We are looking for a Communications Officer who can strategically identify and post engaging content for our social media feeds and other communication channels, which will inspire people to support our work with refugees and asylum seekers in Epirus. You are the person who thinks “this would make a good post”, while activities are taking place. More than that, your interest and belief in digital communications as a force for good should be backed with an interest in data and analytics, using them to influence our overall communication strategy.
Your role would include:
Interacting with our digital communities to increase engagement, followers and the quality of user experience.
Identifying key influencers and conversations that we should engage in to better showcase our work and expand our reach.
Managing our other channels of communication, including newsletters, donor engagement, website and press service.
You should be able to:
Manage communication channels in a professional capacity

We are now looking for a new Chair to lead our Board at this pivotal moment. Our Chair is responsible for ensuring that the board operates effectively and oversees a clear strategic direction for the charity, providing ambassadorial leadership as needed and constructive, supportive partnership with our CEO, Alex Farrow and our Senior Leadership Team. But critically, they will be a calm voice and fierce advocate as we navigate this rapidly shifting landscape.
We’re looking for someone familiar navigating complex human rights systems with the ability to foster high performing governance that enables our team to build connections and to recalibrate for best impact. The successful person will have prior Chair or non-executive experience, or at a minimum sustained Director-level board exposure. They will be an enabling, facilitative leader able to foster robust debate and decision-making, they will be comfortable advocating for the rights of LGBTI+ people and supporting our charity to remain financially sustainable and adaptive to evolving risk.

What can I expect to be doing?

Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets.

The Vavengers Co-Chair designate
The Vavengers has recently transitioned to a Co-Chair approach to better support our small but dedicated team, and in recognition of the heightened risk of isolation and burnout in small charities. This dual-leadership model allows the Co-Chairs to prioritise staff well-being and offer more robust, active support to The Vavengers staff. The ideal candidate will bring integrity, diplomacy and emotional intelligence to this Co-Chair role. They will have a proven ability to build strong relationships with the CEO, fellow trustees, staff, volunteers and external stakeholders. They should have experience in navigating risk and uncertainty at the organisational and sector level. They must be committed to building an open, collegiate co-leadership relationship with their Co-Chair.

The Vavengers Treasurer
We are seeking a Treasurer to join the Board and oversee financial governance. The Treasurer will:
Provide strategic financial support to the CEO
Establish and chair a new Audit and Risk sub-committee
Monitor financial performance, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance are in place and advising on risk.
The ideal candidate will be a senior finance professional with strong experience in governance, audit and risk. Candidates should be comfortable operating at the Board level, providing constructive challenge and communicating financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues. Knowledge of charity finance and the SORP would be an advantage, but is not essential.
A full handover will be provided by our current Treasurer, who is stepping down in the summer.

The Vavengers, Legal Trustee
We are seeking a legal trustee for the Vavengers Board. The legal trustee will already have or will be willing to develop a strong understanding of charity governance and will be eager to grow and amplify the charity’s significant public advocacy work.
The right candidate would bring professional legal experience from one or more areas relevant to our work, which may include human rights, immigration and asylum, media and communication, employment and equality, defamation, risk management, compliance and data protection. Experience in charity law and governance would be an advantage, but is not essential.
A full handover will be provided by our current Legal Trustee, who is stepping down in the summer.

Basis has over three decades of experience delivering trauma-informed, non-judgemental support, advocacy, outreach and education. As Treasurer Trustee, you will play a key role in supporting the Board’s oversight of the charity’s financial health, sustainability and governance. While professional financial qualifications are not required, we are looking for someone who is confident in scrutinising financial information, asking constructive questions, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Published daily, Proxy is committed to delivering ambitious and distinctive journalism. The publication covers topics that are of greatest significance to women’s human rights, focusing on people, ideas, laws and institutions from a feminist viewpoint and extending beyond. Principal Responsibilities
· Maintain a thorough understanding of global trends and developments concerning women's human rights.
· Submit two articles per month for publication, each typically between 600 and 800 words in length.
· Ensure accuracy by obtaining supplementary material and further information from archives, reference libraries, and interviews with informed individuals.
· Conduct interviews in a variety of circumstances as required.
· Establish and maintain contacts to facilitate news gathering, including relationships with the police, emergency services, local councils, community groups, health trusts, press officers from various organisations, and members of the public as needed.
· Work collaboratively with the IWI and Proxy team to produce clear and precise content in accordance with house style guidelines.
· Undertake research and write feature articles, occasionally contributing to subsidiary publications and supplements.
Requirements
· A minimum of four years’ experience in research and/or reporting.
· Proven interpersonal and collaborative abilities, able to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Flexibility, initiative, and robust problem-solving skills.
· Experience within multicultural settings and an awareness of cross-cultural differences.
· Dedication to promoting women’s human rights.
· Strong listening skills.
· Outstanding writing skills, including adaptability in writing styles and responsiveness to editorial guidance.
· Excellent analytical capabilities for precise understanding of subject matter.

