requests from CAG in a timely manner.
General
Regularly communicate with parents about DofE group plans / meetings etc.
Use eDofE to measure the performance of the DofE group and to keep abreast of participation.

The post holder must be able to provide a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check, either a current or new application that can be made through CAG.
Making a difference - what impact will the opportunity have?
Your input is key to the running of CAG as well as securing its future. This role puts you in a real position to support young people in developing their skills in expedition activities. You will play an invaluable part of the quality checking process of the expeditions. If you’re thinking of a career in teaching, youth work or outdoor education, or wish to further your experience as an expedition expert, this role will give you invaluable experience.
What's in it for the volunteer?
You would become part of our small, friendly team and you have the opportunity to use your time, skills and experience to make a real difference to CAG and the community in which we operate. You will also have some fun, support a good cause, gain skills and experience, and support the DofE.
About the location
Where will the volunteer be working?
The volunteer can do some of the work remotely, for instance, access eDofE from home and contact participants via online messaging services. However, most of your time will be spent working in close contact with the DofE participants at our unit in Bickenhill on Tuesday meeting nights or on some weekends away on training and practice expeditions.

Finance Trustee (and Co-Chair, Finance, Audit & Risk Committee)
Help end homelessness and shape the future of one of the UK's leading charities.
At Crisis, we believe that homelessness should not exist, and together we can end it. Our bold 10-year strategy is already driving change but with homelessness rising and funding challenges increasing, we know we must think differently, act courageously, and inspire more people to join us. For the first time in Crisis' nearly 60-year history, we are also becoming a direct housing provider.
We are now seeking an exceptional finance leader to join our Board of Trustees and help guide the organisation through an exciting and ambitious phase of our work.
This is an opportunity for a senior finance professional to use their expertise and strategic insight to influence decisions at the highest level, strengthen organisational resilience, and help drive lasting change for people experiencing homelessness across the UK.
About Crisis
We are the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We help people out of homelessness and campaign for the changes needed to solve it altogether.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do. We're bold in our ambition, impactful in our approach, collaborative in how we work and equitable in championing fairness and inclusion.
About the role
As a Trustee, you will play a vital part in ensuring Crisis remains well governed, financially sustainable, and focused on achieving its mission.
Alongside the statutory responsibilities of being a trustee, you will bring specialist financial expertise to the Board and co-chair our Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. You will also contribute to oversight of our growing housing delivery function through membership of the relevant committee.
Working alongside fellow trustees and senior leaders, you will help shape long-term strategy, scrutinise performance, oversee risk, and ensure the organisation remains accountable, transparent and financially strong.
We are looking for someone with:
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with sound judgement and a collaborative approach. You'll be a trusted adviser who can challenge constructively, contribute to robust debate, and support effective decision-making. Most importantly, you'll share our belief that homelessness can be ended and be committed to helping make that vision a reality.
Diversity is hugely important to us at Crisis, and we want to make sure that our Trustees, staff and volunteers represent communities we support. As we continue to strengthen and broaden the perspectives represented on our Board, we particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of homelessness, whose insight is invaluable to our work. We also encourage applications from people from LGBTQ+ communities, ethnic minority backgrounds, disabled people, and others who bring experiences and viewpoints that can contribute to a more inclusive and effective Board. Above all, we welcome candidates who share our values and are passionate about creating positive change.
Time commitment: Overall, the role requires approximately one day per month.
Remuneration
This is a voluntary, unremunerated trustee role.
Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. We are also committed to removing barriers to participation and may consider support where loss of earnings would otherwise prevent involvement.
Term of appointment
Trustees are appointed for an initial three-year term, with the opportunity to be reappointed for a second term.
This is a rare opportunity to use your financial leadership and governance expertise to make a tangible difference to the lives of thousands of people experiencing homelessness.
If you are an experienced finance leader who wants to contribute your skills to a cause of national importance, we would love to hear from you, whether your background is in the private, public or voluntary sector.
How to apply:
Please apply by submitting a copy of your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a covering letter, not exceeding two pages, highlighting your suitability for the position and why you are interested. You can apply by sending your CV and covering letter to the email address contained in the supporting document, or by visiting the Crisis website.

About The Pinnacle Centre
The Pinnacle Centre is a third space in Birmingham helping young adults grow holistically. We work across three domains: personal development, sports and wellbeing, and community and belonging.
Vision 2030 is where that work is heading. We're building a multi-purpose centre in Birmingham — sports facilities, co-working space, an auditorium and a café — designed as a home for young adults to train, work, learn and gather.
Role Summary
You own Pinnacle's volunteer function end to end — how people join us, how they're inducted, how they're deployed, and why they stay. Almost everything Pinnacle delivers is delivered by volunteers, so this is not an admin role. When a session runs smoothly with the right people in the room, that's you. When someone gives us six months and leaves feeling it mattered, that's you too.
Key tasks

● A seat in a team building towards a 2030 horizon, with a clear line of sight to the leadership team.
● Access to our network of founders, professionals, entrepreneurs and investors through Pinnacle's events programme.
● Training, mentoring and the opportunity to build and lead a team of your own as the organisation grows.
● The reward of building something in your city that will outlast all of us.
Please note: this is currently a volunteer position. Reasonable expenses for travel, equipment and refreshments are reimbursed in line with our Expenses Policy. As Pinnacle grows and funding allows, we expect several senior roles to move to paid positions, and volunteers already in post will be considered first

Role overview
Trustee — Policy, Advocacy & EDI
About us: Could you help us get millions of separated children Back to Family?
Orphanages don’t protect children, they harm them. Put simply: the last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs - someone to love them.
Right now, 5.4 million children around the world are locked away in orphanages — even though over 80% of them are not orphans. Orphanages expose children to abuse and trafficking, and physical and psychological trauma that can last a lifetime.