IRMO works to enable the development, agency, and participation of Latin Americans and other Spanish and Portuguese speakers, by responding to both immediate needs and structural inequalities. We do this by offering high-quality information and advice services, opportunities for development and training, and a platform to seek social and systemic change. Our work is organised across three main operational areas - Advice and Casework; Education, Training and Employment; Children and Young People, and a cross-cutting area - Advocacy, Research and Campaigning.
About the role
The Communication & Outreach Volunteer will work closely with the Communications, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (CMEL), assisting in a variety of outreach and communication tasks. This new role will support the communication of the impact of IRMO’s work externally and, crucially, spend time in the community promoting our services directly.
By supporting this area of our work, you will play a key role in promoting our services, projects and activities to the Latin American community both in-person through outreach activities such as flyering and attending events, and online through the creation of social media posts.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to develop their communication, design or promotional skills and professional experience. They will also be able to use their language, creative and interpersonal skills in a positive and impactful way.
This role is particularly suited to someone who wants to volunteer with IRMO but wants the flexibility to complete their volunteering tasks on a schedule that best suits their availability and enjoys a flexible working environment. The post-holder will be expected to travel to community hubs regularly, but will also be able to complete tasks at IRMO’s offices or remotely.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Personally distributing flyers, posters and informative material to key community hubs such as libraries, shops, cafés and churches
Support with the creation, translation and dissemination of informative material, such as social media posts, videos and printed leaflets
Create visuals, flyers, posters and other materials using online tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop
Occasionally accompany the CMEL officer to events or activities to take photos and videos, which can be used online
Assisting the CMEL officer in actively promoting activities, services and events through different channels
We are looking for someone who is/has:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish or Portuguese and good written English
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience or interest in using creative tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
Experience or interest in social media management
Experience or interest in creating video or photo content
Ability to work individually and a willingness to engage with community members
Confident and enthusiastic about working in a multicultural and multilingual environment

About Voice 21
Voice 21 is the national oracy education charity. We support schools to build speaking and listening into the curriculum, teaching, learning and wider school life so that every child can use their voice to thrive in school, work and life. Our training and development programmes for teachers and school leaders transform learning through talk, expanding access to high-quality oracy education, particularly for children who need it most.

Since its inception in 2015, Voice 21 has built a national movement to put oracy at the heart of education in the UK. In November 2025, the government responded to Professor Becky Francis’s Curriculum and Assessment Review by adopting the definition of oracy used by Voice 21 and by the independent Oracy Commission in its 2024 report, We Need to Talk: ‘Articulating ideas, developing understanding and engaging with others through speaking, listening and communication’.
The government has also committed to publish national guidance on oracy, modelled on the Writing Framework, and to strengthening oracy teaching within subjects. The Schools White Paper published in February 2026 reinforced this direction, positioning oracy as the fourth “R” alongside reading, writing and maths.
Oracy is now firmly part of national policy, and Voice 21 continues to build evidence of its impact on young people’s attainment, wellbeing, belonging and career readiness.
This policy shift represents a major campaigning success for Voice 21 and others who campaigned alongside us. Our new 2030 Strategy aims to seize this moment and secure high-quality, evidence-based oracy education for every child, particularly for those children in schools serving disadvantaged communities.
Investment will be critical to achieving this ambition. Fundraising currently provides 20% of our income. Our goal is to increase this to 40%, doubling fundraised income to support delivery of our 2030 strategy.
The Role: Trustee with fundraising expertise
Voice 21 is keen to strengthen its board-level knowledge and skills by adding a fundraising specialist trustee. We are looking to appoint a strategic fundraising leader who has substantial experience of successfully developing fundraising departments and growing voluntary income. As trustee, you will provide strategic oversight, constructive challenge and advice on fundraising strategy.
Ideally your career will have focused on high value and relationship fundraising (philanthropy, trusts, corporate partnerships). As a subject specialist, you will help to expand and deepen fellow trustees’ understanding of fundraising strategy and operations, providing knowledge, guidance, challenge and advocacy.
Your expertise will be invaluable at this pivotal moment for Voice 21, as the charity prepares to launch an ambitious new strategy, with a goal to double fundraised income by 2030. Your insights will be particularly appreciated by the experienced Head of Fundraising, CEO and Director of Operations – including contributing critical/analytic skills to help evaluate fundraising ideas and opportunities – though your primary focus will be advising on fundraising at governance level.
Knowledge And Experience:
Significant senior fundraising experience, with proven ability to secure major income.
Personal experience working with high profile figures, senior leaders in major companies, people with high levels of personal wealth who are seeking charitable missions like ours to support.
Understanding of charity leadership, including developing and implementing organisational strategy.
Broad understanding of fundraising management across income streams.

A bit about this role...
Every penny counts when it comes to improving the lives of the thousands of cats and kittens across the UK that need our help each year. Our Collection Box Volunteers help us raise vital funds by collecting and distributing collection boxes in their local area. Making a difference can mean as little as raising 20p, which is enough to feed one cat in our care for a day, to £150 which is the average cost of a cat in our care.
